...just arrived. Only got the dispatch email this morning! Pretty awesome. I really want the Spider-Island hardback but...so expensive. It's nearly £20 still. Might just blow the cash on it anyway - absolutely loved the arc last summer. related: Anyone read the FF arc in Spider-Man? I've skipped over it as the two I read before just felt like FF books and I just don't follow them.

I did some work for Marks and Spencer a while back and I'd say about 90% of my job was apologising for how shit City Link are. It was atrocious - they'd smash, abandon, mistreat, misdeliver, destroy and generally fuck every delivery they could. I swear they got extra pay for killing flowers meant for the elderly and recently bereaved going by how often they did it. It was so bad I actually thought about never ordering online again...

Oh yeah I remember that happening in Spider-Island. Good then? I'll keep an eye out. I've been catching up on some Spidey stuff I missed after Big Time and just read Matters of Life and Death. Really enjoyed the Smythe story (especially the new Scorpion, though I thought Gargan was more...mental these days) and the rest of the trade was really good too- short stories but they all worked great. Especially enjoyed the one about Johnny Storm. How's Avengers after FI? Not read anything current since then.

This absolutely needs to be about the Winter Soldier - It's regarded as one of the best Cap storylines of all time by a lot of fans and it really captures everything great about the character, his role in the world and his relationship with the people in his life. It also sets up a really fucking cool prospect for a third film.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the default sign in profile? Emma's GT signs in automatically but she rarely plays on the 360 so every time I use it I have to waste time signing out and in again.

A big thread to discuss the myriad joys of iOS, Windows Phone and Android gaming. I'm thinking of switching from Android to iOS myself, mostly because of the games (plus some other app related stuff) so what are the big ones to look for, Apple fans? Catan is great. You have the board itself (and pieces) which give it a physical, theme, plus a great internal logic that says a town needs food, wool, timber and bricks to be built and then needs stone and more food to become a city. etc. Resources all make sense and are all used as you'd generally expect. I'd say the only exception is development cards.

I read an article saying that the theme of medieval empire building is totally abstract and kind of becomes meaningless in relation to how the game plays (as in, the theme could be about marshmellows and make no difference) I know it's a small concern but I really like how my other games - Catan, Muchkin and Pandemic, all feel really well themed with their own 'fiction'.

Should be hearing from our future landlord today whether or not he' secured a date we can work around for moving in. Fingers crossed...

I've found that trying to tell someone how a game works is doomed to failure - better by far to show them. Dominion looks cool but I'm put off by the reportedly weak theme. I love boardgames though so I might take a look.
