  1. That is why I think a one party system is so wrong and dangerous. One party will have a say in everything, they can do whatever they want. It just isn't right.
  2. I think I might have to look for another job. Current job is still having lots of issues... We are still waiting for half of our pay from last month, and next pay day is only 9 days away. We just don't seem to have enough cash flow in the company, not enough projects going on that pay enough. The bosses kind of tried to blame the other two guys recently, saying that because they don't do enough work, there is not enough money. Which is very unfair as there just aren't any projects coming in so they don't really have anything to work on... I am trying to write an email to address some issues to our bosses, but it is quite awkward as we all work in the same room (there is just 4 of us, plus one more boss but she stays home to take care of the kids) and one of the employees knows them personally as well. :S We have tried to raise issues before, but there is always some excuse. I understand that they don't have money and can't pay their own bills, but that shouldn't be my issue... Not sure how to word this email, urgh. Need to raise the lack of payment, not receiving our payslips, we need to get our P60... I don't know if they are required to offer a pension scheme as well but might just leave that out for now. Stresssssss. I love my job itself but this is just getting ridiculous now. Why can't I just have a nice job that I like and that pays well (on time). Still thinking I should start freelancing, but have no clue where to start with everything (especially legal stuff) and it honestly just scares me.
  3. Can the voting system be changed? Like, how would it ever come up that they would change it? How did the referendum for the Alternative Vote come about? I think it should be a proportional representation system (which is what I am used to from Belgium, had never heard of tactical voting or wasted votes before this election). Even though I don't agree with UKIP for obvious reasons, it is unfair that people's votes mean nothing and their voices are not being heard. That doesn't sound like democracy to me. If the system was different, you would probably see a lot of different votes as well, as people would finally feel that they can vote for the party they believe in, not just vote for a party just to keep the other party out etc...
  4. I wish I could go and vote, as I do feel strongly about some of the issues in this country. Bit annoyed that I won't have the option to have a say in it. Though after looking into the voting system in the UK a bit more, I have to say that it makes absolutely no sense and just seems like a very unfair system, where small parties never get anything. Basically it looks like it will pretty much always end up being a battle between Conservative and Labour, which is just ridiculous. Would be nice for the UK to get a fairer voting system, one that isn't stuck in the past and tied to a "one party should rule the country" theory. Coalitions are common in other countries and work fine, and they give smaller parties the chance to get in too. In any case, if you have registered to vote, then please go and vote!
  5. I actually enjoy what I do in my job, I even took a pay cut from my last job to do this one. I have looked around for other jobs but I honestly don't know what I could do that I would enjoy. Now I get to draw stuff! Graphic design jobs here all seem to be focused on webdesign (can't do that), designing boring marketing stuff with strict deadlines, need lots of experience etc. Just nothing that sounds like what I want to do.
  6. Well done Rummy! Speaking about pay, for like, the 4th time I think since I started working at my job (almost a year ago), there are issues with payment. Boss keeps having problems paying us. Pay day was on the 17th (didn't get any money), just checked now and I have been paid half of my pay. Same thing happened last month, we didn't get paid the other half until two weeks after... If you can't even pay your employees, that pretty much means your business isn't doing well enough... And here I was hoping maybe I could get a payrise after working there for a year (especially since I do most of the videos). Guess not.
  7. A (very bad quality) first picture of me and my niece.
  8. I finished Bayonetta 2 yesterday. I really enjoyed the game, like I did the first one. The over the top violence and "sexyness" make this game fun to play. I forgot how long I spent on the first game, but this seemed quite short to me. And a lot easier (unless I just got so much better at it). In the first game I had to use Red Shot a few times, in this game I never used it (playing on normal difficulty). In any case, I enjoyed the game and I could see them doing a third one at some point, which would be great. Games played in 2015 Bayonetta Hyrule Warriors Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U Valiant Hearts Dust: An Elysian Tail Velocity 2X Rogue Legacy Cities:Skylines Bayonetta 2
  9. The headache continues. The item has been sent back to the supplier now, as XDP are idiots. We now have to wait for them to get the item back to either get a refund or have them send the item again (though I doubt it would get here before Friday, which is the last day someone will be home to take delivery). Basically this item was ordered through Amazon but is being supplied by another seller (Amazon didn't have any stock at the time). I have now noticed that Amazon have it in stock again, for about £30 less than what I paid. So I am not sure what to do right now. Do I ask for a refund and order it through Amazon (but then again delivery might be an issue), or do I just get them to hopefully redeliver it in time? Would I be able to ask them for a £30 compensation or something, or is that not done? This has been so much hassle and stress, it's such a pain.
  10. I've started playing this, loving it so far, same over the top action like in the first game. Also, I have a sealed copy of the second game for sale if anyone is interested? Have an extra copy that I don't need as I also have the double pack, so if interested, just let me know!
  11. Jim is forcing me to make a post about the games I have played this year, even though my list isn't very impressive. But still, these are the games I have finished/played. Bayonetta Started this over Christmas (present from Jim) and finished it on New Years Day I think. :P Enjoyed this game, even though I was probably a bit button mashy with it at some points heh. But it was fun and I enjoyed beating the monsters and trying out the different climaxes. Still have the second game to start, just need to plug the Wii U back in at some point. Hyrule Warriors Another Christmas present but didn't start it until the start of the year. It is fun to make your way through a massive horde of enemies, using massive attacks! Mostly used Link, a bit of Zelda, Lana, Sheik and Impa, barely touched some of the others and completely ignored the bad guys. :P It was fun and I finished the story mode (not 100% on items though), but then started losing interest. The Adventure map kept me going for a bit, but it is too much of the same and you have to keep playing the same maps again and again so it does get a bit tedious. Didn't bother with DLC as it would be more of the same really. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition I didn't think this would be the type of game I would enjoy, as it seemed quite violent and dark (I watched Jim play through most of it). But I actually really really enjoyed it! I was hooked on it, playing for hours at a time. Even finished all the challenges that are hidden throughout the game. Would have tried for a Platinum if it didn't require you to do the multiplayer stuff (which I haven't touched). But yeah, really enjoyed it and hope the next one comes out for PS4 at some point! Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U Bought both versions of the game, but I have to admit that I barely touched them. I played a bit more of the 3DS one, think I unlocked all the characters, but then I kind of lost interest as there weren't any fun modes to keep me going. The Wii U version I think I turned on only once or twice, barely did anything in it... for some reason it just doesn't interest me anymore, and I think the lack of a story mode is why. I loved the Subspace Emissary in Brawl and wish this game had something similar. It's a shame as I was a huge fan of the previous games. Valiant Hearts Lovely little game which, despite it's lovely art style, is very grim and sad. I enjoyed reading all of the information they would give you about the war, collecting all the items etc. Switching between the different characters made the game more interesting as well, as at times it could feel a bit samey. But overall, I enjoyed this game, think I even shed a tear at the end. Dust: An Elysian Tail Got this as a free game on PS4 and had no clue what it was about, but it turned out being really good! The voice-acting can be a bit cringeworthy, but the game looks nice and reminds me a lot of Muramasa in the way it plays and the way it looks, which is never a bad thing. Velocity 2X I haven't finished this yet, but will try to get back into it. Again wasn't sure what to expect of this, but the levels are great and it is fun to try and go through them as fast as possible, switching between the ship and your human form. I'm not the best at this game, but it's one of those that will click after a while and you improve with every level. It's different, but very fun! Rogue Legacy Again a free game we got on PS4, had no clue what it was about but had heard some praise from other N-E people so decided to give it a try. And that try turned into about 24-25 hours of really enjoyable game time! It took me a while to figure out what exactly you do in this game and how it works, but once I figured it out, I was hooked. It's one of those games where you say "one more go", but then you just keep going and going! I finished it today, really really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who can get their hands on it. The game is very funny as well, gave me a few laughs along the way. Currently playing Cities:Skylines on my Mac, but might try and find another game to play on PS4 (unless I dig out the Wii U for Bayonetta 2).
  12. Just did the test Moogle posted, man is it long! My results: 40% - Green Party 30% - Labour 20% - Liberal Democrats 10% - Conservatives Not really surprising I think, though sometimes it was hard to pick one as they all seemed similar or they all had a few points I liked. I am definitely not a UKIP voter, and the Conservatives don't seem too great either. The problem is that they can say whatever they want in their policies to lure people in, but in the end you won't know what they will actually do and if they will keep their word (as has been shown in the past with the Lib-Dems for example).
  13. I can teach her to call me Mother of Fire, that sounds awesome! But it actually means proud godmother, which is a bit less awesome. But still cool. Going to Belgium on April 18, can't wait! =)
  14. Not sure it is particularly Belgian, have heard it in Dutch, French (Margaux) and English, but doesn't seem to be very common. The birth card is basically posted out to all friends and family, informing them that the baby is born, giving the name, date, hour, weight, length etc. And tells them visiting times in the hospital and home address, phone numbers, and account number so people can give money. =P And for some people, a small card is included inviting them to see the baby at a certain date, where usually there will be food and they can give presents. =) Here is what I made for the card (sadly I don't have a printed version yet, booh): Inside: Back and front: Oh and when people visit, they are given some candy, chocolate covered in a hard sugar coating, usually in a specific colour. My sister made matching boxes, hand sewn bags and glass bottles with animals on top (she had to hand paint the colour on) to give out:
  15. A two party system seems weird and restrictive to me. In Belgium you have a lot of parties to pick from, meaning you can really try to narrow it down to the party that mostly fits your ideas. Though it seems it is changing a bit in the UK, but still most parties seem very similar I think. Just looked it up: The following cannot vote in a UK general election: - EU citizens resident in the UK (although they can vote at elections to local authorities, devolved legislatures and the European Parliament) If I register at the Belgian Embassy (which I should), I can still vote in Belgium as well, which seems weird as I haven't lived there in 3 years. =P
  16. Seems I am very much a Green party person. =P I used to vote for the Greens in Belgium (or the Socialists, depending who I liked more at the time), but I don't know how much they compare to the Green party in the UK. No one here seems to like them/vote for them? I think I am allowed to vote, but possibly only at a local level? So not at a national level I guess. I have no idea how voting works here, how does it work with your job? In Belgium voting is done on a Sunday morning so all people can go (shops are generally closed on Sundays), but then people -have- to vote in Belgium so there is a difference.
  17. They have known the name for a few months already (but kept it secret for everyone except me), so I assume my sister bought that hat herself. =P The only reason I was told the name was because I had to design the birth card (which I found out is not done in the UK). And because I am awesome of course.
  18. My sister has given birth to a baby girl, Margot! I am an auntie now!
  19. Do you own a PS4 and have you played any of the games? I am not a fan of shooters and don't play them, yet I have still have had more fun playing games on the PS4 (games which are very diverse) than I have on the Wii U. And I consider myself a Nintendo fan, even if they have let me down lately. Your posts make it look like you don't know what you are talking about and just grasping at straws... Don't judge what you don't know.
  20. Shall we start our own creative studio together? :P I like my job but there are quite a few things with it that bother me... I had already been looking at other jobs but the only thing around are the typical graphic designer jobs for packaging design or clothing where you need lots of experience and web skills etc, urgh. I need a job that is creative, where I don't get underpaid like I am now and the things I do are actually appreciated and not taken for granted.
  21. Made myself quite sad today when trying to figure out my annual leave for this year, and realising I might only be able to see my family in April (tickets already booked) and for Christmas. My sister's baby will be over half a year already by the time I see them in Christmas, and probably a year when I see them again after that. =( Also, trying to figure out how to get my Belgian ID card renewed and it is such a painnnnnn. Why can't they make this easier and use words that normal people can understand? Urghhhh.
  22. Yeah the first time I looked at it it was definitely black and blue and I couldn't see how anyone could see it as white and gold. But when I looked at it again later, it was now white and gold... and no matter how much I try, I can't get it to show up as black and blue again. Why are you deceiving me eyes/brainnnnnn?! =(
  23. We called our local Tesco, they said "For items that are high in demand, it is better to come in and check yourself.". Eh, great, thanks for not being helpful at all. So we went in there and guess what, they don't even sell any consoles... We might check another Tesco tomorrow but don't think we will be more successful there. And my friends live here too so no luck there, boooh.
  24. Happy birthday almost birthday sharer! Hope you have a lovely week off!
