Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had a quiet day yesterday (no work, whooo!), picked up my cake, played Tomb Raider for most of the afternoon/evening, and had Chinese take-away and a cider, mmm. Had lunch today with some friends and will be seeing the new Disney film tomorrow. And that cake Jim posted is what I had! It was/is massive! But so delicious.

How much do Vita consoles go for these days? And which one is the newest model? Am kind of interested in one but not sure what the cheapest price is for them? Other than Tearaway, what other games are worth getting if I do end up getting one?

Is it bad that I really enjoy taking enemies down with the bow? Or hitting them in the head with the pick axe? I feel like some horrible, brutal murderer, but I am enjoying it so much! The game is very over the top by the way, but once you accept that and the millions of ways in which Lara can die, then it isn't too bad. =P

It has been 28 years since a mysterious, incurable virus spread over the UK, infecting many people and leaving them with strange symptoms such as producing weird, animal like sounds, an insatiable hunger, drooling like a rabid dog and having a vacant expression in their eyes. Luckily the virus has been overcome and the world has gone back to normal, with people integrating into today's society without any issues. However, it has been discovered that one victim of the virus still remains to this day, albeit the virus might be a slightly milder, mutated version with less severe symptoms. The victim manages to live a normal life for the most part, masking the virus very well and appearing like any other human being. However, sometimes the virus shows its ugly head and the symptoms become more apparent: The victim however, doesn't seem to be too bothered about this, and so far he has not yet harmed any others, so the authorities have decided to let him be for now and see how things go. Today marks the 28th birthday of this special person, this carrier of the virus that turns you into a weird, yet loveable being. Happy birthday Fierce_LiNk! :yay::yay:

I got the following (in order of receiving): An awesome recreation of my Whistle drawing as a pillow and plushie, done by @Sprout! Will post a picture when I am in the UK again. =D From Jim's Mum, as he already said, we got some Mickey and Minnie cups, egg cups and salt and pepper shakers. Very cute. =) (pictures not taken by me) From Jim I got: Hyrule Warriors digital version Bayonetta 1+2 (and another copy of Bayonetta 2 as apparently Amazon are weird and sent us both versions... so now we have the second game twice =P ). Oh Lola! perfume by Marc Jacobs, 100ml bottle. =) And from my family I got: A cookbook holder, because it will make cooking easier, my books keep getting covered in food and the pages keep closing. One of the perfumes I like. =) Handkerchiefs/tissues, a nail clipping set, bottle of shampoo. And from my sister I got a measuring tape in the shape of a chameleon. But this was a bit special, as a measuring tape is called a "meter" here, which is also another word for "godmother". On the measuring tape she had written "Do you want to become my godmother?". So yay, I will be auntie and godmother of her baby (and I already know the name and gender, as the only one in the family, wheeee)! =D I already gave her one of her presents early, which was a lovely baby-gym thing. She was so happy with it as it was the exact one she wanted. I'm such a great sister. =P

Only because GAME are selling it at a good price today. Let's see if I will play/enjoy this more than the 3DS one. =P

Just found out that all of my shoes/boots (like, all 3 pairs that I own haha) have holes in them. Boooh. =( And I am not sure when I can buy new ones as I am still waiting for work to pay me (pay day was on the 17th)... This is the second time they are late with payment and it is starting to get annoying. I know it is all down to our clients not paying on time but urgh, I need my money. If anyone wants to help fund my new shoes without holes, you can always buy your Christmas cards in my shop. =P

I know that I am a day too late, but I hope you still had a great birthday! =D :yay::yay:

I haven't ordered the game and this makes me feel quite bad. I used to love Smash, but I just can't get excited for this one. =( I got the 3DS one but I stopped playing it as soon as I unlocked all the characters, it just didn't draw me back in. The Smash Run part just isn't fun and there is not much else that makes me want to go back for more, just feels too samey. I would probably be interested in this if it had something like the Subspace Emissary, but there is nothing like that in this game, is there?

I've got the option to install the update right now on my Nexus 4. Does anyone here have a Nexus 4 and if so, does the new update run smoothly on that? I am always a bit wary about updates, always had too many people contact us with issues when I still worked in tech support. =P

I am not a fan of hostels either, never slept well in any of them. Always noisy/lots are icky. Finding a hotel would be better I think, though I would recommend booking it beforehand. If you try and find one on the day, you might have trouble finding rooms and the prices will probably be a lot higher than if you booked beforehand. You should probably start looking now, as I imagine prices will be quite high during December and you don't want to be stuck with only the expensive rooms.

To be honest I had never heard of the games before until Jim mentioned this game (he was looking for a strategy game I could play). I looked up some reviews and they seemed mostly positive for Tropico 3, 4 and 5. Was going to try one of the old versions first, but then I saw the deal for this one so just decided to go with it. =) I don't really have any games to compare it to, I have only ever played Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 and some Age of Empires games. I like this one though, even though I have only just started the campaign (not sure how long the campaign is). You are basically a president of a Caribbean island (kinda like Cuba) and you will have to advance through different time periods (Colonial ages, Cold Wars, Modern times etc), with different buildings and upgrades becoming available of course. I haven't gone past the Cold Wars yet though, but it seems pretty deep, you have to try and keep your people happy, give them jobs and houses, you can set the budget they get in their job and all that. You have the option to play the game as a nice leader, but you can also be a corrupt president, committing election fraud, bribing people, deporting or killing rebels etc. I haven't done everything yet but so far it seems really good to me. Of course you have to like this type of game, cause sometimes you will just have to wait for things to be built or resources to be collected (though you can speed up the time). Ended up playing it until 4am last night haha. =P

I couldn't wait for this to come out on the PS4 (been craving a game like this for ages!) so just ended up buying it on Steam for my MacBook. Managed to get it on the HumbleStore for about £23, so not bad! I think I ended up playing it for 7 hours yesterday, oops! Enjoying it though, if you like Sim-type games where you get to control and build an entire city (or island in this case), look into this game. It has a nice sense of humour as well. =)

This is a pretty awesome and creative animated music video. =)

I will be an auntie in April! =D

Well done Eddage! =) Some good news for me too! Sent my employers an email on Sunday about the holidays and salary confusion. They forgot to reply to it but yesterday one of them finally spoke to me about it. Seems he messed up on the holidays and he meant April instead of August, so my new holiday entitlement will start on May 1st. In regards to the salary, I was right in that they said it would be 15k for working 4 days. They said that this will happen as soon as one of our big contracts finishes and that client pays their bill (which will be a pretty big bill, will probably pay off my entire salary in one go =P ). But yeah I have to wait until then, which might be another few weeks/months as that client is super slow, boooh. But that will be good though, money! And I told them I am available for overtime on Fridays if necessary. =)

At the time of the interview, they didn't have any staff, I was the first one. We have two apprentices now and they will be taking on two more apprentices, all doing 3-4 days (and I assume apprentices don't receive the same amount of pay). My role title is different from the apprentices, and they have asked me if I am happy to take on more responsibilities in the future (though no mention of pay rise). They clearly said 15,000 for the 4 days of work at the time of the interview, even asking if that was fine. They shouldn't have advertised it as a 15k job for full-time if that is not what you can get, especially as they never mentioned in the job ad or during the interview (until the very end) that they don't work a full week. =/

I started the job on May 12, which is when my holiday entitlement started. At the time my contract was to work from Monday to Wednesday, 9-5 Mo-Tue and 9-1 on Wednesday, though I pretty much worked overtime to Thursday on most weeks, never really did the part-time thing. I got made full-time in August, working 30 hours (9-5 with half hour lunch, no other breaks) from Monday to Thursday. I understand that 15k pro-rata for 30 hours is not the full 15k, but I was told by them that I would get that for working the four days. I don't know if I should mention this to them or not, but it is very frustrating for me as I took the job in the understanding that it would be 15k. I would rather work the extra day on Friday to get the full pay as I want to be able to pay the bills and everything, but that's not going to work of course. =( As for the holiday, it must be wrong... I started in May, the contract says the holidays start from May, so having it run until August makes no sense. My holiday entitlement went from 13.6 days to 23 days (this is including bank holidays). I have only taken 6 so far (plus two bank holidays), 6 more planned and then 3 bank holidays until May, so that makes 6 days left. Until May, not August.

Ok I need some advice, as I am not sure if I am being screwed over or if there is just an error going on... Basically I am currently really annoyed about my pay and holiday entitlement. Some background information: I started my job in May. When I did the interview, it was advertised as a 15k pro rata job, but it would be part-time (2.5 days so £7500). However when I did the interview, I was told by the employers that if I got through the probation of 3 months, the job would become a full-time permanent position at 15k, however only working Monday to Thursday (as they don't work on Fridays). So basically 15k for 4 days work, sounds great! Now last month I was told I would be made full-time, though they didn't have the contract for me to read or sign yet. This week I asked if they could send it to me (as I was still waiting and nothing was happening) so they emailed it to me (still need to sign it). Apparently I will now be on a pay of £12,480 per year, no mention of 15k at all. I feel like I am being tricked and cheated with this, as they told me during the interview that it would be 15k, and nowhere in the job application did it say that they only work four days (in which case 15k would be impossible pro rata). Do I have any rights here in claiming more pay? I have nothing in writing, I never even got a copy of my temporary contract when I started (which probably only mentioned the £7500), all I found is one of their job applications. =( Now the other thing I am confused about (and this might just be an error on their part) is my holidays. They say that after my break in October and Christmas, I will have 6 days left (after bank holidays) until August. What? That doesn't make sense does it? It says in my contract that the holiday year runs from 1st of May, so surely that means I have 6 days left until May? I want to write an email to them about this stuff, but I don't want to appear rude or anything, especially as I like my job and there is only a few of us (basically we all work in the same room etc.)... But I do feel quite annoyed about the pay and everything, because 12,480 is a big difference with my previous crappy job (17k + 1500 bonus). =(

Any news of a demo coming out for this? I am quite interested in the games, but would like to try them first to see if it is my cup of tea or not.

Thanks for the code! Wonder if it is worth getting a bigger one maybe... hmm. Not even sure what phone my dad uses but it seems to work on lots of phones so might be worth getting. Thanks. =)
