  1. Some people need to get a better idea of when someone is stating their opinion and stating fact. I frequently get an earful because I criticise games from certain members of the community but that's just the way I am sometimes. Very few times do people actually post back in a way that suggests that they have a counter arguement or a contradicting opinion, instead they feel the need to make things personal very quickly. They often think that I'm stating fact when actually I am just illustrating the route of logic that brings me to having the opinion that I do. It's unnecessary and all it does it make me want to post less because some people can't have a civilised discussion.
  2. Crystal Bearers this month? Now that can't be right...
  3. Well that list can fuck off already... TMNT on the NES is on the list. Loses all credibility.
  4. Smartest thing i've heard on the gaming side of the forum in ages I don't think that the publishers understand the Wii's audience well enough yet to confidently make any bold statements (you know... bar Sega of course ) We are in a golden age of tech and graphics right now but design is the real winner for the Wii. Unfortunately adventures in design are much higher risk as they give management a headache due to usually not being in a currently defined genre. It's hard to tell how a market will react to a new game design especially when there are tried and tested types out there. Personally, I would like to see big publishers creating experimental titles for WiiWare with the thought of expanding the design up to a fully fledged game based on the success of what you could see as a trial run.
  5. Very surprised that so many people here are preparing to shell out another £150 for one of these. I'd love to have £150 to essentially waste right now...
  6. Dammit! Even snowballs can't break this invisible wall!
  7. Congrachurashuns! Well done Eenuh, you work pretty hard on your art stuffs and you have ooodles of talent. You deserve it muchly.
  8. As long as it's a representative sample then yes. The sample size (if a good sample group) should simply extrapolate up to the same stats as the population.
  9. Hey I just had a look at Stormrise, think it's out later this month. RTS game but all done from the ground. I'll be interested to see if this works out... http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43230.html
  10. To me, I think that all of this VR stuff is totally against Nintendo's philosophy. The Wii-remote does has some kind of immersion factor but honestly I think that is a fairly weak arguement. The fact that it is a simple input device that includes an audience is the most powerful thing about the Wii. I see Nintendo going even further in this direction to carry on including people and I'm sorry, VR and high-tech, expensive stuff isn't going to do that. I really think that the next console could be semi-portable. I actually had a hunch that the Wii was going to be but I think that it would be a good idea.
  11. I actually think that it sounds quite fun. How do you play poker with cars/bots? There a lot of questions that I'm interested to see/hear answered. You guys have obviously forgotten how good cream pie gags are
  12. Thanks for the links Lee, that's pretty helpful. There are tons of compare websites but it's hard to know which ones are any good. I'll post some more specific questions when I get a bit closer to actually ordering stuff Yeah, I'm pretty well there... just want to be getting to the stage where I can find a motherboard that isn't going to be holding back the processor I get or the GFX. Dude, seriously?! No sound card and more importantly no PSU?! Crazy foool! It's all good really, I'm slowly picking up bits from Wiki and sites that profile the progression in GFX chip architecture but its going to take a little time before I can really start learning about the N-bridge and S-bridge on my processor... (I almost sound like I know something about this stuff!)
  13. Just had a look at this Rob Fahey article from GI.biz. Makes for some very interesting reading about Nintendo's strategy with the DSi: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/nintendos-long-game_6
  14. Hey guys, I'm hoping to be putting togther my own system later on this year because I'd like to learn a lot more about pretty much well everything to do with my PC. Now I've been out of the loop with PC hardware for a good 5 years or so now so I'm fairly unaware of what is available, how things compare to each other and how to design a set up as a whole. I've heard many horror stories about ppl buying expensive systems only to have them bottleneck somewhere or have components disagree to some extent. Essentially, I'm looking for resources really. A good website or 3 where I can actually learn a bit about what I should be looking out for. I know a lot of people here know their stuff but I thought it would be best to make an informed decision with advice rather than just on the back of advice. So yeah.... thoughts?
  15. March 3rd I'm pretty sure Have people seen the previews up? PC Gamer have already reviewed it... 94% is pretty damn good!
  16. Well the series is doing really well... 3 million sales for MH: 2G on PSP (combined sales for the different versions). And that's just in Japan. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/Monster-Hunter-2G-Japanese-sales-hit-3m-units Hopefully more money for Capcom will allow them to have enough breathing room to risk a Europe release with some gusto. I can understand why they aren't fussed about releasing it for the PSP over here but surely they can't ignore the Wii userbase?
  17. What can you say? It doesn't happen regularly getting people who can really answer the questions! Good for you mate. Sounds like you had a great time. Can't believe that you've managed to play the game before me. Never got a chance while it was in the office and that gets me pissed!
  18. Ah missed your post. But still, Ash is likely to just be meeting PR people and they know very little. Almost definitely wouldn't be able to answer those questions and if they do they are likely to be blagging it. Surely you know that?
  19. Dave why don't you just write and ask the guys at Kuju. They're a pretty cool bunch as I remember and they'll likely tell you as much as they can. Doubt anyone here can give you any answers to those questions.
  20. Definitely looks quite a lot like Weavel to me. But yeah the whole Metroid universe could do with a different perspective. Y'know, actually seriously see the impact that the little blighters would have on the psyche of a society. No one really ever seems to acknowledge quite how mystical and amazing they are and in MP3 specifically, they are just kind of there. So much more depth could be put in but I hope that it is just something fun and original.
  21. That looked shocking. Not expecting much from this game. The only thing that I have seen that I've liked has been that music promo thing and that's obviously FMV.
  22. Jamba

    MadWorld

Awesome, well I think that you'll have a great time. Sega ppls were always very nice to me when I was doing journo stuff. Where are you going to? Guessing somewhere in London....
  23. Jamba

    MadWorld

    Interview? Details pls...
  24. Hey guys, would it be possible to get Gametrailers scripting in? Or do we have it already? If we do can we have a button? I'm guessing that the script is there already as it's being used on the news pages already on the front site.
  25. There's a trailer which is one long FMV: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44918.html The insulting thing is that all of that looks like very possible graphics for a PS3 game maybe even 360. Looks like the video almost uses the Uncharted engine ffs.... I'm going to quote Yahtzi for this one: "Indiana Jones in a Fridge Award for Franchise Murder". How fitting.
