Man, the eShop has been running like syrup since the update. At least for me anyway.

River City Girls getting good reviews and it’s out tomorrow. £27 though...

Hasn’t it been a year or so since Switch Online launched? They really need to announce something that gets people to sign up for another year, most people will say SNES games, but I think it’ll be more likely another freebie online title like Tetris 99.

Heave Ho (released today, 10% off at £8.09) is a great game to play couch multiplayer. An absolute scream. Me and the missus have been in hysterics playing it

Very dark day for football. The unsustainable model of the modern game, clubs spending money they don’t have just in order to compete has claimed Bury and in 14 days will likely claim us too. I always said once we lost the backing of Eddie Davies, the massive wages and fees we were spending on players under the Allardyce, Megson and Coyle era just wasn’t sustainable and we were in for an almighty fall. I just never thought it would come to this. And the sad thing about it is while mega money is being thrown about in the top division, thanks to the likes of Sky, many more clubs will likely fall victim to poor financial management unless major reforms are made. Most clubs are potentially vulnerable should the owner walk away.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20th 2019)
Dog-amoto replied to Julius's topic in General Chit Chat
Finding it a bit annoying that some news sites have posted what could be a considerable spoiler in their headlines from the D23 sizzle reel. Also find it hard to believe that Disney would give away such a big spoiler as well unless it’s just misdirection. -
Ewan McGregor to reprise his role in an Obi-Wan series as well. Just hope he gets time to do the oft rumoured Long Way Up which is supposed to be happening this year. Disney+ is looking amazing. Shame they haven’t announced UK details yet.

Ooh. Was that the Geisha lady on the tv at the end? Cracking game, loved the first one so happy about this. Looks to be co-op as well.

No sign of Untitled Goose Game though...

Yeah I feel the same. Ori is a great game, I played it again recently but yes, playing Hollow Knight since has taken the shine off somewhat. I’m sure Will of the Wisps will be great though. The Touryst looked interesting, but there wasn’t much else that excited me here.

Confirmed for Switch as well as PS4/Xbox One New character, Cherry Hunter. Still no release window.

Got to be during the Indie Showcase, right??

Very odd question I know, but has anyone licked a Switch game card? I didn’t know they had a special coating on them to stop young kids putting them in their mouths. I read about it the other day and had to try it out It’s disgusting haha.

I feel a bit like that @MindFreak I started with a new train company last year and with it being a totally different culture than my last one, I’m finding it a little hard to click with people, and a lot of the catering staff don’t seem to like drivers for some reason, possibly because some can be quite arrogant I suppose. The company is so much better, the trains are nicer and the pay and perks are much better, when I’ve been there two years, I’ll be on about 20 grand more than I was on at my last place, but I’m sometimes still left wondering if I made the right choice in that respect, I miss a lot of my old colleagues and the banter we had in the mess room. But I spend most of my time on my own anyway so it’s not a massive issue I guess. I have to spend about a year learning routes, I can now drive to London and that on my own, but I’m still learning all the many diversionary routes. A few of the drivers I’ve spoken to in that time have said that they felt the same in the first year, wondering if they’ve made the right decision but now they love being here, so there’s hope I suppose.

Picked this up in the sale yesterday. I’m sure there’s a good game in there somewhere but I’m finding it so frustrating at the moment. Of course, I’m used to the Arkham combat and accept that fighting as Spider-Man will be different as you can’t just hold your ground as Batman does. But would it have hurt to have the option to remap the controls? Keep pressing triangle to dodge which, granted is happening less and less now, but the whole dodge mechanic seems broken to me as your Spidey sense goes off when you’re nowhere near an enemy and you can dodge one attack only to get hit by another seemingly unavoidable one. This, coupled with the fact you die with only a few hits is making the game too hard for me and I’ve had to set it to Friendly mode which is disheartening as I’m no expert gamer but I can handle most games on normal mode at least. It wouldn’t be as bad if they introduced enemy types gradually, but they throw armed, shielded, RPG, Brute and grenade enemies at you all at once right from the off, without really giving you chance to hone your skills. I can imagine it getting a bit easier once you unlock skills, but it all seems very unbalanced to me. Like I said, I really want to enjoy this game and I am having fun with most of it. But I hate the combat with a passion.

Was hoping for this to be on Game Pass soon, and no doubt it will be now after I picked it up in the sale. Put a couple of hours in last night. Played the original to death so looking forward to seeing how this stacks up. Enjoying what I’ve seen so far. Not encountered Mr X yet but one thing that concerns me is I can imagine the stalking can get pretty annoying after a while. Is it a constant thing throughout the game or do you get breaks from him? I’m fine with being chased and that, but I’d like the opportunity to explore at my own pace.

I managed to resist the temptation to buy Resident Evil 4 when it was on sale, fantastic game though it is, I just wasn’t going to pay £20 for it. So I was happy to see it released on Game Pass last week so I blitzed through it once again. What a game! For all its flaws, and dated controls, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I then decided to download 5 afterwards. I played it once when it originally came out on 360 but I can’t believe how much of a backwards step it took. Sure, some of the game is great fun, dispatching a group of enemies with the shotgun is satisfying as ever, but what were they thinking with the inventory system? After the great attaché cases in 4, the fact you can’t upgrade your storage after collecting more weapons is awful. Speaking of which, having to trade items with your partner in the middle of a battle is a major exercise in frustration. And that brings me onto the biggest problem with this game, your partner. It completely lacks any of the heart pounding tension of the previous game due to the fact you’ve always got someone with you. The AI is truly terrible - she’ll be fighting a boss with a handgun when I’ve given her a perfectly good shotgun or grenade launcher and she always manages to get in the way when I’ve lined up a headshot. This coupled with the fact that the locations are nowhere near as interesting as 4, and the boss fights are mostly terrible means that I can’t recommend this one at all. Ive posted this in this thread as 5 is due to come out for Switch later this year and I was thinking of picking it up, as I thought this would be a good game to take anywhere but am glad I didn’t now.

Yeah, Game Pass is great and all but I reckon it harms sales of other games. Example, I want Resident Evil 2 remake but I have a suspicion it’ll be on Game Pass before the year is out.
