Today is the one year anniversary of the reveal of the Switch. I.e. one year ago, we got this: Quite the year!

The quality of that graphic is pretty scary too
  3. 4 points
The only scary thing about it will be the lack of any decent discounts.

Sunshine is a horrible game to 100%. Those Blue Coins are just flat out unfun to find.

To be fair, while the other consoles don't have their own killer exclusive, they do have a great 3rd party line up of titles. These types of games typically sell well during the holiday period and help push sales of the consoles. Call of Duty is returning to it's roots, Battlefront 2 will be riding the Last Jedi hype train, Assassin's Creed is returning after a years break and Wolfenstein is a sequel to a critically acclaimed game. Either way, I think no matter the console you own, it's going to be a good Christmas for gamers.

Look like there are no Festival of the Lost (D1's Halloween event) this year which is odd since it's about honors and celebrates the spirits of the dead, Guardian and citizen alike. Guess the Sparrow Racing League won't make an appearance this Dec as well. Bungie got so many things to improve the endgame between now and next 2 DLCs. They need to expanding the weapon/armour mod system instead of have 3 elemental damage and kinetic damage. Maybe improve range/impact etc or adding an extra perk like more damages against cabal/hives/fallen/vex etc. At least I don't have to putting alot of hours in D2 like I did with D1. Also we need to arrange a raid for the folks who haven't done a raid. We got halfway through before everyone's schedules made it impossible to continue. Also no Trials for next 2 weeks because of Monty Python walk emote glitch. :| @Nolan @Rummy

Fantastic news for people who like physical games! For those who don't know, these guys take digital only games and give them limited physical releases. They've been doing this for PS4 games for a while now.

We don't talk about the Wii U

I found Star 242 and the final challenges of 3D World to be masterpieces. They were the accumulation of everything you had learned in those games and I didn't think there was anything unfair or frustrating about them. Sure, they took a while to master but there was an immense sense of satisfaction once you completed them. It was all about precision platforming and speed in some parts of the stages.

Yeah, absolutely brilliant. It can be pretty tricky to find the capture button during gameplay (using traditional controls at least) especially at 200cc! I managed to grab one particular clip mid-game though, where a Green Shell decided to act like a Red one. AKA major lag. Will post it later. Anyway, cheers everyone. That was a great laugh! Good job recreating the Miis too. *EDIT* Lag Shell : Geoffrey, Blue Shell dodging like a boss : *EDIT 2* Wow. Switch captures do not look good at that size.

You mean it wasn't worth all the research and development that went into it just to eat virtual sandwiches?

So yeah, this is completely off-topic, but a couple of days ago, my mother informed me of a video-game question on one of those many ITV quiz shows she watches. She does it all the time to see if I know my stuff. Anyway, the latest one she saw was a bizarre one, which I'm amazed they expected anyone to know. It was something along the lines of "Which Video Game series feature the villainous amphibian, King Wart?" Obviously, I knew it because I'm such a nerd, the person who was asked guessed Pac-Man. What a horribly obscure question. So why am I bringing it up? Just letting @markderoos know that even ITV acknowledge him more than Nintendo.

Seems like Destiny players are going through the same feelings MMO players do. After 100+ hours of game play, some want more new content. Others get burnt out or need a break after so much time spent. This is not unusual at all. I think console players still are not used to pauses and gaps. Hallows end should be here soon and then WInterfest etc. whatever Destiny calls them.

@Hero-of-Time unintentionally got me to play Mario 64 again. Started at around 4, just reached the credits. This game's great to blitz through.

One year since the reveal of the Switch name and some games that said may not be released (but were) and then three months until some actual details. That was a weird unveiling. Worked out though!

January is a cert, a few announcements, virtual console and online set up too! Hopefully another (and much better) system update as well but unlikely
  23. 1 point
Maybe, but having to do everything perfect in one go (which is what they were) is frustrating in a very unique way.

That IS super weird! I didn't check it out til yesterday I don't think so didn't know it was anything else before. Is it related to the glitches at all? Usually I go to @DriftKaiser with any Destiny doubts as he's quite on the ball - any idea on the NF changes Drift? EDIT: this is an article from 3 days ago so I'm presuming it was related to this glitch not being fixed? http://comicbook.com/gaming/2017/10/18/destiny-2-exodus-crash-prestige-nightfall-strike-broken-fix/#1 NonethelessssI'm preferring Pyramidion - I actually ran it again as Titan via LFG just to help some folks out and also did it with my Hunter via LFG. I'm tempted to help folks out again tonight via LFG and Titan just because it's such delightful mayhem with the Torrent and grenades.

What's perhaps most impressive is the fact that every game in that initial reveal video is now either out or almost out within a year on from that reveal and certainly within the first year of the actual release of the console.

I never played Galaxy 2 either. I got it for the WiiU a while back but didn't play for more than 20 minutes. I wasn't a fan of the Galaxy games really. I much prefered 64 and Sunshine, Galaxy felt too linear. I'd love a more open world Mario title, set exclusively in the Mushroom Kingdom, with plenty of linear, difficult platforming sections to be found. I always loved the cartoon as a kid and just wanted to explore the whole Kingdom.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the Switch did better than the others at Christmas, but mostly because its the first Christmas vs the 4th

Had a scare just now. Switch would come on but not show anything on screen apart from the menu when you press the home button. Even pressing and holding power wouldn’t let me restart the console. Luckily force shutting down by holding the power button for a longer time worked. Remeber to to get your Switch and Game updated guys. I’ll be there Racing as Will in a Kirby suit.

My flight to Corfu last week was delayed by 3 hours and 20 minutes. This means due to EU laws I'm due 400 Euro compensation! The entire holiday only came to about £500 so I'm making over half of it back. The time we missed was raining in Corfu anyway so absolutely delighted at this outcome.

Looks like a couple of mini games have been added to the Switch versions. The first game looks garbage but the second one looks to be a brilliant homage to G&G.

Well... not content with taking... long enough to install the 50GB of data required for Forza 7 and after updating the console and the new controller plus all other updates/games that I wanted to install while I was there to avoid doing it next time. I thought to myself... let's play a quick game of Forza 7 to see what it's like... *clicks launch* back to dashboard *clicks launch again* 32.01GB update!!! *sigh* Oh well... back to playing on my Switch. Then some Forza 7 sometime before midnight... possibly. In fairness, the new dashboard is at least better and everything is a bit quicker, so there's that.

Pretty sure during the Wii U's first Christmas that it got outsold by the PS3 and 360, which were in their 6th and 7th years. Doesn't look like it was what people were expecting/hoping for.
