So I visited Gamescom yesterday since I could go there with my work. I only had about 3,5 hours on the floor itself, so me and some colleagues rushed past all the booths to get a general feel of the event. Huge stages from Blizzard, Square-Enix, Ubisoft and EA. Playstation focused mostly on PSVR, while Microsoft didn't let me see the XBox One X since it was invitational only. Naturally I lingered a bit longer at the Nintendo booth! Last year Nintendo's stand was almost nonexistent so it was great to see they were there now with a big and busy stand. Unfortunately cues for the big titles such as Metroid, Mario Odyssey and FE Warriors were all 1+ hours, so I had no time to go hands-on. But I can give you some photo impressions of the booth! Rabbids was a part of Ubisoft gigantic stand: And on the Nintendo stand Rabbids were also present: One-hour cue for Samus Returns. Take note Nintendo, Samus is still very popular, so hurry up with Prime 4! Lines for Fifa on Switch as well: Overall look of Ninty's hangout: https://www.dropbox.com/s/924ckjjhlojnbz3/P_20170826_132923_vHDR_On.jpg?raw=1 Met the man himself!

Yup. It's exactly what I've been wanting on the Switch. So far the system has lacked a meaty single player exclusive game and this is finally filling that gap in the software library. I was on the game for a solid 12 hours straight, yesterday. I couldn't put the thing down. There's so much to do and the challenge on offer is very refreshing. I'm gonna get all my jobs done for the day, get some breakfast, watch Dragon Ball Super and then crack back on with the game.

Well. It's about time I posted in this thread with sonething. Tuesday I went to London, with my parents and checked into the hospital at 7am. I met with my surgeon and the consultants ready for my surgery. At 11am I was wheeled away and the next thing I know I'm waking up in reocvery. Apparently it took 2 hours to do the surgery, however, due to a sigficant amount of blood loss my time in the recovery area was three hours. To say my mum was a little bit maniac was an understatement. The surgery itself was good. My fibroid was removed and it came to 6 inches long (the same size as the cut) I also had all my endometriosis removed and an ovarian cyst drained. If the cyst had been removed I'd have been left with a hysterectomy which I wasn't quite ready for. After Tuesday to Friday in the hospital I discharged myself (I spoke to my surgeon and nurses please do not worry I was given the ok to make the decision!) And I'm now back home with quite the horrific pictures! Glad for it to be finally over, in three months I will need a scan to see if more surgery is needed but otherwise I should hopefully never have to do this again

Now don't panic, I'll show you exactly what you need to do...

Absolutely but there is a pay off if you do them early on. When you finish the challenges you get stuff that enhances your skills and cash. This can really help you in the main levels. It's a nice balance, I think. Do you push on and skip the challenges or do you give them a go and power yourself up for the main missions?

Dude Sonic Mania is like game of the year material! Check out the thread for it over in Nintendo boards. Most people seem to be discussing it there. It won't disappoint anyway!

I own it and absolutely love it. But I love it half an hour into the test punch, so if that didn’t work for you... the game definitely doesn’t feel like luck though, I actually think there’s a surprising amount of depth to the game.

Thanks for the tips @S.C.G! I've owned cats, but this was at my parents' house so not my full responsibility. Ideally if we get two cats, I'd look for them to be from the same litter or having been brought in from the same house or something. The Cats Protection website usually mentions when the cats are related to each other, which is useful. I think we'll have to see if we can fit 2 litter trays, as we have literally no space downstairs to put one (no downstairs toilet, no space in the kitchen or living room). They would have to go upstairs, but not sure how I feel about putting one in the (future) guest bedroom. At my parents we only had one litter box for 4 cats, but they went outside a lot (and sometimes accidents did happen inside the house, which I want to avoid). I think we would have to cat-proof our sofa somehow... we bought it new and it's a lovely fabric, which I'm sure any cat would love to put their claws into haha. No carpets anywhere though, I might have to get a small rug for the cats to lay on in front of the sofa or something. Though we had the neighbour's cat in earlier and he/she seemed fine just laying around on our laminate floor! I actually work from home so I would be home most of the time to look after the cats. We would just have to find a solution for when we go on holidays (don't have family or friends around here, hmm).

OK, let's just paws for thought for a second... Two cats can work quite well, if they are already familiar with each other - say if they both come from the same Cat's Home for instance - then that could work but if you get one and then try to introduce another, just be careful how you go about it. As for the angle of two cats being too much to handle, well... there is that, but as long as they get along and providing your house is reasonably "cat proof" - a term which is a bit of an oxymoron for any house which has a cat really as if there are places they can get into, then they will - then you'll probably be fine so long as you have the time to look after them, if there is at least one person at home for at least a good few hours in the day then that should be fine. Litter trays... get two, one for each cat if you can, we keep hours in the downstairs bathroom as it makes life easier, buy really solid litter tray liners as Cats will tend to shred them as they dig around a lot, as for Cat litter... Catsan I guess? Don't bother with a Cat bed unless you can get one cheap, chances are they will want to sleep on either the sofa or the bed or a cushion or... anything soft which is stationary for long enough. Cat food... if you're lucky they will settle on one brand of cat food, if you give them sachets for their main meals, cat biscuits in a seperate bowl plus a few treats every now and then, that'll probably work out but each cat is different. Scratching posts are useful, don't expect them to last very long though and even then they might go for carpet - if there is any - or the sofa if it has got "clawable" material. Vets... yeah... get the cats microchipped if they are likely to wander off I suppose, injections if they are likely to be off out mixing with other cats and you may want to get them speyed/neutered if you don't want kittens. A lot of responsibility, yes... but they are worth it, anyway I wish you both the best of luck and I hope some of this information helps. Also, don't forget... payment in the form of cat pictures, in this thread please... kthanksbai.

And that's both my superbonuses gotten. Great working with you, @Sméagol, as always. I should probably work on unlocking League Battle so I can team up with some N-Europers and make more normal modes more fun.

Cat owners, some advice needed please! I think we are ready to get our own cat(s)! We always said we wanted two cats, but I am worried we might be getting a bit too much to handle... maybe? How does it work with litter trays, would we need more than one if we got two cats? Or might one be enough if it is cleaned daily? Because we are a bit limited for space; I already have to try and figure out where we can put 1 tray (no space in kitchen, so possibly would have to go in my office or the spare room). Any tips for the type of litter tray and filling to get? Also need to look at cat beds and a scratching post! And cat food and bowls and all the other stuff needed! And a vet! Oh god, all the responsibilities! D:

Should have listened to my great-grandmother. "Never send friend requests to people with unconfirmed identities", was what she always used to say. Edit: Staying home after all. Will open up a room for Salmon Run at 20:00 UK.. Unless people want to try a league battle? I'll probably catch a bit of the Global testpunch before that.

They could but they won't. All of these were issues in the first game but none of them got fixed/changed for the sequel.
  22. 1 point
You have the same issue I do with the Mega Drive games. The further I get, the less fun I start having. I put it down to the increasing amount of times you inevitably run into an ememy/spikes/etc with absolutely no chance of you seeing it coming.

I put a little time into the game this morning. It's great! I set about creating my character and had a quick go of a tournament. I'm sure the character creator section offers a lot more than the beta did. I love how your golf clubs level up when making a nice shot. It makes tournaments worthwhile, even if you lose you get something out of it. I checked the online mode, Cookyman and everything is up and running. Looks like there is a fair few people who also got the game early.

It's okay you're allowed to be drunk in all threads. You just aren't allowed to be belligerently drunk outside of the drunken thread. So perusing the store I noticed Sonic Mania. Has anyone checked it out at all? It looks like it's basically a half remix of the original games with some new ideas thrown in. Which sounds like a good thing if the movement physics all feel good and the levels are designed in a fun manner.

Awesome news, glad it all went well. My good news isn't quite as impressive, but 2 weeks off work. First week my girlfriend's dads are staying with us, then we're off to Barcelona for the second week.

I somehow completely missed that Jak and Daxter were getting the PS2 PS4 rerelease treatment. I'm actually still lamenting that Sony decided to nix that specific category from the store and just mixing those games in with every else. I've never played the Jak games so I picked this up right away. Maybe one day I'll get the PS3 collection....and maybe one day I'll go back and finish the Ratchet and Clank collection... I'm still slowly plinking away at FFXII via my Vita currently. Which means I've neglected Pyre and Hellblade.... :/

I've been playing 7 hours straight. I'm currently kicking around the second world at the moment. I got perfect in every stage before moving on to the next world. The challenges that you get to do are....well, challenging. Even the first one gave me a bit of trouble.

Both Simply Games and Shopto ( ordered from both in an attempt to get it early ) came through! That's my bank holiday sorted.

I've finally started playing! Just beat the first three levels and had a big fat stupid grin on my face the whole time (literally couldn't stop smiling ) What a pure joy this game is! I waited 23 years for this and it absolutely hits the nail on the head! This is absolutely the SEGA Saturn Sonic we never got! It's so on point it hurts! And for those saying it does nothing new? What a bunch of bull! Even the remixed classic stages are loaded with fresh ideas, new never-before-seen gimmicks and gameplay we've never seen before in a Sonic game! (like the chemical mixing in Chemical Plant Zone and the ziplines in Green Hill) My biggest fear was that the old stages would just feel like re-treads, but that's absolutely not the case here! There's tons of new ideas that spice up and re-invent the classic stages, especially in Chemical Plant Zone (Oh and BTW, they were right. The end stage boss absolutely lives up to the hype! ) Speaking of which, I can't believe that every stage has a boss! Even Act 1! And the bosses themselves are absolutely outstanding! Some of the very best in the series for sure! The visuals are a perfect representation of what a Saturn Sonic game would've been like, right down to the low poly/low res 3D parts! I love it! And the new special stage is great! Right up there with blue spheres and the Sonic 2 ring tunnel! Oh, did I mention that the soundtrack is amazing? 'Cause it is! I've never been a fan of the Sonic CD soundtrack (US or JPN), but this takes all the good bits about it and uses it to craft something that sounds so perfectly 90s pop, yet perfectly Sonic. This is going on my iPhone soundtrack list for sure! The sheer love overflowing from this game just brings joy to my heart! I can't do justice to how happy it makes me to finally see it come to life! It's something very very special to any fan of the blue-blur's TRUE classics! A true successor to S3&K and Starfox SNES in the same year!? Pinch me I must be dreaming! Completely agreed. It's worthy of the hype and then some! I came in with sky high expectations and it has still blown me away! And it absolutely does bring plenty of new ideas to the table, fitting perfectly alongside the MD classics!
