Retro_Link Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 lol, Gametrailers came up with this countdown Any personal favs? :p Tree based levels/memories. How about first time you climbed one of these bad boys and did a handstand... When this sight greeted you... And ok it's more than one tree, but how about
Retro_Link Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 haha, Being Xenoblade is that climbable? Is there a view from the top?
Tales Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 There's a whole city inside of it. And you can climb all the way to the top, where there's a lake even. Can't exactly remember if you have (good) view, but I think so.
Sheikah Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Banjo Kazooie, the tree in Click Clock Wood. One of my favourite levels in a platformer, no doubt.
bob Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 My least favourite trees were the indestructible saplings that could stop a truck traveling at 100mph in any of the GTA games.
Retro_Link Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Banjo Kazooie, the tree in Click Clock Wood. One of my favourite levels in a platformer, no doubt.I was just about to post that one! SUCH a great level! Coming back to it in different seasons and seeing how it's all changed, meeting new characters, characters growing up, doing different tasks... I need to buy and replay Banjo Kazooie sometime!
Ike Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 The main hub town in Dragon Quest Monsters 1 was built inside a tree (can't find any decent pics).
Jonnas Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Did you know that the main villain in Final Fantasy V is a tree? Also, the video compares the Iifa Tree in Final Fantasy IX to those life-giving trees in other RPGs, but I always thought it was creepy how this grotesque tree is actually a parasite that's slowly killing the world, not the other way around. A nice subversion.
Serebii Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) What an unusual topic haha Simple. Trevenant Actually been raising one lately and it's good and annoying to opponents. I can remember the hype in the build up to it before we got the first picture (we only went via second hand reports from the trailer). Then we got the trailer weeks later It's also pretty brutal according to the Pokédex: It can control trees at will. It will trap people who harm the forest, so they can never leave. Now, let's get the Pokédex entry of its pre-evolution, Phantump According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest. Pokémon can really be brutal and dark... Though really, these are spirits possessing trees and stumps, but it counts :p Edited April 27, 2014 by Serebii
Retro_Link Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 No love for this guy? Oh yeah absolutely he'd be my first choice, but he was No.1 in the Gametrailers video so didn't mention him myself. Not only is he the best tree but that has to be one of the best starts to a game ever!
The Peeps Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 ah right, I didn't watch the video until after I'd posted lol
Goafer Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Ugly as sin, but a bastard to navigate when I was younger. And apologies for Big the cat. There were no other pictures.
RogerFederer Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Hi everyone, Roger Federer here. My favorite gaming trees are the trees from 'Proteus' and the large tree in the background of Blanka's stage in Street Fighter 2. Thanks, Roger Federer
