Summer: June, July, August. So they've got about 3 weeks to get that update sorted...

Most of June is actually Spring. As I said before, Summer:

June 21st - September 20th

Maybe in North America, yes, but not in here or elsewhere:

According to meteorologists,[4][5] summer extends for the whole months of June, July, and August in the northern hemisphere
The meteorological reckoning of seasons is used in Austria, Denmark and the former Soviet Union; it is also used by many in the United Kingdom, where summer is thought of as extending from mid-May to mid-August.
In Ireland, the summer months according to the national meteorological service, Met Éireann, are June, July and August.
In Chinese astronomy, summer starts on or around 5 May, with the jiéqì (solar term) known as lìxià (立夏), i.e. "establishment of summer", and it ends on or around 6 August.
In southern and southeast Asia, where the monsoon occurs, summer is more generally defined as lasting from March to May/early June, the warmest time of the year, ending with the onset of the monsoon rains. (le wikipedia)
So screw NA,

THIS!

IS!

EUROOOOOOOOOOPE!

Although I'm pretty scared that by "summer" Nintendo really meant this:

December, January, and February in the southern hemisphere

The astronomical summer (Northern Hemisphere) 2013 began on Friday, June 21 and ends on Saturday, September 21

It ALWAYS starts on the Summer Solstice, as Winter starts on the Winter Solstice. This is a fact

Yes, but who cares about the astronomical summer? It's the meteorological summer, i.e. temperature, that counts, and that summer is indeed June, July and August. #seasonsporn

Summer in the gaming world = 3rd quarter surely, which means July/August/September which coincides with the true, astronomical Northern hemisphere summer anyway :D

Remember, Nintendo are in their own little bubble. They clearly have a different time scale to the rest of the world. Kinda how a launch window lasted for months on end. :D

Actually the launch window is as long as they said it would be, some games were just delayed outside of it.

In before the Serebii.

To quote Miyamoto and Serbii as he seems to use it a bunch.

"A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever."

Dunno what the hell happened to Wario Ware Wii U then. :D

I seriously hate the term 'launch window'. It gives them far too much wiggle room. Which company was the first to spin this nonsense? I prefer launch games and leave it at that.
