There's something about this. Haunting isn't the right word, but something kinda ethereal. I like her diction/use of words in it. Nothing particularly new, but I like it.

Also I LOVE that the producer of the backing track is credited as a featured artist...in the current climate of aping/sampling/stealing known-to-be-popular backing tracks to get a fleeting hit, at least Avicii is mentioned. I wasn't aware of the original song ('Penguins'), but now maybe more people will be. Well done, Leona. :)

Illinois is still my favorite album of his and this has to be the pick of the tracks, been listening to the album while working recently and had to post. It's hauntingly beautiful and if people don't know tells the true story of serial killer of the same name John Wayne Gacy, Jr.

Loved this song since the moment I heard it.

Here's the song during the part from the movie where it's taken from.

I still get goose bumps whenever I hear this. It's beautiful. It sounds stupid, but it makes me proud to be human whenever I hear it, how amazing we are that can compose something like this.

There probably isn't a bigger fan of Charlie Simpson on N-Europe so I thought I'd post all the songs from his album Young Pilgrim which was released on Monday. It actually arrived for me last Saturday so I've been listening to it a lot over the past week and think most of it is really good :hehe:

I had a bit of a soft spot for Busted in my younger days and then Fightstar came along and gave me music that I could truly embrace unlike anything before with lyrics I could relate to.

Young Pilgrim is obviously a considerably different sound to Grand Unification, One Day Son This Will All Be Yours and Be Human and, for me, further highlights how talented and versatile Charlie Simpson is. Whatever the case, it is another album that really speaks to me

It won't be for everyone, but I wouldn't have it any other way :heh:

Well, having heard you speak so highly of it - I gave it a listen.

One word:

Brilliant.

Thanks for posting. It's a great album. Very talented guy.

I'm glad someone else appreciates it, @Aneres11 :hehe: It's my favourite album this year and I'm still listening to it on a regular basis in the car! A lot of it really strikes a chord with me..

Do you like Fightstar at all?

I haven't actually heard any of their stuff to be honest!

I have Spotify though, so I will definitely look into them.

From my small understanding though, they are much 'heavier' sounding?

I'll give it a whirl though! You may have introduced me to more great music! Again!

Fightstar are certainly a different sound to what you'll have heard from Charlie Simpson's solo material.. but I find them brilliant too :hehe: It also highlights just how versatile the guy is

Here are a couple of examples of their work that hopefully you'll appreciate :heh:

There's also this song which is possibly my favourite closing track to any album ever! It may start slowly but it builds up to a powerful crescendo

I'll let you discover the rest of their songs by yourself if they sound of interest to you as they're probably best experienced by listening to each album..

She does amaze me. Song writing ability is fantastic.

Apparently this video was one of the most expensive ever made around the time.

Took 2 days to film but 6 weeks to complete the special effects!

I love all the mystical characters she plays in it too - she looks stunning!

This is a great song.

Wish she would write new music!!

My favourite ever song by her is The Analyst. Amazing.

Have you guys heard her last album 'Delta'?

That is very good indeed.

Not as good in my opinion as her debut, but still a great album to own.

Spotify all the way for free listening!

She was supposed to release a new album in 2011 but nothing so far has been confirmed or denied. Nor have we heard any tracks from her.

Guess i'll just have to be patient!

To keep with the thread topic, i'm loving Rihanna's new track.

It's been produced by Calvin Harris and will be the single to launch her 6th studio album to be relased in November.

Called 'We Found Love'. It's a grower.

This isn't the best version:
