Voted the second worst road in the UK

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6398151.stm

The only two roads (without taking a 30 mile detour) I can take from Glasgow back to Balfron are both on the list of Scotland's most dangerous roads 2012.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-14590493

The A809 (The Stockiemuir road, or just The Stockie) in particular is really bad. Loads of small sharp corners after long stretches of open roads always throw people from the city who are coming out into the country and there are parts where more often than not there's a car in the field. That corner doesn't even look that bad on the map but there are always cars going off the road.

I personally didn't think the A81 was too bad until I saw it in this article but apparently it is. They fixed what I thought was the only bad stretch in it a couple of years ago which was really just one corner.

Spent the day playing the Wii U and games. Fun times.

Also realised that I've booked the week off for my mother's wedding but it's during the Olympics, which we're allowed to work from home for. Going to say I'm doing that and get those holiday days back!

Upon reflection this week should be good. Yesterday I met Tom (former EIC of this place) for lunch, today (see above) and tomorrow I'm going to a screening of, and Q&A with the people behind, Disney's new short 'Paperman'. People from uni and my director friend is going so should be a good crowd too :)

Going down to London tomorrow to stay at a friends. My best friends girlfriend's birthday thing is tomorrow, and that promises to be uncontrollably fucked up. After that going to toke some fat J's and play videogames for a few days. Excite.

Only for 8 weeks, but my god..I'm like...0.o.

I know there's a lot of places to visit, but I was wondering if you recommend any foody type places I should definitely visit? (this goes for everyone).

I haven't, furthest I have been is Spain/Sweden. So it's a new thing for me to be going and specifically for so long.

I'm certainly going to the most tourist places, but food wise me and my friends/work buddies are a bit stumped, so that list certainly helps.

My apartment:

I'll make sure to write those down. :)

Do you have another job to fall back on? If not, that sounds..... daft?

I have reason to believe Daft will be okay for a little bit.

Quiet you.

I am going for another job (which I have a lot of things going for me to get). My friend is there (he's been bigging me up) and it's for quite a specialist position which I'm perfect for and they're keen to see me - they've been trying to find someone for the position for about 10 months, too. I'm going to sort that out next week, if it goes well then ME GUSTA. It'll probably be way less money but it would just be a really good move for me in terms of professional progression (not to mention intellectually more stimulating).

If not, I will probably stay where I am. The money's amazing so that'll comfort me, but with my friend being made redundant - well that was the last in a long line of things pissing me off.

So it's not definite but I don't want to think about not getting it right now because work is grim at the moment - there's a real lack of morale. We shall see.

I've been told that my contract at work was getting some improvement. I'm currently on .75 of a full-time contract, but I was told it would be improved a little for next year. I checked out my timetable today and it turns out the Deputy Headteacher has given me a full-time contract! As well as full-time to two of my part-time friends at work, too. So fucking awesome. Really happy. Should mean that I can start living a little, rather than have to worry so much.

My day at work was confusing as I walked in wearing a black shirt and got told that it wasn't black enough.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut no you had to order DAH BIG SALADDDDDDDD.

sorry had to get that out of my system.

So yeah I actually fully paid for my travelling tickets. I will be off to Japan, Australia, New Zealand and USA by the end of the year.:bouncy:

I'm going to die.

Damn Nightwolf, that's a mighty fine place to be living in a mighty fine city to live in.

Thank you. I feel a little too dirty and studenty to be living there, but I'm going to make video diaries/take piccies, just so I don't forget everything.

Good idea. It really is as amazing as it seems.

Shit me sideways, that location is epic. You're on 42nd Street and literally 4 block west of Times Square. You are the jammiest of jammy bastards. That's so incredibly unfair, I want to live in New York City for 8 weeks!

The tourist most people miss is the Top of the Rock - the open air observation deck on the top of the GE building at 40 Rockafeller Plaza (yes, that 40Rock). Crucially, it's open later than the Empire State Building, and I can tell you from first hand experience the view of NYC after dark from that height is not one you forget.

Oh, and a walk up the Avenue of the Americas (6th, irrc) from Fort Clinton on the southern tip of Manhattan up to Central Park is great for the "concrete canyon" feeling. That, and it's unmistakably New York. And therefore inherently cool.

I cannot express quite how jealous I am.

Parents finally put their hands in their pockets and paid for something for graduation: my suit. £250. Thanks very much :D Very nice suit as well. Unfortunately, it highlights the fact I'm in severe need of a hair cut. The 'Jesus' hair style really needs to go

Also, party tonight! Pre-grad psychology party with free drink and food! The first of many parties to be had this coming week. Fun times ahoy :yay:
