Ike
I tell you what, the battery life in the 3DS is garbage. I haven't really noticed this until recently, due to me playing long sessions on various games. I charged it last night, woke up this morning and started playing it at 6:30, it's now 9:30 and the battery light is on red. That's without using the 3D function either. It seems weird as Nintendo are usually spot on when it comes to battery life, yet both the 3DS and GamePad are really shoddy when it comes to this. It's a shame the new 3DS doesn't seem to fix this issue either. 6:30? What's wrong with you? :p The 3DS doesn't have great battery life but you shouldn't be getting 3 hours, what screen brightness are you on and how old id is your 3DS? It's a launch model with brightness set at 4. Still, the battery should be better than 3 hours. I have a PSP that's older than this that has a better battery life. As mentioned by others, the Vita battery life is also far superior. Crazy that it's took me this long to actually notice this.

My PSP's battery certainly doesn't last 3 hours. More like 1. :p Try lowering your screen brightness to 2 or something. If it's a launch model the battery probably has degraded though. Maybe an excuse to upgrade to a New 3DS.

Grazza
Hmm, as @Ike said, it does sound like a battery degradation issue, H-o-T. Unless you were playing online? Could be the Wi-Fi draining it. I'm still on the fence as whether to get the NEW model on Friday. Part of me wants it but sensible part of me cant justify dropping £180 on something that is pretty much the same as what I've got. Same here, although it's worse for me as I've already bought two! Out of interested, have you ever been interested in the XL, or do you prefer to keep it portable? Personally, if I only had the launch model and not an XL, I'd love that as an excuse to get the New 3DS.

I'm not a fan of how bulky it is either, which doesn't really make sense as it's probably a better fit for my man sized hands.
Aneres11
pretty much the same as what I've got. This is funny as that is my actual dog. Haha. Countless meme creations. Anyway. I get what you mean as they virtually do the same things. But don't underestimate the brilliance of the New 3ds. The reason I like it so much over my original model is because it removes all that was annoying. The bottom screen imprinting on the top screen when it was closed and opened. Slightly bigger form factor so no more hand cramps with prolonged use. None glossy finish so doesn't look mucky all the time. (Anyone mentions my mucky hands and dirty controllers I'll hunt you down ) But the greatest of all is how great the new 3ds performs. It's soooo much quicker. Like amazingly so. If you use Miiverse a lot you will love this. And if you don't, then you may well start to! The only thing I'm not a fan of is that new stylus! If GAME or somewhere are doing a trade in deal with old 3ds' (which I imagine they will ) then I'd definitely take the plunge. It's worth it for the SNES coloured buttons alone. : peace:

If you upgraded a new 3ds XL I think you'd find it a huge huge difference. The massive screens are quite something if you're not used to them. I upgraded to an xl, then downsized to a normal new, needed those faceplates. And every time I look at my girlfriends 3ds xl I get serious screen envy... The new 3d may be better for you too, giving you a reason to go back and play everything again in 3d!

Jimbob
That's not on for Nintendo, i'm hoping they don't go like that for Majora's Mask for me. Got Monster Hunter 4 and the New 3DS ordered from other stores.

Agent Gibbs
I wouldn't put too much weight on those estimates, I ordered the MM 3DS which has a dispatch estimate of the 13th and separately long before that i'd ordered the Majora's Mask Steel Book....that has an expected dispatch date of 30th JUNE 2015....so either those estimates are to be taken with a pinch of salt, or i'm not getting that majora's mask for a good 4 months

Shorty
@kav82 - the website still shows the same info for me too, it's only emails so far that have new info. I ordered within seconds of it going live, if that makes a difference. Just got an email from the Hut Group saying it will be delivered tomorrow! Kav
Hopefully I'll be getting an email shortly as it wasn't saying it was out of stock when I ordered it and it was relatively quick. Thanks @Shorty! My Nintendo Store page now says awaiting despatch as opposed to awaiting stock pick, as it did prior. Well that's for the New3DS, still awaiting stock pick on the power adaptor... they'd not ship separately will they? I'll have to wait for the adaptor to be in stock and then they'd be delivered together(expected despatch is 17/3), right? Mr-Paul
Sounds like you'll all be getting it tomorrow! Jealous!
