Nintendo Switch recorded it's best sales week in the UK off the back of some crazy Black Friday sales:

We're just four months away from the console turning five years old, so that's pretty insane. Crazy to think what might happen next year if they were to slash their console RRP's a bit (not that they need to, but clearly the massive savings to be had were a big reason for it's great sales last week).

It's out of stock on Amazon atm, you need to get one from a third party supplier. Crazy to think that nearly five years later the RRP has gone down £20 in the UK and has stayed at full price in the US!

yeah pretty amazing, and that price cut was due to exchange rates in europe.

I wish I could find a Switch Oled on sale though, my Switch's fan stopped working a few weeks back. I can still play games on it, but after an hour a message comes up with a warning me that the system is too hot and then it shuts itself down.

Here you go. If by on sale, you mean in stock.

You can now cancel pre-orders on eShop. Or at least if you live in the EU. :p

But there is a page on Nintendo.co.uk that explain the steps so I guess you lot also can.

You could before, but only until 7 days before release. This now means you can cancel right up to before the launch day.

Masayuki-Uemura.jpg

Masayuki Uemura, lead architect of the NES and SNES, has passed away at 78. Imagine the lives of a lot of people who have had some experience with video games would be very different without him, may he rest in peace.

It has been announced that Masayuki Uemura, the creator of the Family Computer, has passed away. I pray for your soul... NES is the game console that I was most influenced by. Without this, it wouldn't be there.

There is a Nintendo Life article on his passing and contributions here

Also announced is a Chocobo GP Lite that allows you to play the single player prologue free of charge and also connect to a local network to play against friends that have the full version of the game. Upgrading to the full version will transfer progress.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised it's even that high. Can definitely see the Animal Crossing (~50 hours of play) and Xenoblade (~70 hours of play) bumps, though!

Guess my unofficial aim for 2021 is to get over that hump and play more Nintendo games :p

So it seems I had a hefty year on the Switch, though it's surprising that 2020 had so many more hours, considering there were so fewer SSBU tourneys to go to. It was probably Three Houses.

I wager that Oct.9th was on the weekend of Metroid Dread's launch.

OK, OK, you've all had your fun. Now stand aside, and lemme show how a real nutjob does things.

EDIT: They suggested Just Dance to me last year as well! Stop trying to make it happen, Ninty!

You can find last year's stats in this thread.

You’re damn right that Dicey Dungeons sits atop my list! :D

@Glen-i That list is utterly appalling! I can’t believe that MUA3 is your No1!!

And how do you not suggest Shin Megami Tensei V!?

Yeah, that is weird... they certainly suggested SMT V to me! It's a great suggestion too, considering what I've been playing.

They also recommended Castlevania Advanced Collection (another excellent suggestion, and I may pick it up on a sale), Warioware: Get It Together (trying to bolster my multiplayer options, eh?)... and the N64 service for NSO (nice try, Nintendo. I give it a D for effort).

Here is mine:

And my handheld percentage was 87%. Curious to see that I put so many hours in Immortals, but it is a good game so actually not that surprising. Dark Souls at 30 hours and still not finished!
