Pantsu Man! Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 If I didn't have any consoles at all, Sony would have blown my mind. Then I would have thought a long time considering a 360. But I have them all so I'm happy. I am really considering a PSP Go. It just looks too tiny, plus if I were to buy any previous UMD games how do I play them? But it looks sexy.
Shino Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Nop, Wii + DS + PC is where its at. I have been tempted by the PS3 before E3 and there wasn't much there to push me over. Did they announce a price drop?

I think you know they didn't and you're trying to undermine the conference. You say the conference was bad but it was well presented and for me (Okay maybe not so much for you) the games were good.
Domstercool Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Already own all the consoles, so no! But if I didn't I'd certainly want a PS3 great show
Cube Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) I want a Wii next year for Metroid. I already own a 360 and I don't know what Sony have announced (other some mentioning of a camera and "Pixie Stick"). Edit: I watched half of the motion sensor part. I got bored and couldn't watch any more. Edit: Other than Heavy Rain, I don't see anything I care about on the PS3. Plus the controller hurts my hands, which is a big problem for me. The Lillster Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I already own a PSP 1000, DS Lite, Wii and PS3. I don't think I need anymore LOL.
Haver Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) I don't own any of the consoles, I play PC, but I have to say that the Playstation conference was really exciting. I don't think there's ever been a better tech demo of the motion-sensing stuff, on Wii or 360 or PS before, than the sword and shield demo. I could actually get behind that. God of War, Last Guardian and the ModRacing (or whatever it was called) game looked fantastic. The track builder was pretty woah. AND UNCHARTED. Xbox conference was pretty good, but lots of sequels. The Forza livery stuff looks fantastic again. TV/DVD stuff is ace. I'll be getting COD42 on PC. Nintendo don't make games for me anymore, sadly. When Reggie said 'every defiency in your swing, every mistake, will be replicated in game' I thought, that's exactly the point. If I want that, I'll go play real tennis. The point of video games always was that you became Nadal. And the PS curator was the least annoying. Edited June 3, 2009 by Haver

You say the conference was bad but it was well presented and for me (Okay maybe not so much for you) the games were good. You think wrong then, I was going to say "I expected a price drop" but wasn't sure if they had announced it. And the conference was so damn loooooonng, I think it showed many interesting games but they could have shortened them a bit. And lets be honest, nobody cares for the PSP.
Goron_3 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 After Sony's conference I'm definately getting a PS3. That racing game looked absolutely sublime!
McMad Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Naturally I want all the consoles but unfortunately I am a poor teenager. Might save up for a PS3 around Christmas. A price drop would seal the deal. I also need to get my 360 fixed after the exams but I really don't want to go through the bullshit of sending it off again.
Gizmo Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Like alot of people I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get a PS3 soon. Was thinking about getting one about a month ago, but decided to wait for E3. May wait a little longer in the hopes of a PS3 slim - if I buy a regular PS3 and then a Slim is announced a month later, I'll be really annoyed.
nekunando Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 The Pile™ suggests that I have more than enough to keep me going on Wii and DS (as well as PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, GC, N64, SNES and GBA) ..so I won't be investing in anything else
Sheikah Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Sold my PSP a few years ago and I've been waiting for the download only one for ages. I'll definitely be picking up a PSP Go at launch with a few of the big games. I think it's going to be a great relaunch for the system. Everything else I already have' date=' so won't be buying other hardware - a lot of games on my to buy list mind.[/quote'] I don't really get this...you sold your PSP and wouldn't buy it again until there was an option of not having to switch discs? That reminds me of people who say that not having to change discs in each game on PS3 is a reason to choose PS3 over 360. XD Seriously...you take the UMD out, put another in. The PSP go is not a revolution by removing this process! It's really odd how a lot of people seem to be swayed by the console while completely ignoring the games that they were never even interested in before!
Haver Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Just watched the PS conference again. Funny, very little bullshit, fantastic games, a good sense of identity. When the hell did they become the good guys?
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 The Pileâ„¢ suggests that I have more than enough to keep me going on Wii and DS (as well as PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, GC, N64, SNES and GBA) ..so I won't be investing in anything else I struggle to find time and money to dedicate to just one home console. I have the DS (phat is where it's at) as well, and it's pretty difficult raising funds for both of these. Saying that, I've got a healthy collection for both, so I'm pleased. Really can't comprehend how people have time or money to own all three plus both handhelds, and/or PC.
spirited away Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I have all 3 home consoles, so I'm set there and looking forward to this year and the next. The PS conference has convinced me to get a PSP though.
Coolness Bears Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 The Sony conference really made me want to get a Psp Go for some reason and a Playstation 3. There were loads of games that interested me in the conference, which I felt was the best. But alas I have not a penny to my name so the likely hood of me getting another console is very very slim. I'm happy with My 360, Wii and DS Lite though so I'm not complaining, excellent games that I also would like were announced for all 3! Maybe I could save up for a Psp Go. Though it wasn't ony the issue of money that was a struggle to get around. :p (the other was my mum!)
Retro_Link Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 It's quite likely I'll get a PS3 now, probably around Christmas, and in the hope that some sort of price drop, or at least some awesome bundles/deals will be available around that time. I've been considering getting either a 360 or PS3 for a while now... - 360 for some of the exclusive games, the free online, the controller. - PS3 for some exclusive games, and blueray... being put off by the controller, and paying for online. Still can't say I've made my mind up, but after the conferences, Sony have definately edged their way forward.
Mundi Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Retro, it´s the Xbox 360 where you pay for the online.
spirited away Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 . Think you've muddled that a bit.
Shino Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Just watched the PS conference again. Funny, very little bullshit, fantastic games, a good sense of identity. When the hell did they become the good guys? About the same time they became the underdog. Can someone explain to me what did they show for the PSP Go that's so radically different from what they had before?
dwarf Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I don't really get this...you sold your PSP and wouldn't buy it again until there was an option of not having to switch discs? That reminds me of people who say that not having to change discs in each game on PS3 is a reason to choose PS3 over 360. XD Seriously...you take the UMD out, put another in. The PSP go is not a revolution by removing this process! It's really odd how a lot of people seem to be swayed by the console while completely ignoring the games that they were never even interested in before! It's not a revolution, and neither is it lazy to have games on the HDD. If you had to carry around removable media in order to use apps on the iPhone, it wouldn't have taken off. The PSP Go is the first sony console to embrace this fact. I don't know of anybody that says that's a reason to choose PS3 over Xbox either, partly because you can do that on Xbox.
Haver Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Maybe success is a poison! Now it's Nintendo churning out sequels, with PR-bullshit filled presentations, chasing the money.
lostmario Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I was really impressed with Microsofts conference. I think I will be getting an Xbox360 in the next 6 months.
Dyson Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Microsofts conf edged it for me. Natal blew my mind and if done right could be insane. Nice to see some actual innovation there instead of dual-wielding Wiimotes on the PS3, though I'm sure they'll do motion sensing better than Nintendo already do. Not really interested in any of the exclusives the PS3 has to offer except the MGS series, but I'm confident we'll see more of those coming to the 360 anyway. I'm happy with my Wii60 right now, I think that's the way forward for me. The game reel they showed was enough to reassure me that my 360 will continue to be my most frequently used console. Oh, and the fact that I hate the dual shock controller (Horrible placing of analogue sticks, and the convex style...bleh) plays a part in all this.
