Metroid Prime: Hunters, however.. stay clear of that game... it is very bad compared to the rest of the games. Every Metroid game that I have played (apart from Hunters ) is basically a classic :yay:

To be fair, while i agree Hunters single player experience is poor, its controls are great but its real strength is in its multiplayer options. Local and online multiplayer options are great- and if i'm honest the reason i've kept such a weak game.

hope that the case in europe is about the same length as a standard dvd case or else the game wouldnt fit in my dvd/game rack.

I'm pretty sure we're getting the same box.

I was dead cert on the getting this, went to trade Corruption today but when I was offered £4 I thought no point.... I then thought, do I REALLY need trilogy? I've got all three games anyway! And although wiimote will add a lot I'm sure, I aint that fussed about playing them all again. I'll pick it up for the inevitable tenner in a years time!

Definitely going to get this, I, uh, haven't played Prime 1 or 2. :(

...Does that make me a bad person?

That depends on what possible reason you could have for not doing so given the Wii is backward compatible with all GC games...

I really never got around to doing so. I completely skipped the last generation, and I still don't own a classic controller or game cube controller. After playing Metroid Prime 3 I was meaning to get around to it, but again, I just didn't.

I'll check reviews but for the right price I'm very tempted by this. Didn't manage to finish the second and I certainly wouldn't mind revisiting the first, as well as obviously checking out the third.

You can't play GCN games with a classic controller BTW.

I don't think anyone will have anything bad to say about the game (except for perhaps Eurogamer and Edge).

NGamer gave it 91%. The only reason it was so low is because most people interested in it will probably already own all three.

Just got an e-mail from Nintendo. Apparently if your one of the first 5000 people to register the game on the Club Nintendo website, you'll get the original Metroid (NES) for free from the Virtual Console! There's some small print that says you have to have registered either MP1, 2 or 3 as well as Trilogy in order to get the free download though, so I'm not sure that means you can't get it if you didn't register the original releases.

Yeah, I feel left out, What about the people who already own the trilogy, seperately, huh? HUH?!

Oh well, I don't know what I'm complaining about, I've got the game twice.. On Metroid Prime 1 and on Metroid Zero mission if I'm not mistaking.

Press release confirms you need to have either the of the Gamecube games or Corruption in order to qualify for the free download.

13 August 2009 – Fans eagerly awaiting the release of the ultimate first-person adventure box set, Metroid Prime Trilogy on 4 September, now have something else to be excited about, with the launch of a special European Club Nintendo promotion!

Not only will fans be able to experience three landmark Metroid Prime games using the precision of the Wii Remote’s pointing system; the European Club Nintendo is also offering a free Wii Download Ticket to special fans, who conform to certain requirements, entitling them to a free download of the original Metroid (NES) on Virtual Console!

To qualify for the promotion, players must be one of the first lucky 5000 who register their copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy on the European Club Nintendo website and who have previously registered one of the Metroid Prime games (Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, or Metroid Prime 3: Corruption)

Originally launched in Europe in January 1988, the original Metroid (NES) set a new landmark for action adventures – and was one of the first video games to feature a woman as the lead character. This is your chance to own and re-play a piece of gaming history for free!

Metroid Prime Trilogy, launching across Europe exclusively on Wii on 4 September 2009, features all three Metroid Prime games, accessible from only one disc. As well as the addition of utilising the Wii Remote’s pointing system for pure precision, the first two instalments, both strong sellers on the Nintendo GameCube, have been updated with wide-screen presentation and new in-game rewards. As an extra special treat for Metroid fans Metroid Prime Trilogy also comes with an exclusive art booklet summarising the history of the trilogy, adding to the collectable appeal of the three Metroid Prime games all packed onto a single disc.

In the meantime, be sure to keep an eye on http://www.metroidprimetrilogy.co.uk and get ready for a big slice of Metroid action this Autumn when Metroid Prime Trilogy launches for Wii across Europe on 4 September.

For more information on Product Registration and Club Nintendo, visit the Club Nintendo section of this website. If you are already a Club Nintendo member, please make sure your email address in your Club Nintendo profile is up to date so you can receive your Wii Download Ticket and details of how to redeem it for Metroid (NES) on Virtual Console if you are among the first 5000 registrants of Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is out 4 September, only for Wii.

is that actually what ngamer said?

Id like to think sometimes when these games are reviewed they are reviewing it as in the value for our money?... this is 3 games in one.. If a perosn has owned the game before then they dont NEED to look at a review now do they... ugh..

i swear some reviewers would complain about anything.

anyway edge gave the first 2 metroid games very high i think... prime 1 def got 10... so i suppose logically the average of the 3 should be the final review score.

They did update the controls though...

I don't think this sort of game should be reviewed in the traditional sense. It shouldn't be given a score, it should just be talked about, the pros and cons of the purchase should be looked at, they could maybe even talk about certain situations you might want to buy it in and ones you might not, but a score just seems inappropriate for a re-released game to me.

I preordered this the other day, even though I own all 3 already, I'm a sucker for boxsets and it's not often you get boxsets with games, especially Nintendo games
