The fish Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Absolution by Muse was the first real album that I got in to. Love it! I also like Early Days and Latter Days (both Led Zeppelin), Dance of Death by Iron Maiden, Silent Alarm by Bloc Party, Mercury by Long-view, and How To Save A Life by The Fray. Ok, that's more than one favorite album, but what the hell. At least I put the art as a spoiler... I suggest adding a 56K warning into the thread name.
DCK Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 U2 - Achtung Baby The greatest band alive's 90s rebirth came with this spectacular album. Nirvana - Nevermind For the obvious reasons. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Truly unique approach lead to a breathtaking album. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium The Peppers have only improved since BSSM, resulting in this perfect double album. Pearl Jam - Ten In some ways I prefer Pearl Jam's grunge approach to Nirvana's. Their overall work deserves credit, most notably their self-titled album, Vs., but most of all thisr debut.
The fish Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium The Peppers have only improved since BSSM, resulting in this perfect double album. QFT. I forgot about that. Snow (Hey Oh) is one of my favorite songs ever!
Letty Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Definetly Vulgar by Dir en Grey. It has all their best songs on it
Goron_3 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Thriller by Michael Jackson. The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem. Meteora by Linkin Park. Greatest Hits by The Offspring (just because it made me like them).

The Bard Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I could swear we did this about 3 months ago... Holy Crap...theres far too many amazing albums for me to pick my favourite... but it's between these: Killswitch Engage: Alive or Just Breathing Children of Bodom: Hatebreeder Metallica: And Justice for all: Megadeth: Rust In Peace In Flames: Colony Lamb of God: As The Palaces Burn Slayer: Reign In Blood...maybe... Nile: Amongst The Catacombs of Naphren-Ka Nirvana: Nevermind Give or Take. Fantastic albums nonetheless.
Wesley Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Metal albums have the worst art ever. Tool gets the award for shittiest art work ever.
The Bard Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Metal albums have the worst art ever. Tool gets the award for shittiest art work ever. Well, it depends, most metal albums do have shit art, yeah, but that's mostly because record companies expect them to keep this stupid "metal" image. Alive or Just Breathing has great art in my opinion, as does ...And Justice For All. Your criticism it totally irrelevant, and I don't get metal albums to gawp at the artwork, I get them for the music. Also: Tool aren't a metal band.
Portlett Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium The Peppers have only improved since BSSM, resulting in this perfect double album. Pearl Jam - Ten In some ways I prefer Pearl Jam's grunge approach to Nirvana's. Their overall work deserves credit, most notably their self-titled album, Vs., but most of all thisr debut. I would disagree with the Peppers improving since BSSM, I love all their stuff but you should really listen to their earlier albums too, theres some amazing songs there, much more funky and dirty punk. Pearl Jams Ten is definately one of my faves too, I think I prefer Vs though slightly due to the fact that it dones't feel as overly produced as Ten does, vitalogy is amazing too.
