Caris Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I've played half an hour and all i can say is meh.
Guest Jordan Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Did you like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time?
Choze Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Seems like this game didnt quite live up to expectations. Considering cancelling pre order. But maybe i will like it?
Charlie Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Seems like this game didnt quite live up to expectations. Considering cancelling pre order. But maybe i will like it? I can't decide between this and Mario, can't afford both. The GameTrailers review put me off this even though they gave it a high mark. I may wait to get some other impressions from the forumites...
Nintenchris Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Mario hands down Hmm im quite liking this... yeah i liked the Prince of Persia games and yeah i like this but im not sure if i can play this all the way to the end simply because the game is just about assassination after assassination... there are a few other distractions but nothing major.
Caris Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Did you like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time? Nope, i'm liking this abit but but its really linear. Theres a massive story spoiler right at the start which is terrible as well.
Ashley Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Played it a tad today on my lunch. I seem to be the only person whose not super hyped for this game. Was alright, would be better if it wasn't the intro part. All the jumping around reminded me of Mario (but I'd imagine its more like POP btu I haven't played that) To be fair, the only bit that interests me is Kristen Bell is in it.
The fish Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Well, I've played it for about 2 hours, and I can tell you all that IGN were talking out of their arses... Once you get to Damascus (about 45 mins to 1 hour in), it really takes off - I went for a massive free-running session to all the mineretes in the area, and went in the (still standing, still used) covered market, and spent a good portion of the time muttering "wow". A friend of mine is seven hours in (yes, he has no life), and says it still hasn't started to get old.
Gizmo Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 How did you guys get it already? I have to wait like 3 weeks till post exams
Solo Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 IGN also given it 7.7 but the AU part have it 8.7 Hmm The IGN UK reviewer gave it 6.5.. ouch! http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/835/835192p2.html

Yeah but it's the second half of the game that people say gets repetitive, when you've already done the same missions plenty of times already and they're all you continue to do!
The-chosen-one Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 man this game keeps getting better and better im still loving it just how the people react when you push them aside story is just awesome its a must have game thats what i can tell i think the people from IGN where just drunk when they reviewed it

Chuck Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 It was the best game story secret ever made. Its so f***ing BAD
The fish Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 It was the best game story secret ever made. Its so f***ing BAD The way the story is portrayed? Amen to that! The game? No way, matey!
Oxigen_Waste Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 man this game keeps getting better and better im still loving it just how the people react when you push them aside story is just awesome its a must have game thats what i can tell i think the people from IGN where just drunk when they reviewed it Oh shut it, you don't know shit. Every single reviewer across the planet says it's repetitive, then I'm guessing it is. You just have a monotonous life.
Guest Jordan Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 This game is complete marmite. Some people are loving it, others are hating it and theres no medium at all.
gaggle64 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Do you think somewhere there's a Marmite dedicated forum such as this, where people log in to exchange cusses and insults about each other's mothers as reviews for the latest Marmite batch roll in?
Guest Jordan Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Its plausable... hell theres dog puking porn out there. The internet has a place for everything
Domstercool Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Wonder if I can get £20 million somewhere on the Internet. O_o
Guest Jordan Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 For your arse Dom? Hell, i'm sure any sick, perverted homosexual man would love to pay you.
Guest Stefkov Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 First impressions were what the hell is going on. Why is all that happening, put in a room with wierd stuff happening. It was all crazy. Now that I've played on, I love the game. The reviewers who give this a low mark purely because of its repetitivness don't deserve to review games. I've been climbing walls, assassinating Templars, saving citizens. Pickpocketing aswell, which actually I should have gone to the Bureau first. I got something then it said return to the Bureau so I missed out on something then. The horse riding is just amazing. I liked the look of Horse riding in SOTC but this, I love it. Much better, imho, than Twilight princess' horse riding. Graphics area a bit iffy at times. Near the start when you are told to go to Damascus when your master is holding the bird...looked real bad. Ah well, this is like an Oblivion game that I like, with Templars and Knights and Assassins. When you do the Synching on a tower, it just looks amazing.

You have played what, 3 hours max. Of course the game doesn't seem repetitive. From what I see, I want this game. Because jumping on buildings is fun and right, but the game as a whole doesn't seem the sum of its parts. I'll get it Christmas. If you still say this after beating the game, then fair enough. But to debase all reviewers at this point is dumb. They have beaten the game, they may be wrong but they have had more to judge on than you right now. Apparently I'm leader of the Reviewers Defense Force now/ I rarely disagree with good reviewers on games, either I am an opinionless drone or they make good review. All this Bioshock hating of late by 1Up etc is bullshit though.
Guest Stefkov Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I've played more now, and yes the counter attacking is repetive. But seriously, how many different ways are you meant to kill someone with a sword. I play games to play, not to look at them in tiny detail, beating the game as fast as I can to write a review before a deadline. The reviewers probably spent a day or two playing the game to the end, of course it'll seem repetitive if you play it none stop. If you span it out instead of devoting your whole time then no, it doesn't feel repitive at all. Ickle tripe, I've gotten to Acre and the people I saved have said the same thing as the people in Damascus said. Great they got however many people to pose as models, but its the voice overs/speech that mean more imo.
