The bookend to the Wii U.

Gametrailers have mentioned this on both episodes of their new weekly podcast [Thanks For Playing] now... that they think basically the only reason we're getting Hyrule Warriors, or basically a Zelda themed another franchise, is because Zelda for Wii U itself is a LONG way off release, and they need something to fill the gap for the series. So what do we think? Christmas 2015 for the next Zelda?

Also if you never played it on the Dreamcast then this is a MUST!

One of my favorite memories of the Nintendo DS was getting Mario 64 DS and just how much I enjoyed the touch-screen bonus mini games that came with it! I could spend ages on them just trying to beat my score. Same with the Wario Ware DS demo!
-
Nintendo are fantastic at the bite-size experience, as they've shown with the likes of Mario Party, Wii U Party and the Wario Ware series. I genuinely do not know why they either put some of those mini-games up on the e-shop (maybe grouped together in 'packs') for impulse buys at very cheap prices. They are the perfect thing for families to have fun playing on a night. Maybe they could do some Nintendo themed board games too. Or get together with the Zen Pinball guys and do some Nintendo pinball tables.

I'm actually quite excited for this game atm. The developers behind this new studio give me a lot of confidence... I always enjoyed the hub/adventuring parts of Sonic Adventure... and I like the idea of the Sonic characters being used for more of an exploration/collectathon style game within Mario64/Banjo Kazooie style worlds, as a side series.

I do agree though that Superman could have used more solo development, however much Batman could potentially be a part of Superman's growth on earth. Alternatively, had it just been Batman in this film then fair enough, maybe that could have worked. Although tbf we do not know which of the other characters being cast will actually appear in this movie, and if they do, how much of a role they will have, but it does seem like a bit of a strange decision. Yes they don't need to do what Marvel are doing, but what tha also don't need are the audience going 'Who the hell is this guy?' [be in Green Lantern/Flash/Aquaman...] and being left a bit confused, unsure of how they felt about the film as a result and whether they'll want to go and see anymore. Something that does bother me is that they cast Ben Affleck to play an older, more battle weary Batman... which is EXACTLY what Bale's Batman had become by the end of the Dark Knight Trilogy. They really should have done whatever it took utilise the success of those films to help grow the rest of their movie universe.

Doesn't seem to have a PAL release date from what I can see. I think it's only a single player game as well isn't it?

I wouldn't buy a 2D Sonic, but I might buy a 3D Sonic, so it wouldn't sell to me. I think it's a very good point that maybe we just aren't the market anymore. Do SEGA want to produce a 2D Sonic for the older gamer with nostalgia still kicking around within, or do they want to go after the younger gamers? I very much doubt 2D Sonic is a game many teenagers would be all that interested in... Didn't Sonic Dash on mobiles sell really well? Maybe Sega could do what Nintendo are doing and running both a 2D and a 3D series of Sonic, but then they have been with the remakes on Virtual Console, and include large 2D sections within their 3D games of late probably to try and appease both fans, when if it was up to them they would probably prefer to go the 3D route. For whatever reason they just struggle to get it right/realise what worked well. With Sonic Team still developing Sonic 'as we know it', I think it's exciting to see what a new western studio can do with it. Let's give it a chance.

#04 - N-Europe: Let's Talk Games (Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire)
Retro_Link replied to Fused King's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Moved this thread back to Nintendo Gaming for now. I don't know if the fewer post for this game are a result of less people having played it or because less people go into General Gaming (although that doesn't really appear to be the case, as there are quite a few often used threads in there). It's a good thread series, so it's a shame if anyone's overlooking it. -
It kinda seems to have missed both markets in doing so then... it didn't get any people to buy the console who are looking for the next big 3D Mario, and it didn't sell anything like a 2D Mario game. Maybe leave 2D and these 2D/3D Mario titles to the handhelds where they sell best and 3D for the home console?

Apparently Ms. Marvel is the last piece of the puzzle...
-
LOL, she's assuming the position too :p Maybe this is Mario's Peach decoy having the real one back waiting at the Castle for that victory celebration.

I think they've just said he'll have a presence in that movie, in that yeah it will largely be his intro/origin story, but he won't be the focus bad guy. Just the guy again pulling the strings.
-
Such an iconic intro! (along with Melee's which was perfection) That hand countdown at the beginning!

Oh that actor is actually the voice of Jarvis!! I didn't realise. Very interesting So will Vision be the 'anti-Ultron'?... created by Stark from Jarvis to combat the rogue Ultron? It feels like a lot to all happen in one film, and makes me think there must be very little build up to Ultron in this movie, and maybe we'll actually see hints of it possible in the post Winter Soldier scene (with Guardians being set on the other side of the universe it seems more likely that post credits scene will be more Thanos related than something happening on Earth). Just read that in the comics Vision and Scarlett Witch hook up.

I actually kind of like this approach. It's true what @Shorty says, this is somewhat of a reinvention of the series for the kids of today... and the approach they've taken of seemingly turning them into a TMHT-esque coloured gang of four, each with their own set of skills and assets, to me it works. My biggest objection to the Knuckles design is less that they've bulked him up, because actually I kinda like the design and I think it fits in well with the rest of the group... but actually more to do with the attributes that go with such a character i.e. slow, heavy, almost cumbersome at times, but powerful. I love Knuckles for his gliding and almost martial arts style, but I fear here he will be more about heavy lifting and hitting

#04 - N-Europe: Let's Talk Games (Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire)
Retro_Link replied to Fused King's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Only Pokemon games I've experienced are Red and Blue :p However I do feel I can somewhat offer an opinion on the game, in terms of why I didn't feel compelled to pick the game up. For me after Red and Blue a number of the gameplay and design choices they made with Pokemon just didn't really appeal to me. Whilst the designs of the 100 new Pokemon in Gold and Silver were ok'ish, I didn't really feel the game needed the addition of Pokemon breeding and gender specific pokemon etc.. and in order to get some of the Pokemon. It just didn't feel like something I wanted to be doing in the game. I kind of wanted to play as the same character from Red and Blue as well. Move forward to Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and this time especially the designs I was seeing of the new Pokemon really didn't appeal to me, the ones on the cover were enough to make me see they were headed in the wrong direction. Again new features like double battle on top of ones already introduced in gold and silver just further lessoned the appeal. It's sounding like I just wanted Pokemon to stay the same, which obviously a series should never do... however maybe the only way I can describe it was that Pokemon Red was just the perfect gameplay experience for me, the pokemon were incredible, and the TV series accompanied it in the perfect way at the time. It was exactly what I wanted and I loved that game. Maybe that was all I needed from this series, because I've never really been compelled to return to it (although I did think Black and White looked pretty good). Why is this out of interest? (just trying to understand peoples movements on here) because you come in this board all the time for the Sales thread, as do numerous other members? People just don't bother looking at the rest of the board as well or? -
Here's the Nintendo UK trailer It's a bit concerning when Sonic and Knuckles tails shows between their legs at 0:25 and 0:47
-
Well the trailer did interest me more than Lost Worlds ever did.
-
Poor Sonic and Tails can't afford new shoes, they've had to tape them up.
