rokhed00 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Amazon are doing the right thing though, when they open up their preorders they will know how many they are getting and will stop preorders once there allocation is full. Therefore if you preorder from Amazon.co.uk and your preorder is successful and goes through, it should mean your definately getting one. I think..... I wouldn't bet on it. I ordered a book from Amazon and they kept fobbing me off with delays for 3 months before they finally told me they couldn't get it.
Platty Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I have not received a letter from game even thou I was third to pre order the Wii, I will check with Platty later to see if he got a letter about it as he was fourth on the pre order list, If I don't get a letter by the start of next week I will go to game and see if I will be getting a Wii, also still gotta find out if they are opening at mid night, Also HMV are still selling games at £32.99. I havent received anything yet. I'll get kerry on the case. We better be getting ours on launch day. We didnt give our address' tho so maybe thats why.
Eenuh Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Game Mania in Genk (Belgium) is guessing they're getting about thirty Wii's at launch, wich is the number they heard 'floating around' - wich will cover my pre-order. Yes! Oooh, you live really close apparently (Hasselt here). Cool. =P Thirty sounds like a big number, sorta. I hope it's the same in every shop around here (or more consoles even, the more the better).
martinist Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Still no letter from GAME today, maybe tomorrow. Or maybe my GAME is just too small to send out letters or that they allready have enough Wii's to fill the pre-orders. I didn't give them my address when i pre-ordered but they already must have it. I don't think my GAME are taking pre-orders any more so thats quite a relaxing thought
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I got an email from Play today saying I wouldn't get a Wii on launch. Wankers. Any recommendations on where to go now?
solitanze Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 http://www.ebay.com for the cheap price of $2,000US.
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Bargain. Have Amazon started taking preorders? I just had a look and it doesn't appear they are.
Nintenchris Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Bargain. Have Amazon started taking preorders? I just had a look and it doesn't appear they are. Nope Amazon.co.uk havent started pre-orders at all... they should be up soon tho. I was gonna say look on Ebay but i have just looked at the prices... and i think you better avoid Ebay!
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Ordered the Wii with Twilight Princess from Game now. Shabba.
Owen Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Ordered the Wii with Twilight Princess from Game now. Shabba. If that fails, try Argos or Toys 'r' us! Or go to your local PC world, Comet, Currys etc.. etc.. on the day.
ZeldaFreak Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 apparently there will be another batch of about 1.5million wiis on the 22nd december heard that on the grapevine, so if you carn't get one on launch don't worry. now nintendo wheres the release schedule for games after the 8th december
blender Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 hmv.co.uk have confirmed to me that i'm in for launch. Ordered 18/09/2006 (i asked them directly)
Librarian Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 hmmm.. im getting i bit nervous.. i will try and preorder it where i usually buy my stuff.. if im not getting a Wii on launch day you will be able to hear all about it on CNN

Apple_NdiB Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I can't believe how many places I had to go into before I got a guranteed launch day pre-order. The consensus seemed to be that the pre-orders are exceeding the expected intial shipments, though they couldn't be certain of exactly how many they'd be getting in. I eventually managed to reserve one a little way out of the city centre at a Currys Digital, so if you can't find one in the specialist shops I think you'll generally have more luck in the Electrical shops. It was never like this with the Cube was it?
stephenallred Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I preordered my Wii from Play.com on the day they started preorders at about 10 in the morning and I've just recieved an email telling me I'm not getting one at launch. Muchos pissed. Gunna try and get one off Amazon when they start their preorders.
conzer16 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I was on the phone to GAME Dawson St. (Dublin), and was told they have taken over 200 Wii pre-orders, that they are getting the biggest allocation of consoles in the country and that they were confident they would fulfil all of their pre-orders even though Nintendo haven't yet told them what their allocation will be. They are also opening for a midnight launch.
flameboy Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 This is soooo strange, all this news of people not getting them, remember when release dates were announced there would be plenty, whilst I expected demand to be high, I really didn't expect them to not be able to fulfill preorders just expect stores to get thier preorders out and then sell out thru sales. Good news I guess just not for tbhose that want it on launch day.
Nards Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 hmmm.. im getting i bit nervous.. i will try and preorder it where i usually buy my stuff.. if im not getting a Wii on launch day you will be able to hear all about it on CNN ROFL!!! Yeh, I'm going to crazy if I dont get one launch day Me+couple buddies going so early to make sure we get one Less than 2 weeks now (canada)
demonmike04 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Shortages? How the... 4 million units for launch - 1 mil for US - ? mil for Japan - ? mil for Europe - ? mil for Australia (Or does this count as the european units?) Either way, the minimum europe should have is one million, or japan has fricken tons or they've bumped up the US supply. Didnt Wii go into production early 2006? Fuck man..
ShadowV7 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I wonder if play.com sent that e-mail so people would cancel their pre-orders to put them off buying so they're wont be as much pressure on them.I got that e-mail aswell.I'm just gonna cancel it since I have my GAME pre-order.
Alan77 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 The thing everyone needs to remember is that people have prob pre-ordered more than 1 wii each. How many of the 7000 that play have allocated out won't actually be sold because people will go elsewhere? You might find you do get one because a load of people cancelled theirs. I've pre-ordered in PCWorld and Game so I'll obviously cancel one (prob Game) and some lucky punter will stroll into Game on launch and pick one up without pre-ordering probably!!
Hero-of-Time Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 The best bet to those still wanting to preorder is to just go around your local area and into shops like Argos, Woolworths, Comet etc as you should have a higher chance of getting a preorder there than all the regular game shops.
