Cube Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I got what will likely be my last Xbox game: Star Trek. You may have seen it get some terrible reviews. However, I loved it. It's not a AAA title, but it's still really good. This is far from a terrible game, as it has pretty solid mechanics, a great story, good dialogue between Kirk and Spock, varied level design and it's not as repetitive as you might think. Co-op is also really good. There are bugs, but it's nowhere near as common as certain sites (like Gametrailers) would leave to to believe (play 12 hours of Skyrim and you'll likely experience more). Of course, that's what the publishers get when these places have to buy their own copy.
Shorty Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Dark Souls is currently £8.99 to download through the marketplace. This is an amazing price and if you haven't played it yet, you're wrong. Just wrong. Get it now.
Cube Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 It will likely be gone by the time I give the first game another try.
Ganepark32 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Is that only for gold members? A stupid question really as given Microsoft's track record, it most likely is. Shame as I've been thinking of giving Dark Souls a go.
Shorty Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yeah, that's the Gold price, Silver is £14.99 in which case you'd be better off finding a physical copy with the DLC when it goes on offer. The DLC is also reduced to 600 points. Funny, my XBL Gold just ran out yesterday, I have 1700 points to use and wasn't planning to renew Gold, now there's this one DLC pack I'd like on offer... :p
Jimbob Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I've been playing my entire backlog of 360 titles, including a few replays as of late. Bioshock Infinite = Done Hitman Absolution = Done AC:III = Progressing Skyrim = Too much left GoW: Judgement = Not Done (2 missions left, then never again because it's bad) Tomb Raider = Next Once i've done Judgement, i'll be returning to the GoW trilogy to replay that. I got enough to keep me going until the next gen, maybe Black Flag and GTA as well to add to list to keep me amused over the holidays.
gaggle64 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Dark Souls is currently £8.99 to download through the marketplace. This is an amazing price and if you haven't played it yet, you're wrong. Just wrong. Get it now. Damn, I'd be on that right now if I hadn't sworn off buying any more games until I clear at least some of my prodigious backlog (which includes an as-yet unplayed Civ V, so it's going to be a while).
MindFreak Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 If you're a Gold member, Fable III can be downloaded for free on Marketplace, Games on Demand.
Shorty Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Can't seem to find it through the site, goes to a minisite instead, guess you have to do it through the console and probably Gold members only... ah well I own it already just like getting things for free!
Cube Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Can't seem to find it through the site, goes to a minisite instead I really don't understand why they did this. The Xbox.com store used to be brilliant, now it's extremely hard to find anything on there.
bryanee Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Just do this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=581137 Go to http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Fable-III/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d5308d6?cid=SLink Click to purchase and when the second window pops up change to MS points and it'll be listed as free. I remember something similar happening with Fable 2.
Cube Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 They turned Fable 2 into some kind of "episodic" game, with the first part free.
bryanee Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 They turned Fable 2 into some kind of "episodic" game, with the first part free. I know that but they put up the full game for free by mistake the year F3 came out.

Kaepora_Gaebora Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Xbox 360 redesign then, looks exactly like the One but with 360 on the front, could lead to plenty of unwanted christmas presents... Or a nice addition to your living room! e3 conference suggested it was out NOW, though can't seem to find any pricing or UK retailers as of yet!
Cube Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 The other difference, this one can be stood upright The previous models damaged your discs if you stood them upright.
Dante Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Microsoft Points Retirement Info How does this change affect me? You will begin using local currency or an Xbox Gift Card (denominated in your local currency) to buy music, games, videos, and more from your favorite Xbox stores. When you use your existing Microsoft Points to initiate a purchase or redeem a Points card with your Microsoft account later this year, we’ll deposit into your account an amount of money equal to or greater than the marketplace value of your Microsoft Points, and your Microsoft Points will be retired. The purchased funds you deposit into your account after the transition will not expire. However, the funds we deposit into your account at the time of the transition will expire one year from the deposit date. Spend all your points/money before Microsoft eased them in a years time.
Andyliini Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Is the new model of 360 even coming to Europe? I can't find it anywhere.
Choze Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Is the new model of 360 even coming to Europe? I can't find it anywhere. Its coming. Bear in mind there is no optical output. http://uk.ign.com/videos/2013/06/18/unboxing-the-xbox-360-super-slim So the normal slim is probably more attractive to those who care about sound.
Shorty Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Spend all your points/money before Microsoft eased them in a years time. It'll be a year from when they transition (Autumn 2013), no point spending anything for the sake of it yet.
Eddage Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Does anyone know if the digital download versions of games support 5.1 sound? Been playing Far Cry 3 and only just released that it's outputting in stereo rather than surround, the game description says it has "in game dolby" but I have no idea what that means?! I want to get Tomb Raider in the sale but if it's only gonna output in stereo rather than surround then I'd rather try and find a cheap disc copy.
gaggle64 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 (edited) I want to get Tomb Raider in the sale but if it's only gonna output in stereo rather than surround then I'd rather try and find a cheap disc copy. Thanks for saying that, didn't realise it was one sale. £15 for a digital copy, not too shabby. Not able to download right now but at least it'll be there when I want it. Edited July 6, 2013 by gaggle64
Shorty Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 It's £15 for the disk copy in more than one place right now, including Tesco.
Rummy Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Probably a stupid question but I'm fairly out of touch these days - how well does the 360 play with extra/external storage?
