arri Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Skyrim! I played it on PC! It was the best. I think i'll play it once again
MindFreak Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Just got a Kinect the other day (I'm soon moving to something bigger and got it for a good price) with Adventures and Fruit Ninja. Which games should I be getting? I'll get Sports season 2 (as I can get that cheap from a friend) so apart from that?
Rummy Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I feel like this is a stupid question, but can anyone tell me how much microsoft points roughly are? I tried a google(can't xbox right now) and couldn't find a definitive answer. I'm wondering how much they'll be via the xbox itself. I had a thought that it was likt £8 for 1000 or so?
Jimbob Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I feel like this is a stupid question, but can anyone tell me how much microsoft points roughly are? I tried a google(can't xbox right now) and couldn't find a definitive answer. I'm wondering how much they'll be via the xbox itself. I had a thought that it was likt £8 for 1000 or so? It's about £17 for 2100 points, £30 gets you 4,200 points (varies per location). You can get points at various locations, on and offline. And don't get them via the Xbox, it's usually more expensive with this option. Turned my Xbox on for the first time in 3 weeks yesterday, played on Absolution for a few hours. An aweful lot of garrotting was committed, can't fault that at all.
Rummy Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 So that's looking about what I thought, £6.50/£7ish for each Halo map pack! That's mental. I'll forego it on principlé methinks.
Shorty Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 It's not the points that are overpriced though its the map packs. You can get some fantastic games for 800 points.

Magnus Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 (edited) So will everyone be able to participate in this sale, or is it just for Gold subscribers? Because I got burned the last time someone posted about a sale in this thread. I'd consider getting El Shaddai if the price is right. Edited February 24, 2013 by Magnus

Magnus Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Welp, if $17 is the best they can do for El Shaddai, I'm not interested. And after I spent nearly an hour going through a forced update, remembering my password, setting up two different ways for Microsoft to get in touch with me and trying to find the online store, too. I do like how they recommend games based on games you've played in the past, though. I especially like how it still recommends games I've already played. Half the recommendations were because I played Deadly Premonition and Nier (I guess playing both of those games means I have very eclectic taste), and apparently I'd enjoy Mirror's Edge because I played Crackdown and Mass Effect because I played the Fable games. Because those are so similar.

You're looking at the wrong number - it's $2.99.
Magnus Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Ohhh. Well, now I feel like an idiot. In my defense, I actually searched for the game before posting and could only find a demo, or I would have seen the correct price. Turns out it's not available in my region. So thanks for nothing, Microsoft. Now I don't feel so bad about not using my 360 since Fez was released.
Shorty Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Microsoft really should work harder to tailor the Xbox to your specific needs. I'm sure not having your business as an Xbox Live Silver member who buys niche On Demand games when on sale for for £3 is going to make them rethink their strategies!
Magnus Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 An Xbox Live Silver member who's an avid fan of PlayStation Plus and plays 50+ games a year! Some of that business could be Microsoft's. In fact, some of that business used to be theirs, but then the exclusives dried up and Sony started giving away games for a nominal fee. Well, I'm still fully intending to play Halo 4 at some point, so there's that, at least.
Ike Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Resident Evil 6 - £8.99 - Worth playing for that price?
MindFreak Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Got Fallout 3 from yesterday's sale. Don't know if I thought that through just wanted it for quite a while and 440 MSPoints is really cheap but come to think of it I might need the DLC which is expensive so I should maybe just have looked for a GOTY-edition which I've found cheap somewhere sometime.
Dcubed Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Why has it taken MS so long to start doing these sorts of sales!? These prices are crazy awesome!
dan-likes-trees Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Long shot: has anyone on here got one of those 48 hours xbox live trials going spare? Like you get with Halo 4 etc. Want to play some coop (of the mighty N+) with a buddy who lives far away but don't want a years subscription as it's a one off. If anyone could PM me one I'd be eternally grateful... worth a shot.
Hero-of-Time Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I may have one lying around you can have, but you will have to wait till I get home from work at 5pm.
nightwolf Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I did actually have a spare Xbox360 - sorry Shorty, if I'd seen your message before, but I traded it with the housemate (I don't have to pay for the internet for a few months). I ended up getting rid because the damn thing was annoying me, its one of the originals and whilst there is nothing wrong with it (I still have the box/plastic bags, instructions etc) the noise of it and size was bugging the hell out of me. So I grabbed a new one with kinect at Game for 199quid. Not bad considering the kinect is 90quid on its own, I'm sure I could have got that bundle cheaper somewhere, but I couldn't find one.
Jimbob Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 @dan\-likes\-trees, I know i got a code for Xbox Live at home, came with Tomb Raider. If @Hero\-of\-Time hasn't got one, i will be able to give you the code.
