Daft Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 It's bloody rank. My sig is on Flickr so it's not a photobucket thing.
Ashley Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) We're working on it. (I just want to eat!) Edited July 26, 2011 by Ashley
Shorty Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Found and removed some more crap, hopefully gone now.
Retro_Link Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Has the name thing gone that shows who's currently in a thread?
The Peeps Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 No it's below the quick reply box. Was it always that low down?
Wesley Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I've seen this in some other websites as well. I'm glad it's gone now. I feel clean.
Shorty Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I'd like to say that it's gone forever but... keep your eyes peeled
Captain Falcon Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I mentioned this in the chat room earlier and they said mention it in here... I often find that the banner doesn't always load. Sometimes it just doesn't load at all and other times it loads half of it and then that's it - except there will be a multicoloured line at the edge of the picture where it stopped loading. Also, sometimes when someone has quoted someone in a post, inside the quotation box, it seems to want to try and load the page again but it nevers loads it all. It ends up I have half a page, and then that same half a page again and I have to refresh. It didn't used to happen. I'm using FireFox version 5 right now btw. Ever encountered any one else experiencing similar issues?
Goafer Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Anyone else have problems with the forums around midnight-2am? It happens every night to me. It just craps out. I can't connect at all, except for a few instances where it manages to make it for a brief period.

I can't connect at all, except for a few instances where it manages to make it for a brief period. It's always been like that for me. It's when they update the servers and stuff, I believe.
Ashley Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 Yeah servers are backed up over night and this causes them to run a bit slowly. We are amongst eshops mostly so they don't expect people to be online at that kind of time.
Cube Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Yeah servers are backed up over night and this causes them to run a bit slowly. We are amongst eshops mostly so they don't expect people to be online at that kind of time. They should delay them until around 3-5AM. The shops I help run get quite a few orders between 11PM-2AM.
Shorty Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 The other sites only go down for a few minutes. N-Europe has an insane number of high quality images and hundred-MB videos that, as far as I know, we don't even need... Also we've recently doubled many of those images, due to certain changes behind the scenes. In other words, we are taking up more space than multiple magento based ecommerce sites with 25,000 products....
Ashley Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 In other words we need a spring clean behind the scene(s).
Ellmeister Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Supposedly once you create a thread, there is a small amount of time after creating it that you can edit the thread title? How would I do this?
Ashley Posted August 25, 2011 Author Posted August 25, 2011 Possibly through the menu at the top right (by display mode, search etc is) if not double clicking just by the side of the thread title in forum view does inline moderation.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I've noticed you get a notification when someone quotes you, I've had a look around my profile/options and I can't seem to find a way to turn it off. What is the secret?
Ashley Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 I don't believe you can turn it off but I didn't write the script. I'll look into it but why did you not post this in the thread covering it?
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 why did you not post this in the thread covering it? I only glanced at the topic and assumed it only related to tagging users in posts like that annoying "@" thing, not the quoting thing.

Also we've recently doubled many of those images, due to certain changes behind the scenes. Is this why the Forum part of the site seems to be unavailable for short times quite a lot recently?
Jimbob Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I've been noticing this occuring as well, can get slightly annoying at times.
Sméagol Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hmm, I don't care about playground posts not counting towards your postcount (or about my postcount at all), however, I was wondering if you could make them count for the embed / thank function requirement? I don’t want to see anyone (even when they are genuine members) spamming again just to unlock those features .
MadDog Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Do posts in this section count towards your post count? It appears they do. Seems strange that posts here count, yet posts in the playground don't.
Charlie Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Do posts in this section count towards your post count? It appears they do. Seems strange that posts here count, yet posts in the playground don't. I think the decision was originally made because we felt that in the Playground there are a lot of threads which only need 1 or 2 word posts (Mafia games? I'm not sure, I don't play them). I think in this board what people say is generally adding to a conversation (albeit about the forums) and that they should count. Or on the other hand we could've just totally forgotten about this board - I can't remember! I remember talking about the post count in Playground when the board was initially made but can't remember details of the discussion!
