Nolan Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Mr. Smith Goes to Washington so good it's on twice? When you say Metropolis, do you mean the animé one? The Third Man is on there twice too. As for Metropolis, there is one other movie by that name (according to wiki) so it could go either way as to which he means.
EEVILMURRAY Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 As for Metropolis, there is one other movie by that name (according to wiki) so it could go either way as to which he means. ... That's why I asked.
chairdriver Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I love how my fondest memories of Miss Hart are intertwined with Metropolis. Stunningly Hitler's favourite movie.
Slaggis Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Black Christmas (Remake) I watched this as part of my "watch horror movies so I don't have to revise" day. Seen it a few times, and it's a all good fun. I hate that they kill off two of the best/funniest characters, and we're left with the cliche blonde chick to survive the movie and save the day. I have to admit though, they way she kills one of the killers is amazing. 5
Oxigen_Waste Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Mr. Smith Goes to Washington so good it's on twice? When you say Metropolis, do you mean the animé one? Mr Smith wouldn't even be there if I re-did the list now. It's become a 9. And what do you think I mean by Metropolis? The anime one is awesome, but not 10.
EEVILMURRAY Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 And what do you think I mean by Metropolis? A film called Metropolis. The anime one is awesome, but not 10. And that is fair enough gringo, I was merely checking. Many of our scores differ. Now come here, embrace the infinite.
Molly Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I once listed all my 10s in one post. If you care to find it, go for it. It's a lovely list I have to say, quite few on there I need to see. It's A wonderful Life I seem to remember you calling me a ''retard'' for giving this a 10, you retard
Oxigen_Waste Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 And that is fair enough gringo, I was merely checking. Many of our scores differ. Now come here, embrace the infinite. Did that sound angry?
EEVILMURRAY Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Did that sound angry? Not at all. I might be angry you gave Memento a 10 though.
Oxigen_Waste Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 What about The Third Man being on there twice? What about it? Not at all. I might be angry you gave Memento a 10 though. Why? How much would you give it?
Konfucius Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 The International I want the two hours back. It's not a bad film so to say but it doesn't go anywhere. The plot is stupidly simplified and it tries to be somewhere between realistic and action movie. There are also so many slow scenes that don't add anything to the film apart from making it last longer. Sometimes it even feels like the actors don't want to be in it. Still the story is gripping enough to keep one entertrained but as I said it's basically a waste of time. 4/10
EEVILMURRAY Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Why? How much would you give it? I'm not sure, because I couldn't bring myself to watch it in its entireity.
Slaggis Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 The Mist Amazing, for a modern horror film. Intelligent, thought provoking and with some great acting in, especially the mental religious woman. Also the ending? Sweet jesus, it's horrific and completely unexpected too. Not just some cliche twist by any means. 8
Katie Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 You sure are getting through those horror movies fast Haggis. I'm not a fan of them myself, other than the Screams I haven't really ever watched them. That bit where the cop comes to the door holding up the scream mask I actually screamed, I was only very young though. I've got Batman (1989) from Lovefilm at the moment but haven't got round to watching it yet.

I haven't watched the film but I had it explained to me by my friend as he couldn't hold in his shock!
Beast Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Haggis, if you want a british horror movie, watch Mum and Dad. It's alright, people call it 'the British Chainsaw Massacre'
Slaggis Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Is that they ending where the guy like shoots his family and/or himself? then like moments later the authorities comes to rescue them? I haven't watched the film but I had it explained to me by my friend as he couldn't hold in his shock! Yes! It's so shocking. The guys reaction it is so sad, completely didn't expect it to happen at all. Haha, I actually did the same thing when I was younger, Katie. Now, I usually just watch the Screams for a laugh more than to get freaked, I love them so much. Thanks Dazz, I'll look for it and maybe give it a try.
Beast Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 BTW, dunno what school it was...or was it a college? I can't remember. I found it, it was filmed in Bishop Vesey School in Sutton Coldfield
Ashley Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Detroit Metal City Was okay. The main character when not in his death metal guise was an annoyingly little knob though, I hate people who constantly moan about their life but do nothing to change it (other than me at times :p). And pranced around as if had a broom half way up his arse. Some humourous moments though. Although one character had the best job; she did a monthly article in which she wrote about what music she enjoys listening to in cafes. Can I do that please...god?
Cube Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Yes! It's so shocking. The guys reaction it is so sad, completely didn't expect it to happen at all. I laughed at how badly he acted in that scene.
jayseven Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Haggis; I love a good horror movie! Recently bought Box of the Banned which has some grisly movies that you ought to check out. It's got The Evil Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters, The Driller Killer, The Last House on the Left, Nightmares in a Damaged Brain, and I Spit on your Grave. I've heard that the versions in this boxset are still suffering BBFC cuts, which is a shame, but these movies show you just how movies were pushing the envelope in teh 70's. I also just bought Zombie Lake, but not watched it yet. It features nazi zombies that are 'aroused into action' in a typical b-movie where soft porn is key. Woot! I watched Mum & Dad the other day. Was alright. Nowhere near as dark as I was told to expect, and not altogether unpredictable.
Paj! Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Heathers I loved. So much. Blacker than coal. I loved Veronica's single Outwit + Stealth click. 9/10
