EEVILMURRAY Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I have a feeling this will have the opposite effect. I concur, the "revolutionary" "shock effect" has gone after you've watched it once. But it was one balls of steel film. I'm surprised he made it out alive.
Goafer Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 But it was one balls of steel film. I'm surprised he made it out alive. Indeed. "He looks like a dirty wizard or a homeless santa". That scene took balls.
or else you will DIE Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Bruno 6.5/10 funny at parts, but a lot of it seemed to be staged... not as funny as borat
nightwolf Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 armageddon I love this film, I love bruce willis in this too, suits the whole 'SHESMYDAUGHTERWTFBOY!' thing which is amusing. Its actually kinda heartbreaking at the end, stubborn bastard. 9/10

Its actually kinda heartbreaking at the end, stubborn bastard. 9/10 I watched it the other day, tooooo! It may be too cheesy for many other people, but I seriously love this film. It's dramatic, it's good entertainment, and it makes you smile and cry. I'm leeeeaving On a jet plaaane!
Paj! Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas I liked it's simplicitiy, but it's a bit twee and just a bit stupid in places. The ending was satisfyingly unsugarcoated. 6.7/10
Ganepark32 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 40 Year Old Virgin So yeah, been meaning to see this for awhile. Finally got round to watching it and I liked it. Enough laughs to keep me entertained. The waxing bit is brilliant and probably the best bit of the film. Steve Carrell can be hit or miss in the films he's in but this was mostly hit. Coming home from the cinema having seen Bruno and watching this, I can say that I probably enjoyed this more than Bruno. 8 out of 10

Ashley Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Wimbeldon As hokey as I expected. Plus Kristen Dunst sounds weird sometimes (and looks like a poor-mans Kristen Bell :p).
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Don't know when I'll be back again. Yeeees! "Have you ever heard of Evel Knievel?" "No, I never saw Star Wars." Aaaaaahhha. If relationships came in threes, you would be the other woman, WolfyMcWolferson.
Ashley Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 We've been over this ReZ. You wanking over pictures of Flink doesn't make him gay.

Happenstance Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 The Onion Movie Now this may not work as well as the usual shorter clips but god dammit I was laughing a lot during this movie. Plus I think its finally made me want to watch a Steven Seagal movie, even if it was a fake one! 8/10
Roostophe Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Predator Finally saw this from the beginning, and FINALLY saw the "GET TO DA CHOPPAAAA!" scene without looking on YouTube. As well as getting a bit of practice in for when I met EEVIL at the meet, the son of a bitch that I am. Always knew it was a good film. 8/10
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 It's actually Dan Dare and Flinks' fault my Arnie "obsession" exists. They brought something up and I bought some films and it snowballed from there. I think we need to have a singalong. And I have the perfect suggestion ¬_¬
Goafer Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) Mad Max 2: Road Warrior Good points: It's Mad Fucking Max The cars/setting is awesome Beleivable post apocalyptic setting, reminds me of Fallout with cars Bad points: Some ropey acting/characters The random feral child In the future, all bad men dress like gimps and talk like wrestlers Still one of my Favourite movies. 9/10 Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome Good points: It's still Mad Fucking Max Aunty Entitiy/Tina Turner Everthing in Bartertown Bad points: Everything after bartertown The fact that Master Blaster seems to go from a dick to a victim for no reason The scene where Master gets dunked into pigs. Least convincing scary scene ever. The first half is better than Mad Max 2, but the second half is worse. Mad Max 2 is consistantly good. 8/10 Skidaddles off to watch Mad Max 1 Edited July 15, 2009 by Goafer
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I'm ashamed to say I've seen none of the Mad Max films. Don't hate me. Pweese.
Goafer Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) You should. Although it's worth bearing in mind that they were made in the early 80s. It shows. The first one is totally different from the other 2. The first is more about a post apocalyptic police force. It all seems to organised and civilised to me. The second 2 are more like waterworld on land. But good obviously. I personally don't like the first one too much, but I haven't seen it for a while so that might change. The first one does set up the character of Max quite nicely though. It's also worth noting that the films can be watched out of order, there isn't many references to previous films. The only thing is the odd flashbacks, which can probably be figured out what happened anyway. Edited July 15, 2009 by Goafer
Happenstance Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Sex Drive Pretty good teen movie, nothing brilliant but made me laugh. 7/10
jayseven Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Australia Predictable. Lack of adamantium. Nice bum. Too long. 13/20 You know how I know you're gay? Haha! I loved this. Meet-up needs this!
Beast Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince I went this morning to watch it and I thought it was fantastic, I absolutely adored it, well worth the wait in my opinion. It was lighter than the others but it also kept that darker tone as well. It was funny in some places too. Some of the non-Potter fans might ask questions which they probably won't know the answer to unless you are actually a fan, lol. Best movie I've seen this year and, in my opinion, best of the Harry Potters. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. 10/10 ^_^
Goafer Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Mad Max Meh. Everything seemed far to normal/civilized to be post apocalyptic. Just seemed like it could be set nowerdays in the countryside somewhere. It's all very 70's as well, although it was made in 1979 so it's only natural. But the other Mad Max's managed to get the future looking right without being too 80's. I completely forgot that this had the whole "saw through ankle instead of chain" bit long before Saw did it. It's also hard to believe Mel Gibson was 23 when he made this movie. No idea how old the character is supposed to be, but he looks late 20s/early 30s. 6.5/10
