I'm nervous and worried. And I'm a straight white dude who works in oil & gas.

Same. I’ve been in and out of oil refineries, coal, and natural gas plants my whole career. I’ve never let that sway how I vote. Nukes are better environments to work in anyways.

If we weren't sure you were American before...

Is this a more uniquely American thing? Which part, ribs or a home smoker?

Eitherway, don’t sleep on smoked meats/ribs. Fall off the bone tender, and delicious

The smoker. Ribs are either oven cooked (BBQ) or deep fried (salt and chilli)

I'd say both (certainly more the smoker) but I'm a veggie so not an authority.

Also I kind of regret waking up now. Was hoping to wake up to better news.

Not just a win, but he won the popular vote too.

I can't believe that one side had literally the worst person to ever exist - literally the worst candidate ever (I don't think this is even hyperbole - he is a convicted felon, a rapist, a child rapist, a racist, can barely talk, can't read, and is circling Death's drain), and still there were millions who were like "nah, I couldn't possibly vote for a woman".

Fuck.

Fuck.

And attempted a coup once already

Misogyny is underselling it though. There’s also far too many that outright agree with the shitshow, or still others (though fewer) that didn’t like the handling of Palestine or Ukraine and decided to throw away their voice on not voting or a 3rd party.

I’ve heard a trans woman whine about that and insinuate not wanting to vote Dem because of the handling of Palestine. Like okay sure, life will definitely get better for you thinking like that.

ugh.

Sounds like Gen Z didn't even come out to vote.

The people he's appointing... 🤦‍♂️

Welp, was nice knowing you USA.

I saw an Instagram comment that said "it's going to be a big year for polio and pedophilia" which sums it up well.

Never mind the fact one of them has an open ethics investigation.

Of small note, teeny tiny note, appointments (for real positions and not Elons shit) do require confirmation by congress.
Its highly unlikely those fucks have the backbone to say no to the impending potus and his obviously wildly poor unqualified choices.

Unless the new leader agrees to putting the house on recess and he doesn't need confirmation if it isn't sitting (apparently a possible plan).
