I’ve been in and out of oil refineries, coal, and natural gas plants my whole career. I’ve never let that sway how I vote. Nukes are better environments to work in anyways.
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 I think I'm gonna put a tenner on Trump if the odds are crazy enough.

Hero-of-Time Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 Not looking good for the US at the moment.

Fall off the bone tender, and delicious I'd say both (certainly more the smoker) but I'm a veggie so not an authority. Also I kind of regret waking up now. Was hoping to wake up to better news.

bob Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Fucks sake America. Can you not go 4 years without embarrassing yourselves.
Nolan Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I had a bad feeling going to bed. Fucking disgusted 1
bob Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Not just a win, but he won the popular vote too. I can't believe that one side had literally the worst person to ever exist - literally the worst candidate ever (I don't think this is even hyperbole - he is a convicted felon, a rapist, a child rapist, a racist, can barely talk, can't read, and is circling Death's drain), and still there were millions who were like "nah, I couldn't possibly vote for a woman". Fuck. 3

Fuck. And attempted a coup once already Misogyny is underselling it though. There’s also far too many that outright agree with the shitshow, or still others (though fewer) that didn’t like the handling of Palestine or Ukraine and decided to throw away their voice on not voting or a 3rd party. I’ve heard a trans woman whine about that and insinuate not wanting to vote Dem because of the handling of Palestine. Like okay sure, life will definitely get better for you thinking like that. ugh. 1

Sounds like Gen Z didn't even come out to vote.
Nolan Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Feels a bit relevant. Thanks for the wisdom Spider.
FalcoLombardi Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 The people he's appointing... 🤦♂️ Welp, was nice knowing you USA.

I saw an Instagram comment that said "it's going to be a big year for polio and pedophilia" which sums it up well. Never mind the fact one of them has an open ethics investigation.
Nolan Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Of small note, teeny tiny note, appointments (for real positions and not Elons shit) do require confirmation by congress. Its highly unlikely those fucks have the backbone to say no to the impending potus and his obviously wildly poor unqualified choices. 1

Unless the new leader agrees to putting the house on recess and he doesn't need confirmation if it isn't sitting (apparently a possible plan). 1
MindFreak Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Sorry for highjacking but I have to show my frustration somewhere. Trump just crashed the entire stock market everywhere. That's insane but furthermore, he showed off a formula for calculating tariffs for individual regions, it reads: Now, this looks complicated but they put Epsilon to 4 and Phi to 1/4, so multiplying them gets rid of them. Seriously, did they just publish a formula with redundant stuff just to make it look more complicated?? A relatively civilised country does this so blatantly?? Jeez! Edited 9 hours ago by MindFreak

The tariff situation is a mess and terrifying in its own way, but this is what genuinely pissed me off. Thanks for sharing

Tangentially related but had horrible flashbacks to when I invigilated an exam and a formula was wrong so the academic sent an email with the new one and I had to copy it onto paper (no printer in the random venue we were in) for each student and was terrified I'd get it wrong. Maths has never been my strong point and that's why I don't set tariff policy. 1
