Aaaand that's Control done.

I enjoyed it overall, but there were some definite frustrations that really hampered my time with it. Mainly what I've already whinged about on here.

It's a great game to play. The more abilities you get the better it becomes.

Story wise, I still have no idea what happened even after the credits rolled. It was very weird and wonderful.

I see there's DLC on sale in the Xbox store which ends today. Don't think I will bother yet though. There's side missions aplenty it seems so they would keep me busy but right now I feel like something else. Call of the Sea or Yooka Laylee me thinks!

Completed Call of the Sea this morning.

Terrific game, and been so long since I've played a game where the fall back hasn't been "let's put some combat in to lengthen this". It's a story a puzzle driven game that's beautifully realised and cleverly put together, with a compelling mystery to keep you interested. Chuck in replayabilty as well (won't say too much but amongst other things I'm tempted to go achievement hunting I've enjoyed it so much) and anyone with game pass I'd really recommend downloading it and having a go ☺️

As well as working through SoT still, tempted to either go back to Control or I might start Yooka Laylee now as I'm in a "lighter" mood!

I started this on Saturday night. I'm enjoying it so far. I like the relaxed nature, as you say. Coming from Control which was very intense and annoying in parts it's a welcome break!

I downloaded Yooka also which I will dive into once I’ve boxed off Call of the Sea. I do intend to go back to Control to do the side missions but want a little break first!

Got the seize ability in Control - that one's a fun one. Up to the Astray Maze and still missing 1 ability (shield?), should I have that one by now?

Hmm I had that much earlier.
And I never used it, not even once. You can’t even use your weapon or any other ability whilst using a shield (or I couldn’t, anyway) so found it pointless.

The upgrades make it more useful, as you can hurl the shield at enemies or it explodes when used up.

It's one that's not a "required" ability, so you have to explore to find it.

Saw the credits for Control yesterday, expected a boss fight or something but the game sorta ended suddenly. The whole lead up was good (including a funny scene with the music video) so not really that upset.

Started the DLC mission by accident so will continue with that, although I got a got an out of memory error, probably due to their being a room with a lot of glass and using RTX and raytracing must have filled the memory of the graphics card.

Will probably finish of the rest of the side missions as well.

I liked the game enough to want a physical copy so I've stuck a preorder down for the PS5 version.

I finished Call of the Sea at the weekend.
It was a nice change of pace after the last couple of games I’ve played. I did find the puzzles to be really difficult at times though, and I am not ashamed to say that I did YouTube a few of them!

Very interesting story.

Now I need to decide what to play next! I am tempted to play through Gears 5 again, as I co-op’d that game earlier this year on my Xbox One and I don’t think I have ever encountered a more buggy game. It was really a chore to play. So may give that a go as I’d like to play the new DLC too.

Having completed Cyberpunk 2077 (and now also reached the max level in it) I’m back on Game Pass. Luckily that £1 for 3 months offer was still available too. :)

Started playing Doom Eternal...

:o

What a rush that game is! Absolutely relentless. You stop moving for even a second and you’re as good as dead, even on the easiest difficultly setting! It feels like playing a bullet hell SHMUP in first-person!

Also downloaded and had a quick go on Tetris Effect: Connected. So nice! Really relaxing.  The perfect companion game to Doom Eternal actually.

Game Pass is awesome. :hehe:

Hey N-E, help me decide what to play next on Game Pass, please! :hehe:

Below is a list of everything currently available on Game Pass for PC, excluding the stuff that I’ve already played:

Yeah, there’s probably some serious duds in there :heh: not to mention genres that I’m not a fan of, but I feel like taking this opportunity to step out of my gaming comfort zone a bit, so if anyone has some recommendations from that list I’d love to hear them. :)

I was going to play Slay the Spire, but I definitely don't want to be banned, so... :heh:

Anyway, cheers for the recommendations everyone, looks like Dragon Quest it is!

:peace:

Brace yourself, I invested 40 hours so far and my Little brother who played it on Switch told me I'm only near the end of the first act.
