Fused should be feeling very flattered by himself then!

I've ended up back on the wii u, and not just for Pikmin! Need for speed's leaderboards combined with Flink's miiverse posts has managed to get me back on that rather than anything else. I forgot how good simple little features like those can be in getting you playing.

Eh, yeah right. Art Academy: SketchPad is now available for purchase in both North America and Europe. For $3.99 / €3.99, the app can be yours. You’ll need 271MB of free space in order to download the new Art Academy. Shame we have to pay for it but it won't exactly break the bank.

Why's it a shame? It was software that was developed, using manpower and thus costing the company. It's only logical that they make some money on it

Like I said it's not much but if they truly want people embracing this then it should be free like the browser or Miiverse. I doubt the manpower or cost outlay was massive, I'd say most if not all of this is reworked Art Academy assets.

Because it's almost like a demo of the main game coming out next year??! Because it seems to be for better miiverse pictures and you know, miiverse was developed, used man power and thus cost the company, but that's free!

My biggest problem with Art Academy is that if marketed right it would basically be a massive system seller. Some of the drawings are amazing and the creativity is the kind of thing that lends itself to a Nintendo console.

This game should have been a launch title and marketed heavily. Games like this, Wii Sports HD and Mario Kart should all be out or coming by the end of the year and marketed to death.

Instead some of the most influential games and those with the best ability to sell systems just aren't being pushed out.

You know those golden Wii Remotes that came with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword? Well look what's happened to mine!

wiiremote.png

Oh noooooo!

Not quite sure how this has happened, but the paint has come right off. Think it might have something to do with the summer heat and the Wii Remote Jacket. Whatever the reason, it has made me a sad person indeed.

If anybody has a spare one, now would be a good time to show that you're a nice guy/gal and give it to me! No? Ok... =(

Jackets... Just say 'NO!' :p

But seriously, I've had mine out of the jacket since I had it, still fine.

Just had a moment or two of panic looking for my zelda mote seeing if it has been damaged.

Thankfully it hasnt. Phew! Id be gutted of it had!

That sucks dude.

On a side note though, remember that vid I made of that story you told us of thinking NintendoLand was stuck in your WiiU but it was in your Wii..... I'm getting a few comments on it recently of people saying it's fake taht nobody could make that mistake :p

Contact Nintendo about that. It seems like the rubber sweat against the paintwork and ended up separating it from the plastic. As they recommend the jacket is used, you're in a good position to have it replaced (if they still even have any).

Did you leave it in direct sunlight or something? Mine's still fine.

Actually, I've grown to liking having the jacket on. Makes it more comfortable to hold for me.

Each to their own... : peace:

I wear a jacket outside but my Wii remote certainly doesn't need one, especially not my gold Zelda themed one, why would you want to cover up something so beautiful with an ugly and unnecessary 'safety' measure? ::shrug:

If it genuinely makes it easier for people to hold then that's fine, but I've never had any issues there personally as I've found the device fits nicely in the hand, the jacket just makes it look like something rather... unsavoury. :blank:

I'd contact nintendo about that! a limited edition piece shuldn't destroy itself! i'd also try and get them to throw in a free gold nunchuk to match it (man i wish NOE would offer those)

@Guy and @Agent Gibbs, thanks for the advice, but when I called they said that they don't have any gold Wii Remotes due to it being a limited edition item (though they did offer to replace it with a regular white one if it wasn't working). Guess if I want another I have no choice but to buy one somewhere. Boohoo.

I seem to remember one or two members here initially finding it hard to believe that I could be that stupid as well. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. Most of you just laughed at me though. =P

As for why I keep the jackets on, one reason is because I find it more comfortable (though only marginally so). The other reason is... well... may as well add another tale of misfortune to my repertoire!

ku-medium.jpg

Remember this?

That's right, I was a victim of the Wii Remote wrist strap problem from the early days of the Wii. But it was a long time after the media had been covering it and by this point Nintendo had started making the thicker wrist straps and the jackets. I hadn't replaced the wrist straps because I thought that the whole thing was blown out of proportion, and these people just weren't being careful enough. I later found out that my dad was one of these people.

I found out by having a Wii Remote smashed against my head after he got a bit too excited playing Wii Sports and the wrist strap snapped. Since then, thicker wrist straps and jackets for me! To make sure other people don't destroy my Wii Remotes... or my head. That said, the days of excessive waggle seem to be at an end, so I guess these things aren't as necessary as they used to be.

you could try respraying the wii mote, just buff it with a low grade sand paper to remove loose paint and score the surface, then find a decent colour matched paint and give it a coat or two. I've not sprayed a wiimote, but i've repainted a fair few action figures that needed repair/customisation, in particular a Doctor Fate (DC character if you don't know) who was supposed to be the modern version, and had a gold helmet, only the toy company cheaped out and painted gloves/boots/flexible cape in yellow, i repainted him in the identical gold to the wiimote, that was around 5 years ago and he's perfect still

I hate extra bulk like the Wiimote jacket so I remove it. The remotes also don't fit properly into our cradle charger with them on, so fuck them. That's right, FUCK THEM. I always thought Nintendo missed a trick by not releasing jackets themed like characters. Ice Climbers anyone?

Forget a character themed jacket design, Ice Climbers 2 for Wii U (or 3DS), make it so Nintendo.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

I've bought a Wii U Pro Controller from Amazon. The controller itself is lovely but one of the led lights at the bottom (indicates what player you are) doesn't work. Number 2. Fuck saaaake.

I can live with this, but I'm worried that this will lead to further problems with that controller? What do I do? Contact Amazon and send it back for a replacement?

Meh.

I'll second this. Miiverse art is/was both amazing and huge. For me, it won't be a sale but it WILL be a lot of time spent on miiverse, liking and viewing. It's a huge app/feature for the creatives, I agree it should have been more present. As someone getting likes on all your b&w miiverse pictures what else would you consider doing that purchasing something that'd give you even better art tools? It's a creative/sharing mentality, it's social media at its core.

EDIT: Two bits from @Calv that I just been seeing;
