My card was charged by ShopTo this morning!

 

Good timing as well as it should be on my next statement after the one that's due to arrive so hopefully I won't need to actually 'pay' until late December/early January which is a welcome surprise.

 

 

I just decided to pay mine last night (just to be sure) lol

 

In other news my P4C turtle beach headset arrived today.

I cannot believe what I am reading about Amazon's customer service.

 

- Amazon Delivery is shit.

- Chat is shit.

- I hate them.

 

I am sure you all read about the clusterfuck that was my Iron Man 3 order. It had a number of problems;

 

- Received an e-mail saying I got upgraded from first class to release day delivery at no cost/a saving.

- Didn't receive it on release, so complained.

- Saving of postage not shown in invoice.

- Saving of price reduced not shown in invoice.

- Representative I spoke to didn't know about any of this stuff (I got it all automatically but didn't know).

- It took 90 minutes. It was awful, awful, awful. Unprofessional shit.

 

 

And then this week;

 

- They attempted to deliver my game and failed (do not know how).

- They e-mailed me saying they would try again on Monday because Amazon Delivery don't deliver at weekends. I re-arranged delivery to my work.

- Got an e-mail on Saturday stating they delivered successfully to my work. So I had to go to work to pick it up.

 

And as Sheikah says, they never get stuff to you on release.

 

I think they are complete and utter dog shit.

 

 

Whereas Shopto have been flawless, and my interactions with them have always been flawless. They go above and beyond - send games early, show you photo, let you know by e-mail all kinds of extras (i.e. Watchdogs delayed, we are charging card early, etc), good prices, loyalty scheme, free NORMAL FUCKING postage (i.e. if I'm not in, I can pick it up from Post Office), good customer service, expansive and easy to use website, good pre-order system. They are absolutely brilliant. A lot of places could learn from them.

I've never dealt with Amazon.com, but....technically speaking this guy still had a shitty time before getting a free PS4. I WOULD be happy with a free PS4 but the dude says he spent 4 days fucking around with them.

I will say, Amazon delivery has become really crap around where I am. They stopped using Royal Mail and now use Amazon Logistics, which is basically made up (they use other random couriers). But unlike RM there's no depot to pick your stuff up, and when a guy missed delivery he still recorded it as delivered (prompting a length phone conversation with foreign customer service).

 

Although I did like when my old Kindle broke they refunded me entirely and sent me a new one. So basically a free Kindle.

PS4 System Software Update 1.51 Coming Soon

 

Later today, the next system software update for PlayStation 4 (version 1.51) will be available. With this minor required update, stability of system software has been improved. In addition, minor refinements to elements of the system UI (such as clearly indicating when a user downloads a game and a game patch at the same time) have been introduced.

 

In the North American region, automatic downloads for system and game updates are enabled by default when PS4 is in stand-by mode. Once system software update 1.51 is available later tonight, your PS4 will automatically download it, enabling you to update quickly and easily.

The patch/update/install thing makes a lot of sense.

It is good that by the time we get the PS4 games like BF4 should hopefully be fixed. The patches for 1080p on COD and AC4 are all ready out so that's good.

 

Also its interesting to note the framerate problems some reviewers were complaining about on COD weren't because the framerate was dipping below 60fps but because the FR was going higher than 60 so it juddered lol. Its better with the 1080p patch but will be sorted properly soon.

Had a phone-call from GAME, my copy of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Buccanier edition is ready for collection tomorrow morning.

Another kick in the balls for the XBO. COD runs at 720p on XBO so it can manage to stay at 60fps. It runs at 1080p on the PS4 and it runs so well the unlocked frame rate goes above 60fps.

Fuck off IGN, like you need the ability to stream more than 75Mbps (station) at any given time you morons. Maybe think about the fact that if it was to work as an access point it could (by dictat of the standard) have up to 4x4 MIMO which would do over 200Mbps nicely. All without completely skullfucking the spectrum like 802.11ac is going to do.

 

How about looking into H.265 which can possibly deliver 4K compressed video over only a 30Mbps bandwidth? Funnily enough I think Sony will have that totally covered considering they will be employing it in... I dunno... ALL of their high end video tech.
