somme Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I personally love DriveClub. It's a great racing game, handles and looks great.
Cookyman Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I would avoid Driveclub. Its quite weak, looks and sounds amazing but the gameplay isnt that great at all. Infact its a bad flawed game even with the patching going on. LBP3 on the other hand is really good. Superb game! I only dug into it yesterday night. I have to agree. There is plenty of reason to come back weith the updates etc. but it also has plenty of depth. Isnt a push over etc. There are more major updates coming. Definately changed my opinion of the game. edit: I still think the game is much more mediocre than what it should have been. The club system is broken and dull. Yet its a major part of the game. Creating one and staying in an active club is difficult. The whole dynamic events stuff is terrible. Its lazy and unexciting. Worse still I cant get my head around the handling. I am stuck on the pro trophy near the end but cant find any car or anything to progress. I dont feel the game is good enough to warrant any special effort. I am pretty sure Sony decided to release this just to put it out of its misery. Awful. But it has great stuff (mostly based on taking advantage of the hardware) which is what seems to interest people. @Choze I wish you'd make your mind with regard to Driveclub one minute you like the game then you hate it. LBP3 on the other hand is a superb game despite the fact you've only played it for a few hours - you probably hate that now though too.
Jimbob Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Driveclub is a fantastic racing game to be experienced. If you were to get this game @RedShell, i would recommend getting the season pass as well. It adds additional tours each month which keeps the game fresh. Most of the issues this had have certainly been ironed out, online is very much stable now.
RedShell Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 It has arrived. LOL @ me trying to find the power button. Very sleek looking system, perhaps too sleek. Currently doing the system update...
Happenstance Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 It has arrived. LOL @ me trying to find the power button. Very sleek looking system, perhaps too sleek. Currently doing the system update... I still forget which is the power button and which is the eject!

RedShell Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 The power button is on the controller Thanks for that. Does the gigantic light on the controller also indicate battery life somehow? I guess I could just read the manual, but who does that when they get a new toy!? Must say, I'm kind of annoyed they changed the USB connector. More bloody cables...
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Thanks for that. Does the gigantic light on the controller also indicate battery life somehow? Very useful as I use it to charge my phone and can use the phone cable with the controller which is slightly longer.
RedShell Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 The cable is micro USB. Very useful as I use it to charge my phone and can use the phone cable with the controller which is slightly longer.Yeah, I just liked the fact I could use the same USB cable for the Wii U Pro Controller and DS3. No big deal, first world problems and all that.
Hero-of-Time Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I was more annoyed with the fact that once again they packed in a charging cable that was tiny in length. If the pad needs charging while I'm playing a game then I have to practically sit on top of the TV. I bought a longer cable from Amazon for a few quid but it didn't last long and stopped charging the pad.

Just about long enough for my setup though.
Ashley Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Yeah, I just liked the fact I could use the same USB cable for the Wii U Pro Controller and DS3. No big deal, first world problems and all that. Still, at least there's just one connection for all controllers *glares at Wii U* Anyway, as Flink said at least with it being Micro USB there are butt load of cables you can get of all different lengths and colours if you need it!
Emerald Emblem Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Shame your not after one now. £280 is a bargain for the machine. I got my little brother to loan me the money for that PS4, getting a free game as well for £280 you can't go wrong. (LBP3 w/black and DriveClub w/white) It's arriving tomorrow, much hype!

I bought a second controller and a charger to avoid having to stop playing to charge the controller.
somme Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I have a second controller on charge now, so I never need to worry. But before that I just had my laptop near me so could play and charge regardless.
Esequiel Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 If many more people get this machine we will have to rename the forum PS Europe.....
Hero-of-Time Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 If many more people get this machine we will have to rename the forum PS Europe..... May as well do it now. There's probably more activity in the other console side of things compared to the Nintendo board. It's certainly a hell of a lot more friendly over here. Hell, I posted a Nintendo prediction thread earlier and already the arguing has started in there. It's getting to the point where I question why I even go on there anymore.

The driving/handling requires patience but it ultimately pays off. I don't understand the "it's a flawed game" part because...it isn't really flawed. It's got a fairly strict system but the patch that was released early on made it slightly more lenient, but for the better. If you stick with it and find the right car for you in each class, you're good to go really. Yeah, I just liked the fact I could use the same USB cable for the Wii U Pro Controller and DS3. No big deal, first world problems and all that. It would be good to actually have one cable that was universally accepted for all controllers, that would save a lot of issues. I was more annoyed with the fact that once again they packed in a charging cable that was tiny in length. If the pad needs charging while I'm playing a game then I have to practically sit on top of the TV. I bought a longer cable from Amazon for a few quid but it didn't last long and stopped charging the pad. The cable length is pretty short. I've ended up using the cable I got for my phone charger as that was longer in length. I also have a plug that the usb cable plugs into to, so I either charge it that way or plug it into my laptop, which is near enough always with me.
somme Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 If many more people get this machine we will have to rename the forum PS Europe..... I was thinking about this a while ago. With all the PS owners and activity in the "other consoles" board perhaps it'd be a nice idea to become a multi-platform site, still with a strong fondness for Nintendo. Might also help to combat peoples complaints about loss of activity on the forum by gaining some new forum members.
Blade Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I sit near a plug socket so just put my cable in my iphone usb plug and charge the pad whilst playing.

We'd need a load of new staff to cover news, reviews etc as well as a lot of time to get the background area set up to accommodate a lot of new consoles and adding all the games to the database. Want to do it? :p
