It's based on the Indian event Holi (unless that one is just something random). We've got one on campus in 2 weeks, I'm looking forward to it but slightly worried by how easy it is to shower afterwards?!

The stuff came out of my clothes fine (although I put my jeans and t-shirt in together, as I didn't actually think my t-shirt would come clean, so that's now dyed blue).

Doesn't take too much scrubbing to wash it off of your body.

Stop trying to make fridgeselfie happen. It's not going to happen.

I fucking love you sometimes! I love anybody who quotes Mean Girls though...

Couple of recent snaps

Based off it yeah, but I can't help agree in that I feel it's another trendy cash-in. Is it really a Holi festival if it's nowhere near Holi, and in all likelihood, attended by a load of people not even remotely 'celebrating' it?

I do see your point and mostly agree but how many of us go to church at Christmas?

Is that any different to Christmas, Easter or any other mainstream "religious" event?

But how many people have various little Christmases throughout the year around the world where lots of tickets are sold and money is made by the organisers? Even with Easter, Christmas etc at least they're properly done annual events with their unique celebrations around the time they occur. Most of these supposed 'holi' festivals of colour I've seen are nowhere near it!

What is Holi even a celebration of anyway? Powder paint?

Similar to diwali, christmas, or easter - it's a celebration related to some religious text/story from hinduism with an annual occurence around the same time each year(marchish).

Well most of these religious events were originally just taken/stolen/adapted from original cultures and events anyway, so surely this is just another step forwards in the evolution of these events? Christmas and Easter are nothing like the celebrations from centuries ago; and even less like the Pagan Winter Solstice festivals that Christmas is based on.

When I was doing it, I wasn't thinking about how I was participating in a religious festival, I didn't care. It was just a bit of fun to enjoy with a few friends.

I know, but imagine if I posted some pictures of me now in the summer all dressed in red and green with my christmas tree up and then posted it going 'Look, did my first Christmas today!' - it'd seem so weird and out of place no? That's the same I see when folks are posting up all their 'Holi' photos nowhere around the occasion itself!

Was it a cold day, @Blade? You could kill someone with those nipples, bwaha.

I joke, you all look very sexy. I'm convinced that we are the sexiest Nintendo forum out there.

Edit: Nevermind, just seen ReZ's post.

Pretty much the only reasonable picture of us from the weekend @Blade... we're far too much a mess on the others, haha!

I don't smoke so I'd not normally be a twat with a cigar but it was a celebration so needs must! Also, it's not urine in the glass, it's Jim Bean Honey, haha.

Like to think @Blade is holding a bottle of champagne just out of shot there, living the high life!

To be honest the champagne came out later that night! Haha
