Daft
See, this is why I ask. Some people say it often, other people never. I didn't take it as anything significant but I'm always suspect of random drunken calls and/or any form of affection.
Oxigen_Waste
Well, I do say it alot, but it's usually to the same 3-4 people. So an unexpected I love you is always weird.

nightwolf
So...didn't really know where to post this. My friend called me up an hour ago, she was upset earlier today (crying and the usual blah - was 'love' related. Basically the guy she flirts with and was kind of going out with but not really but pretty much, told her he 'loved' her but because they both had so much other crazyness in their lives it would be best if they don't see each other...or something) so I looked after her for a bit and we bantered. She called me up about an hour ago drunk. Got all they usual stuff 'You're a really good friend' blah, blah, blah. I'm kind of chuckling and saying that's what I'm here for. Then she says 'I love you'. Now usually I'm happy to do what I normally do and ignore any form of compliment/affection but...is that a normal thing to say to a friend? I'm not good with humans who have positive feelings regarding me and I've ignored/missed more explicit signals in the past. I can deal with the 'hate' side of emotions. Maybe I'm a sociopath... Anyway, needed to spill. My female mates and I say we love each other all the time.. The guys to girls..not so much. I'd just ask, just incase, it's an awful thing to do, but it gets it out there. Murr
I don't know if this should be in the good stuff or the bad stuff thread but, I'm playing my first Pro-5 match tonight in 2 years. While it'll be awesome to be playing football again, my fitness is poo. Originally we had till March to get into shape for the season, but we've been entered a month early, just hoping the swimming and gym sessions so far will help. On the plus side 2 of the guys in the team with us are looking very very out of shape. We had a kick about Sunday afternoon, and they were puffing and panting within 10 minutes. Eenuh
May have sold 3 pairs of earrings and a ring to someone who used to go to my school. Hadn't heard from her in years, so it's weird to suddenly get a mail saying "I love your jewellery, I want some!". =P But yeah, sale! Whoo! *still not made any profit haha* But I don't mind, doing this for fun. Plus I'm planning to go sell on a crafts market this Summer, so this is a nice barometer to check what people like and what they don't like. =)
The fish
I'm in Istanbul airport! I'm waiting to me connection to Konya, so thank Jeebus for free/broken into Wi-Fi! I've been up since 4AM, and as such am slightly knackered. Fuck me, I'm literally a stone's throw from Asia. Actually, it's a little frustrating to be so close yet so far - I'll have to wait until my connecting flight lands before I can say I've been to three continents... Now usually I'm happy to do what I normally do and ignore any form of compliment/affection but...is that a normal thing to say to a friend? Girls do say it, but, in my experience, they only say it when there is some attraction there. Disclaimer: I might not understand emotions either. Anyway, it's Spring!! Am I the only person who feels a hundred times better than they did in Winter? Didn't realise how deflated I actually was over December and January. I bumped into an asshole (see the bad stuff thread), but even that couldn't ruin my mood. I'm getting fitter again, my muscles are growing, it's warm, it's sunny and I've been loudly singing Flight of the Conchords songs all day! Daft
Yeah, I've got that vibe before. Also, I'm with you on the weather. Doing exercise and going cycling has become something I really want to do (as opposed to kind of not want to because it's wet and cold but I go anyway and then I enjoy it). I wake up and I'm like FUCKYEAHIT'SSUNNY!! I feel so much better I almost declared it t-shirt weather t'other day.

The fish
In Konya in Turkey, am slightly well-lit and have had the most lovely kebab ever - see the "Fish's misadventures in Moravia" thread (ie what happened in my last "teaching" job) and reverse all the positives/negatives to understand what this is like. I'm so happy this has worked out. Or maybe just drunk. Given that I've formulated plans to start a v/blog, probably the latter.

Paj!
The entire day was fantastic. I love. What I wish my days were more like. Up at 7am, been doing things ALL day until 11. No boredom...yes. I awoke to the sun and a clean blue sky - I Hadda Feeling. Went in with my group (two of my closest friends at uni, also both at Seething Wells with me), which was very good. Then spent time in town shopping for uni materials stuff/researching how to make a Glam-Rock Camp Monster work on screen in a costume shop. Sun still stunning us. Then we went back to halls where 1 of our trion prepared us spaghetti bolognese (really nice, he is Italian though so you'd assume) while I opened/examined the kilt and sporan my mum sent me in the post. Then we went into the central grassy area to the picnic benches to stain a large piece of plywood/mess around in the sun. Meeting joke cameo characters every so often, staying to give us a recovery item, could be useful. As the sun drew in, we finished, and one of my OTHER closest friends just showed up on his bike, like out of the blue (felt like a TV show where this sort of thing is the norm) and joined us. Hilarious chats/times/lives all evening, culminating in a trip to Pizza Express for dinner (free with my Gift Card). That was my favourite day. Really simple, involving no drinking/drugs/escapism/divertions. Just loving the fact. I love that my friend and I have a "joke book" (actually my filmmaking note book) where we write down everything we make up that is hilarious, as we realised we've started forgetting where our jokes come from. Used so many times today. "Bitch PAHLEEZ - Clayhill's a DUHMP." *person being assaulted/raped*"I have money!" "I don' wanchow moneh" "Please, I have children!" "Fine, I'll have them." Pornography is when you...see a dick. Means nothing to everyone here but I felt like sharing. Edited February 8, 2011 by Paj!

Murr
Won our first game of the season last night 6-5. We went 1-0 up, then by half time we were 3-1 down, but great second half display, scored twice within minutes of 2nd half kick off to put it to 3-3. They scored to go back into the lead 4-3, from then we grabbed 3 in a row for 6-4, the scored again with a couple of minutes left to bring it to 6-5, then it was all defending the closing stages of the game, literally seconds left they get a free kick rightoutside the D, the cocky kid faked passing it one way to back heel it at goal. Easy save for keeper, he rolled it out, and we just kept it in their corner till full time. Lovely job One guy on their team really thought that he was awesome, and was very greedy. At one stage I had the ball and he was behind me nipping at the back of my legs and brought me down, he got the ball, I pursued and bashed him into the wall, got the ball, then he properly kicked my legs out with no intent to get the ball. When I got back up I pushed him, he squared up to me then that was it both teams got their hand bags out heh. Love it.

Murr
Why are most of the teams named after just one person? They haven't updated their team names yet. It's a new league for Tuesdays. Normally only 3 leagues, but they've created this 4th due to demand of new teams. So none of these new teams have actually submitted a team name yet. ours PHP Argyle stands for 'Peg Hill Pirates', Peg Hill being the name of the skate park we all met each other at and used to hang around at during the summer when we were care-free..... Ellmeister
Nice, I've got my game this afternoon. We've only won 1 game in our last 12 :p BUT we drew against top of the table boys who haven't dropped any other points. Because our team is a mish mash of whoever turns up (apart from a core 3/4) our positioning is a bit poor really. I scored my best goal ever last week, so my mate who took me to Chelsea game gave me a £30 discount because it was such a good goal!

EEVILMURRAY
I'm very proud of myself. After abandoning it halfway through I got my shit sorted and finally finished watching the first season of 24. Although I can't see the appeal of all the Bauer ass-banging* I found it very entertaining. *I'm sure this will become more evident in following series'
