I decided to take a bit of a gamble and book tickets home:

Three weeks over Christmas and New Year, hopefully by then travel will at least be possible and we can see family for the first time in two and a half years. Already getting excited for it!

I'll keep my schedule clear.

botwwww.jpg

I got these about a week ago, the first two as they were pretty cheap in GAME and looked interesting and BOTW as it's something I've been meaning to try again since I dabbled in it in 2017.

The high school game is fine but just play it like on the train and stuff, you go out for short missions which are about 10 minutes long which in turn get you money or prestige for you to upgrade your school and get more/better students for more expeditions.

Arcade Sprits has been great so far, I find visual novels very hit and miss but I like the humour in this and the setting of a modern world where arcades never died is very up my alley.

Late to the party but I'm enjoying BOTW immensely, I guess I just wasn't in the right frame of mind when it first came around in 2017 (and I was playing on WiiU then lul).

SNKRX for my phone. YES, I'M A MOBILE GAMER NOW. Not really, though. It's only 2.39€ and Google had an offer to get 2€ off so...

Anyways, been watching Northernlion for years now (pretty much the only "Let's Play"-channel I follow) and he started playing this game quite a while ago. I was very much interested in playing it myself, but I'm not big on PC gaming (which might change in two weeks :o). Found out today that there's a mobile version and I just had to get it. Haven't tried it, yet, but will do soon :D

There's lots of interesting and experimental games on mobile. No need to assume otherwise :p

I should have a look for those for something to spend my Google reward credit on.

Amazon.com: Fitbit Inspire HR Heart Rate and Fitness Tracker, One Size (S and L Bands Included), 1 Count: Health & Personal Care

Fitbit Inspire HR

I've wanted a smart watch for a while, but never really been able to justify the price. Now that I'm cycling more again, I did decide that I at least wanted something with a heart rate sensor, but still didn't want to spend too much money.

I had a casual look on eBay and managed to pick this one up second hand for just over £20. I wouldn't even call it a smart watch TBH, but it does what I would want from one for now. I'll probably still upgrade to a proper smart watch at some point, but this one is fine for now.

I was a bit concerned that it would be a bit grotty, what with it being presumably used for exercising, but it actually looks pretty much new. I also gave it a wipe down with some anitbac spray, so it's all good.

It does have some interesting quirks, which is more to do with Fitbit in general, rather than my specific watch. One example is that in order to have it display a 24 hour clock, you have to sign in to your Fitbit account on a browser to change the setting. It can't be done in the app or on the watch itself. There is also no way to display the date as DD/MM. You're stuck with the American MM/DD. Other than that, it's pretty good though.

Can't go wrong for £20 really.

Hmm must be specific to that one. I've got the Versa 2 and it has the date in a logical manner.

I considered upgrading mine recently to get a bit more health statistics but some of those are locked behind the monthly paywall and sod that.

Best I can do is set it to the "Jul 1" format, but that involves having a specific watch face. Annoyingly, that face doesn't allow me to view stats such as heart rate etc on the clock screen, so it's not as useful.

I've read about some people being able to change the date format by changing their region to a certain country, but I'd rather stick with actual English. Plus not everyone reports it as working.

Won't be getting these for a month or two as they are out of stock but they had a big discount today on Amazon so figured I may as well order now then wait. I did love the Samsung Buds Pro I bought earlier this year but they've had nothing but problems the last month or so, switching modes on their own and battery drain so I'm giving up on them.

I’ve been eyeing up the same offer for those as well. Not sure if to hold off a bit longer.

I might have to contact Amazon support and ask if their lowest price guarantee for preorders is the same for an order that’s waiting for stock. If so then if the price goes down further then I should only pay that lower price.

I checked and unfortunately any price reductions won't be reflected in my order. Shame but not unexpected. To be honest I was surprised to see this discount so soon after launch so that's good enough for me.

Was reading through the guide to JRPGs and i came across a game i used to have years ago. Seems they ported it to the PS3 in 2009 or so. I never really finished it at the time. Found it on ebay for cheep so i'm going to try and go through it again.

Eternal Sonata was always one I meant to play but then never did. I have a feeling I was planning on getting it right around the time my first 360 red ringed and then it just fell to the side.

Yeah, I didn't think they would. I was surprised as well, it seems to be sold out most of the time as well. I bit the bullet and ordered yesterday, you can't seem to order them today (they are showing it ships from EU now).

Very happy with this if it works out. Amazon have allowed me to actually order it, so I assume that means they're expecting stock.

Discovery has been impossible to get without paying silly eBay prices (usually £100+), but managed to order it for £22 from Amazon.

They came back in stock yesterday through Amazon proper, ready for delivery Saturday but mine never dispatched and now they’re out of stock. Complained on chat and they just kept spouting that it would be delivered by the date provided. I might just cancel. I hate ordering through Amazon sometimes.

Edit: I cancelled them. I’ll order again somewhere else down the line when another site gets a discount.

That's unfortunate, because they've just shipped mine. I actually would have preferred to wait a month.

Arrived today, early impressions are good so far. The case is a lot smaller than I expected.

Got a desk mat to complete my WFH setup. Had it custom made by a specialist felt company in Germany and have to say I’m pretty pleased with it:
