Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Genres would be too annoying. Unless something is clearly within a genre, it would just cause confusion about where to post about the band/song/artist. I agree. Labelling music in genres can be difficult and could cause a lot of troublesome arguing over the matter.
Happenstance Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 One solution could be having two music threads. One for Chair and Paj and one for everyone else :p
jayseven Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I think the point was that nobody was asking for new songs to be recommended, so it just seemed like everyone was selling and nobody was buying. There are better ways to make music threads. Playlist ideas is always good (music to has sex to, music to kill by, songs that mention the word boobies, etc), or whatever. Genre threads may be too claustraphobic, but the music thread's problem was it lacked any boundaries and as such was very hit-and-miss. We all know this was true.
Paj! Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 One solution could be having two music threads. One for Chair and Paj and one for everyone else :p You have no say, you admit to not liking music.
Happenstance Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I admit to not really caring about music these days, its not that I dont like it. Either way I dont care.
Ashley Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 (music to has sex to, music to kill by, songs that mention the word boobies, etc) All three covered in one! If you want to recommend a song start a thread. We won't hunt you down and kill you if nobody replies.
dan-likes-trees Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Contrary to most, Music thread is the thing that I probably miss the most. Probably because I tolerated / quite liked the PajDriver experience (though was never a fan of that female singer they love who's name currently escapes me) Anyway, I was thinking a Spotify playlsit thread that I did might work nicely, but I can see it being replaced soon. A new thread for a new album isn't a bad idea but I never seem to find any new music via NE lately, which I used to quite alot. Shrug.
nightwolf Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 There definitely needs to be some form of music thread, but I think definitely not the old music thread, I don't think I ever really liked posting in there and only a couple of times were my posts replied too. /emo. Anyway, I have no idea, just as long as it isn't as dominated as it once was.
Frank Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I pretty enjoyed the music thread and for the posts that I posted in there, I'm sure most if not all got a comment or two in response. I also listen to a couple of new things which I haven't listened to before. But I can see why people wouldn't want it back. I'm sad that nobody has mentioned this but it would be great if you could bring back the Sexuality Thread!!
Diageo Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I think you could just make a new one, specific to whatever you want to talk about.
MoogleViper Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I'm sad that nobody has mentioned this but it would be great if you could bring back the Sexuality Thread!! We did, but Scoop got upset.

I'm sad that nobody has mentioned this but it would be great if you could bring back the Sexuality Thread!! The history of the Sexuality Thread is one peppered with turmoil and point proving. Frankly the point has been proved and it doesn't need to be segregated now. Plus it wasn't really anything. It was a mish mash of relationship issues, sexuality related news and other stuff. Is something troubling you my boy?
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 The sexuality thread was a decent thread, I thought. It probably did stem away from its original purpose though, but then a lot of good threads do. It did become a relationships thread or problems thread in the end, but it was also quite inclusive and I don't think many people were too afraid to post in it for fear of ridicule. So, maybe change the name, or keep the name or something. I dunno. There will probably be a thread similar to it in the future anyway.
Raining_again Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Sexuality thread was a good thread because if you had minor problems you could talk about it without creating a thread that is likely to be deemed as spam. And its always very interesting reading.
Happenstance Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I guess theres also the fact that not everyone would want to create a thread to discuss something about their sexuality which everyone will see, while with the general thread they knew the people most likely reading about it are the ones they'd want to talk to.
Ashley Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Okay so more of a 'relationship advice' thread for all your woes and hoes? Any sexuality news in there was either reasonably trivial or worthy of its own thread really (Prop 8).
Happenstance Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Yeah I mean any news like that could easily justify it's own thread, I think a relationship one would be a good idea for the more personal stuff. (also I still want rate movies back :p ) Does nobody else think that movie chat has gone down since it left? I know we've had ones with their own threads but I'd bet people have watched quite a few that haven't been spoken about, yet might have with the old thread.
Ashley Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 But they may have been spoken about, but not discussed. For instance I watched 'Inu to watashi no 10 no yakusoku' yesterday and may have posted about it (and could do in the World Cinema thread) but I doubt anyone would make any form of response. Except maybe awww cute.
Happenstance Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 But that doesn't mean it couldn't have inspired someone to watch the movie. I've mention before that I think quick reviews with ratings are actually quite helpful before you see a movie. Afterwards you can always go into it's own thread.
Wesley Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Post your crap! But not in the same big shitty thread. At least split it up some how. If you can't figure out a sensible way to split it then I wouldn't want it back. Death to massive threads!
mcj metroid Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 The sexuality thread was more fun when we had more gay people. There are some left mind you. But I don't agree with bringing it back.

Ellmeister Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Shame it didn't work on Ashley, he kind of enjoyed the prodding and tarring.
