Aimless Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Today I've mainly been playing Persona 4. Other than that I've been humming the music from said game; the vocals are in English but sung by a Japanese person that clearly can't speak the language, so the songs evidently wormed their way into my head whilst I tried to work out what the hell the lyrics were. Also, "ironik" is no more ironic than, say, it raining on your wedding day. Unless you happen to be a meteorologist.
Wesley Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Also, "ironik" is no more ironic than, say, it raining on your wedding day. Unless you happen to be a meteorologist. Or a weather man... Or... a witch... Or a... *runs out of ideas*
Guest Jordan Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Today I've mainly been playing Persona 4. Other than that I've been humming the music from said game; the vocals are in English but sung by a Japanese person that clearly can't speak the language, so the songs evidently wormed their way into my head whilst I tried to work out what the hell the lyrics were. The battle theme is this: Intro:Now I face outI hold out I reach out to the truth of my life seeking to seize on the whole moment, yeah Yeah, naked truth lies only if you realize Appearing in nobody's eyes till they sterilize Stop the guerrilla warfare to keep it fair Bro, change your rage to a smarter greater cause You know the stake is high stardom is near Those who sympathized you die killers pass by Do not waste your time in hating flirting guys Use your might to AIs do justice to them all Now I face out I hold out I reach out to the truth of my life seeking to seize on the whole moment to now break away Oh God let me out Can you let me out Can you set me free from this dark inner world Save me now Last beat in the soul Its pretty hard to understand though...
bluey Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 if he was DJ awsum spellar ~ it would be ironic... or not, because apparently irony isnt what i think it is... but jamba's never gotten around to telling me the TRUE definition of irony as according to him.... so it shall remain a mystery
dwarf Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Also, "ironik" is no more ironic than, say, it raining on your wedding day. Unless you happen to be a meteorologist. But it is ironic. Not that ironic but it could easily be described as ironic. It's more ironic than your suggested alternative anyway. But Bluey he obviously intended to spell it wrong for the irony?
bluey Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 if DJing had anything to do with literacy then misspelling his own name would be ironic... but it's not anything to do with spelling... so misspelling his name isn't ironic. it's just... misspelt.
dwarf Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I understand where you are coming from but the fact he is choosing that name and getting it wrong is irony no? Because I think he is intending the name to be ironic. I hate the word now.
bluey Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 urgh..... if he was supposed to be/saying he was a great speller while spelling his name wrong - DJ geenius - THAT would be ironic. misspelling the word ironic is retarded. misspelling the word genius is ironic.
dwarf Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Ok Ok it's just that I thought this would also be considered ironic - it isn't a pun or sarcasm really.
bluey Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 ARGH i dont care anymore i'm too freaked out by my housemate's INCREDIBLY loud sex session O_O!!! I CAN HEAR IT FROM UPSTAIRS!! ...that's just unnatural O_O
Jamba Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 ARGH i dont care anymore i'm too freaked out by my housemate's INCREDIBLY loud sex session O_O!!! I CAN HEAR IT FROM UPSTAIRS!! ...that's just unnatural O_O Will? (I'm hoping Will... the idea of some of your other flatmates having sex is terrifying!)
bluey Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Will? (I'm hoping Will... the idea of some of your other flatmates having sex is terrifying!) yeah it was will and dom... and i just discovered that another downside of my room being right next to the shower is that i got to hear the post-sex shower conversation about how awesome it was. W____W i was kinda tempted to call out "BAH! he sounded like he was faking it!!" just to see what they'd do ...jesus i'm evil O_o
Coolness Bears Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Walk in nonchlant and start making a cup of tea! :p
Jimbob Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Um, nothing more disturbing than hearing other people go at it. Jeez, it is one of the most disturbing things ever. My days been alright, half was drinking as such and the rest was sobering up for the evening. Just chilling out now for the rest of the night, watching a movie and all that.
Ashley Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 yeah it was will and dom... and i just discovered that another downside of my room being right next to the shower is that i got to hear the post-sex shower conversation about how awesome it was. W____Wi was kinda tempted to call out "BAH! he sounded like he was faking it!!" just to see what they'd do ...jesus i'm evil O_o Haha I get that all the time as my housemate's room is next to mine, as is the shower. In fact I just heard some noise and was like "what's that...?" before realising. Two weeks of quiet gone. :P I should do some work but...meh. Instead im looking at yell.com for restaurants open for lunch tomorrow/looking at Japanese hotels. I have Google Books open in the background though...
Jon Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Just got back from hospital, My Granma fell when she was on the toilet last night and broke her hip. This was at 1am, she managed to crawl through to the living room but she had to lie there for 7 hours until the carers came in. She had her operation last night and seems to be in good spirits. Can't imagine that being good for anyone, let alone someone who is 84.
bluey Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Walk in nonchlant and start making a cup of tea! :p they're not doing it in the kitchen!!
My Buttons are Magic! Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Haha I get that all the time as my housemate's room is next to mine, as is the shower. Coolness Bears Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 they're not doing it in the kitchen!! I know (I'm spying on them from the trees!) But It would be great if you walked in with a Kettle and just plugged it in and sat there waiting for it to boil not saying a word!
Jamba Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I know (I'm spying on them from the trees!) But It would be great if you walked in with a Kettle and just plugged it in and sat there waiting for it to boil not saying a word! Coolness I didn't realise that you were into spying on guy-on-guy action
Slaggis Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I know (I'm spying on them from the trees!) But It would be great if you walked in with a Kettle and just plugged it in and sat there waiting for it to boil not saying a word! Haha! That would be amazing(ly perverted). The mental image of that is brilliant.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Hehe, I've almost finished the biography and am now going back to add a couple of words here and there to the main body of text. I think it's looking a little light, so will be adding up to another 1000 words by tomorrow evening. New to do list: Completely organise bibliography - 90% and counting Continue to proof reading Add more words in the findings Add more words in my methodology Put appendices into the main document Proof read the lot - ongoing Create basic consent form Ok, so far...I've done very little today, although I am going to be working on it tonight. I've created the consent form. Ashley has proof read the lot, so I'm going to make some changes. Putting the appendices into the main document, which I don't think will take too long. And tonight will finish that bibliography. Should be all done hopefully by tomorrow morning.
Ashley Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Ooh bluey I raise you hearing them having sex and a shower to hearing them having sex, now watching porn (im not sure why that order unless they're planning to go at it again...) and no doubt they'll take a shower after to wash away the sin. This is one of those times when I wished I had huge speakers. Or was as perverted as Haggis and find this arousing. p.s. I proof read it twice. That's twice the amount of awesomeness :p (and also two reasons I have only just started working on mine ^_^)
