Star Fox will no doubt make it to the Wii. When it does, what do you want to see? Type of game? Size? Gameplay elements?

---

I would love an on-rails shooter like Lylat Wars 64, with 3 or 4 systems each a similar size/length to 64 (and, once unlocked, can be played individually).

It should take elements from the short-but-sweet Star Fox 2, like chosing your character/wingmen (each with different ship designs and stats), and the ability to transform into the landmaster at will.

I think the following controls would suit the game:

Nunchuck: Move Up/Down/Left/Right

Analogue Stick: Accelerate/Brake

Pointer: Aim (would add something new to the game, like a point & shoot lightgun game, but with the position of your ship to also worry about)

Flip Remote Left/Right: Barrel Rolls (would ruin your aim with the pointer, but spinning around like that would anyway, losing your aiming position would be a tactical disadvantage to barrel rolls)

Flip Remote Up: Loop

A: lasers

B: Bomb

D-pad down: Transform to/from tank

+: Pause

What are your thoughts/ideas...Star Fox could fit a lot of different game styles.

I want all out war!!!

I mean it, I want huge Star Wars-like battles, on land, on water and in the sky, I also want the Arwing to be faster and easier to control, the on foot sections need to be fixed or removed and throw in some on-rails levels because they're normally pretty good and it will please the fan-girls.

Online is must, I'm sure you can all imagine how good it could be for yourselves.

Of course though Star Fox is always a let down these days and my wishes will probably never be answered.

I'm confused by those controls. I don't really see how movement would work using the nunchuk sensor. Hmm. Is it sensitive enough?

I say keep the analogue stick for movement, and use the nunchuk's sensor for things like barrel rolls. Tilting the controller left will cause the craft to tilt either left or right, perfect for dodging or squeezing through tight gaps.

As for the Wiimote, you could use the aiming for its obvious use, which is to aim at enemies.

I think online is a strong possibility, especially since the Starfox game for DS is also online.

Online co-op play. Be nice to fly in squadron of international gamers attempting to destroy an Andross cruiser or something.

Talking smack with voice chat, that has authetic radio crackle.

Customize and personalise your ship with logo and name.

I feel the need... the need to go watch Top Gun.

If it has huge online multiplayer (32 players online), then this could be a fantastic game for the more 'hardcore' gamers.

The ability to truly kill Slippy rather than just down his Arwing would be nice.

Get rid of the voice acting and bring back the original dialogue sounds (Animal X'ing styley), Imho that always sounded better.

Add in an updated of the 'Independance day' level from Lilet Wars, because it was one of the bestest levels ever and also add in some online co-op to it.

Lylat Wars but huger. I got an idea for co-op too. One player is arwing, the other Landmaster or Submarine. They provide support for each other and stuff. Could also drop/send each other items. Rogue Squadron IV graphics would also be sweet. Oooo and bring back the ball laser from Starwing with the original sound effect. The effect in Starfox: Tactical Assault dissapointed me cuz I loved the old one so much.

Something similar to BWii would be great.

ya that's what i mean too. i don't want another on-rails shooter. CMON people we need something different. Star fox ds sucked ass. Just because namco and rare made an arse new ideas doesn't mean it can't work

More like Lylat Wars, no land missions except for in landmaster tank. Online Co Op mode as well as free for all and time attack (shoot the most down within timelimit) games.

Controls:

Hold controller sideways (like excite truck),

tilt forwards to go down,

backwards to go up,

sideways for either left or right.

2 to shoot,

press up for somasault,

press down for u-turn,

double tap 1 for barrel roll...

damn forgot about brake/boost.. suppose left for brake and right for boost (maybe an option to change which direction button does what move). I think that's everything.

To hell with the on-foot sections, and yes to the linear levels. Free-range mode gets irritating if used too much (I'm looking at YOU, SF Command:angry: ), and the strategy element really isn't needed.

Lylat wars style Wii edition, please guys, and get retro studios on the game. If they can work wonders on a 3D metroid, they sure as heck can manage this.

Agree with a few others - LylatWars with aiming, Analogue Stick for movement, lots of vehicle choices and HUGE battles with lots of enemies on a large scale.

Oh and intricate, massive, power consuming, hardward pushing boss battles.

Basically make it epic.

It should have lots of on-rails levels - it adds a certain arcade element to it that also suited Excite Truck fine and was actually the reason for the replay value.

Also mulitple paths would be very sweet and they should bring back the Starfox Team as it used to be or give Peppy on the Great Fox a more prominent role.

I also feel the latest versions had a bit a childish feeling to it. I mean they probably are the most elite mercenaries in the whole Lylat System and that really shone (shined???) through in LylatWars but especially Assault felt like they were just youngsters on a funny quest to save the Galaxy. I didn't like that feeling.

Some ground levels would also be nice and I'd like to see the Submarine return.

And they shouldn't update the Arwing model with extra stuff like in Assault. It can't get any better.

The on foot Missions could stay actually. If the controls were better and the enemies a bit more intelligent but in fewer numbers it could actually be quite fun. But they should be free roaming and the other teammember should have a decent enough AI. Yes I want the whole team around me during on foot sections.

Oh and they should bring in/back a cool enemy that doesn't spawn in vast numbers.

Edit: And the control in the Arwing sections should work with the nun-chuck alone. Stick to control arwing. Move sideways for barrel-roll, move forward to boost and backwards to break. C for Bombs and Z for Laser.

The control scheme should be like excite truck where you hold the controller sideways. Flick for barrel roll, tilt down for down, tilt up for up, 2 for lasers, 1 for bombs. D pad for boost and slowing down. Free-range mode then you hold the wiimote like a remote and go nuts!

Multiplayer you can do the wingman thing, where wiimote as remote is in freerange mode and someone else holds the numchuk and shoots people!

Online at least 4-5 times longer than the 64 version and split screen multiplayer and strictly NO ON FOOT!

Something like this?

I want it to be similar to Lylat Wars (the best in the series) and perhaps even lose the landmaster for this one, just have on-rails arwing levels as those are by far the best!

I was just thinking about controls there and thought (very roughly):

Analogue Stick- Move Arwing

Nunchuck- Rotate arwing/Barrel Roll

C- Boost

Z- Brake

Remote- Aim shots independently from Arwing movement

A- Bomb

B- Fire

D-Pad- ..maybe.. give instructions to the rest of the team.. like tell Slippy to fly directly towards the ground to a horrible horrible death?

Those are just off the top of my head.. and probably suck!
