Slaggis Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) Mika - We Are Golden I love this so damn much! Never expected to like it as much as I do. The video's done by the same guy that did Lady GaGa's Paparazzi. Edited July 30, 2009 by Slaggis
Roostophe Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Mastodon just came on the radio. How odd. Uh...which song? I'm a bit curious...
Nolan Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Been listening to Violent Femmes as of late. Blister in the Sun(beginning is a bit of Grosse Point, middle is something odd and end is more of the movie) Audio Country Death Song Audio American Music(Only live version for some reason) Audio Gone Daddy Gone(Again only live, and not very well done...) Audio Waiting for the Bus(Demo, not as good) Audio 36-24-36 Audio Dance Motherf***** Dance (you now know 75% of the lyrics) Audio Out the Window(Live) Audio I'll quit linking to them now, Only because I can't find America Is
Ashley Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Mika - We Are Golden I love this so damn much! Never expected to like it as much as I do. The video's done by the same guy that did Lady GaGa's Paparazzi. Hmmm thats already in a harmless upbeaty summery kind of song. About time he came out though I love this song, such a easy going jazzish kinda thing; Audio
Dan_Dare Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Recently I've been listening to Fever Ray - Triangle Walks (Rex the Dog Remix) I found it on my iPod and had no idea I had it. stupendous. ===== So! Au Revoir Simone Lovely stuff. Blissful, gorgeously ambient indie electro musings from Brooklyn. Check em out.
drahkon Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Tool - Vicarious Audio Tool - Schism to Tool. Thanks to them I got into the Rock/Progressive/Metal genre. I watched the video of Schism when it was released back in 2001 and I was amazed.
Slaggis Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Hmmm thats already in a harmless upbeaty summery kind of song. About time he came out though I know! I loathe his "Who needs labels" stance on it. Still, an amazingly feel good song.
ipaul Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) Think I'll join in with all the Muse banta United States sounds alright but completely passable, the kind of song that comes on the radio and is enjoyable enough but is incredibly unremarkable and would soon fade out of memory. Uprising on the other hand (so far) is different. If it continues the way I think it might then it may well end up becoming my most hated Muse song, flying past Starlight with it's sheer banality. Oh Muse. You used to be so so good. I even love Take A Bow from BH&R but this new stuff.....ergh :S Oh btw Dan Dare, my first gig was also Muse Anybody love any music from TV opening sequences? Because I just can't get this out of my head recently... I love that show so much. I really must watch all 5 series. Edited July 31, 2009 by ipaul
Ashley Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 T'is a good song that one, very fitting to the show the way it flitters between liveliness and almost still silence. As far as TV intros. Well of course Veronica Mars, both the original and remixed sexual third season one: (lol at the voiceover at the end) I really love Dexter intro but I know a lot of people say it goes on too long. And of course the Big Love intro, which is pretty much perfection; (cut off at the end, annoying) Although both of those are actual songs...
Mr_Odwin Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 (cut off at the end, annoying) Although both of those are actual songs... I love that Beach Boys' song. So ... yeah, I agree.
Dyson Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Tool are wank. Saw Hadouken! on Wendesday and they were fantastic despite only playing an hour set - which we all agreed was the perfect amount of time for this sort of thing anyway. Any more and we'd have been shattered. Great stuff though, played the anthems and some brand new stuff for the first time
Slaggis Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) Madonna - Celebration The intro reminded me of the annoying twatface that is Calvin Harris. Still, not sure what to think at the moment. Edit: It's growing on me, fast. Edit 2: AMAZING. I cannot wait to hear this in a club! Eva Simons - Silly Boy Have no idea if she can actually sing, considering it's all so computerised. But still, I love it. The way her record company "leaked" an early version of it saying it was for GaGa was extremely clever considering how much hype it got. Sugababes - Get Sexy I hate how infectious the chorus is, considering the songs kind of abysmal. Though saying that, if it came on in a club when I was drunk, I can imagine loving it to death. Definite guilty pleasure. I loathe the Amerie woman though. Just the way she looks annoys me, an I can't put my finger on it as to why. Agnes - On & On I loved Release Me to death, and this is quickly growing on me too. Absolutely killer chorus. Edited August 1, 2009 by Slaggis
Jon Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I'm sorry but every TV theme pales in comparison to this.
Platty Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 So who remembers the Sundays? I been listening to them a lot recently, don't know why... you may remember "here's where the story ends" probably their biggest hit. You may also remember that they done an amazing cover of the stones classic wild horses. Now I seriously cannot stop listening to this song right now. Her voice is just wow on it...Buffy fans may recoignise it...But yeah I love the original stones version but her voice just adds something more to the song... Give it a listen if you haven't heard it before Audio
Ashley Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I do love Wild Horses, however melodramatic it may be. Wonderful stuff. I defy anyone to listen to this song and not feel happy :p Yeah I've posted it before but its so full of joy. Also, does anyone else here listen to Motion City Soundtrack other than Jayseven?
Gizmo Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 So who remembers the Sundays? I been listening to them a lot recently, don't know why... I haven't listened to the music I just want to make a funny. I'm guessing their music lies somewhere inbetween the Saturdays and the Happy Mondays? LOLOLOLOLsorry
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Tool are wank. Saw Hadouken! on Wendesday and they were fantastic Something, somewhere has gone horribly wrong.
dan-likes-trees Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Also, does anyone else here listen to Motion City Soundtrack other than Jayseven? Oh! Oh! Pick me!! Big fan of Commit This to Memory, even if it does feature the incredibly emo sounding song title 'Let's Get Fucked Up and Die'. The acoustic version of Fell In Love Without You (which I may or may not have found from gossip girl) is worth checking out too. In other news, went to see Simian Mobile Disco as part of the itunes festival on wednesday. Fuck me it was good, AND it it was free!! Megawinz. Got horribly drunk and sweaty. ect

And the title is LGFUAD obviously :p I always associate it with being in a state of such emotional dissaray that drinking until you're passed out is the best method...personally. I also love the lyric "lets fight crime with mangos and limes". So random.
Gizmo Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Brand New's new album is called "Daisy" Theres a 30 second preview of the new single here
Coolness Bears Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I believe it is time to cast our minds back to 1995 for some ethno-introspective ambient world music from the likes of... Deep Forest - Deep Folk Song Extremely cheeky music.
Dyson Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 UPRISING! The paranoia is in bloom, the PR The transmissions will resume They'll try to push drugs Keep us all dumbed down and hope that We will never see the truth around (So come on) Another promise, another scene, another A package not to keep us trapped in greed With all the green belts wrapped around our minds ...and endless red tape to keep the truth confined (So come on) They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Interchanging mind-control come let the Revolution take its toll if you could Flick the switch and open your third eye, you'd see that We should never be afraid to die (So come on) Rise up and take the power back, it's time that The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that Their time is coming to an end, we have to Unify and watch our flag ascend (So come on) They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious (So come on) (Oi) x3 (Oi) x4 (Oi) x4 They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious (So come on) (Oi) x4
CoolFunkMan Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) A bit dumbed down for a Muse song, but fucking fucking awesome!!!!! Already better than Black Holes and Revelations!! And the synth in the chorus sounds like Bliss! Edited August 3, 2009 by CoolFunkMan
