Konfucius Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 V for Vendetta and Casino Royale were my two highlights of this cinema year.
Meik Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Casino Royale, only movie this year I actually wanted to watch again.
darksnowman Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Not out this year but I just watched it last week - The Life Aquatic. A jolly good film with a star studded cast Cinema-wise what about Mission Impossible 3? X-Men 3 and Superman Returns? Very decent efforts. Ice Age was good, but maybe not great. Bond would not get my vote : peace:
Solo Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Just so everybody is clear, V for Vendetta was out last year (2005) and sucked noodles compared to the original comic book. Last year. I'm afraid my cinema ticket says 19/03/06. I haven't read the graphic novel but I thought as a film, it was pretty darn good.
KKOB Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Casino Royale and Devil Wears Prada-the two films this year i have seen multiple times and are well worth getting on DVD ASAP.
That dude Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Casino Royale then Borat. But the year isn't over, Eragon is out on friday, I loved the book.
Charlie Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Either Casino Royale or... Cars. Borat gets an honourable mention. Was the 50 Cent film this year? I saw it and it was absolutely terrible (my friends wanted to see it, I was out voted).
That dude Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Woh. Cars looks, wow! but sounds bad (like script)
Indigo Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 It's got to be Munich. I went to see it with a good friend; didn't say a word for two minutes after we left the cinema. Very powerful, and certainly underrated, muchlike many of Spielberg's recent films. Casino Royale and Walk the Line were also excellent.
McPhee Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 V for vendetta was last year, oh, and thanks for reminding me, my vote goes to Pirates of the Caribbean instead . Just so everybody is clear, V for Vendetta was out last year (2005) and sucked noodles compared to the original comic book. Last year. Really? Could have sworn it was this year? The film's release was originally scheduled for Friday, November 4, 2005 (a day before the 400th Guy Fawkes Night), but was delayed; it opened on March 17, 2006
AshMat Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Snakes on a mutherfucking plane. Egh, when's the DVD for this? Also, Casino Royale.
Zygo Ape Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Jarhead, honestly ive never been in love with a film this much before. Its just incredible. I wrote my coursework on it and got an "A"grade. This was veeeerrry early 06 btw Other than that, POD was brilliant
Bluejay Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Not out this year but I just watched it last week - The Life Aquatic. A jolly good film with a star studded cast Cinema-wise what about Mission Impossible 3? X-Men 3 and Superman Returns? Two of those three really sucked. Or just for me? Superman was excellent up to the ending though.
Ashley Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Snakes on a mutherfucking plane. Egh, when's the DVD for this? Boxing Day. Think I've seen like three films at the cinema this year; Pulse, Derailed and im sure theres something else. None of them were much good.
Dan_Dare Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Actually, I Just remembered United 93 was out this year. By far and away the best film I've seen in a very, very ,long time. It knocked the wind out of me. Truly remarkable work.
Samdecahedron Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Number one has to be jackass 2, i just can't get enough of those guys. Number 2 is Casino Royale, then number 3 is Borat.
Whizkid Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I think the best film of 2006 has go to be v for vendetta
Daft Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I saw this awesome film about Capote in the British Film Festival called 'Infamous' and Danial Craig is also in it! lol! Really good film, go see it when it is on general release...I didn't see that other Capote film so I can't compare, but this film was funny and moving!
Haver Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Marie Antoinette, Children of Men, A Scanner Darkly, The Departed annnnnnd Supey Returns.
Platty Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Children of Men. Children of Men is a great film. Loved the whole concept. I also have to say Casino Royale.
shaq365 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I've seen a lot of great films this year but I've recently enjoyed Pan's Labyrinth and The Prestige.
