Very excited!

Looks nice. I like Shark Dude

Looks like I was wrong about the Spiderman PC port... It's actually very very solid! And it does indeed retain its PS5 enhancements, even on low to medium settings! Runs fantastically well on the Steam Deck too. Very nice to see! Now. If only we could start getting some Playstation 1st Party ports that I actually give a damn about... (Can I has God of War 1-3 on PC/Steam Deck plz?)

Speaking of incredibly late deliveries... More toys = More fun! This was supposed to originally be shipped by Strictly Limited Games all the way back in bloody May! And was released in Japan all the way back in March! It's an absolute joke! Now. SLG have said that they have fixed the charging/input lag problem that plagued the original Japanese release; so I'll have to give it a try with various chargers (including my portable charging brick) to put that to the test. If that's the case? Then I can forgive them for the huge delay. Haven't really tried it yet, but I had a quick look at the included Arcade Strategy Book and it looks very nice; very professionally done. The paddle controller also feels fantastic; and that's before even turning the Egret 2 mini on! (I hear that smart people are currently getting it working with the MiSTer as well, so that's very well timed for me too! ) Impressions to follow!

Wow! That's super cool! And he's doing it on his own dime as a non-profit venture too. I love game dev channels like this! Props to Nintendo for allowing him to use their assets and show internal development documentation too! Mr Sakurai? You have earned yourself a sub

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that being able to replace worn out analog sticks (which you shouldn't have to do in the first place) is being touted as a premium feature here? Talk about a band-aid solution!

Nintendo Treehouse Live (25th August 2022 @ 17:30 BST)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well, I mean, someone has to market Harvestella I suppose. S-E can't be arsed, soooo... -
So my GBHD Advance finally arrived! After more than 3 months of waiting!! Wireless Switch NSO SNES controller works a treat! This is a new version of the GBA Consolizer that takes real GBA hardware, hacks it up and turns it into a console that outputs in native 720p over HDMI. Also features a SNES controller port (that does indeed work with the 8bit-do SNES Wireless adapter as pictured above), USB-C for power and the original GB/GBA link cable port. Looks and plays fantastic! Way better than the GCN GB Player! Now... if only that damn Mister Multisystem would finally come back in stock already... My DE10 Nano is looking real lonely... Edit: HOLY SHIT! I just snapped a Mister Multisystem up from eBay!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Should be coming in the next few days! Can't wait!

Can't help but feel that this isn't the wisest of release dates... but hey! What do I know? Also, there's some twisted irony in this game releasing on the same day as Ubisoft's Skull and Bones; another long-standing failed and tormented project that is being sent out to die...

That's not that strange. The gaps inbetween 3D Zelda releases has only been getting longer over time. What is strange is that this has happened with a game that was supposed to be a quick asset-reuse sequel! (ALA Majora's Mask & Spirit Tracks). I've already beaten this horse to death at this point, but it does make you wonder if/what went wrong with this game's development (and no, COVID is not the answer).

Mega Drive Mini 2 announced (Includes SEGA CD games!!)
Dcubed replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I’m not angry, I’m just sad… and also angry. That’s a huge blow. Even though we’re finally getting Shining Force CD and Crusader of Centy? The lack of English Lunar 1&2 and Popful Mail really hurts. Also, no Snatcher? Really!? The damn thing was already included on the TG16 Mini in Japanese! Come the fuck on SEGA/Konami!!! -
That was a great night for me! The highlights… Thanks for the games guys

I do agree that right stick to dodge isn't particularily great. It works, but it doesn't feel especially good. The PSP games changed this to having you hold down the L&R buttons while pushing the left stick to dodge and it actually feels much better than the original PS2 control scheme! A great example of how less can sometimes be more (much like how the GBA Metroid games ended up improving dramatically on the control scheme from Super Metroid, despite/because of the loss of the X/Y face buttons).

They've actually bought even more than that... the full list of what they've bought today includes Bitwave Games, Gioteck, Limited Run Games, Middle-earth Enterprises (All rights to LOTR & The Hobbit except the original books; including games, movies, board games, TV etc), Singtrix, Tatsujin (Who own Toaplan's entire back catalogue), Tripwire Interactive, and Tuxedo Labs. They've also bought another company that they're not announcing today "Their 4th largest acquisition thus far", and have set up a new division called Embracer Freemode that will be focused on Retro games and Collectable items, as well as e-commerce and "community" operations (Presumably this is where Limited Run Games and Tatsujin fit in). At the very least, the purchase of Tatsujin is actually some good news. Means that they actually now finally have stable capital backing, and another studio that will not only help get their back catalogue re-released on modern platforms, but even help them to revive the Toaplan name with brand new shmups! I'd bloody hope so. Can't be much worse than how they are right now!

3DS and Wii U eShop purchases to end March 2023
Dcubed replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Very much agreed. We really lost something special when Switch replaced the Wii U. You can even see it in the games that were moved from Wii U to Switch, like Luigi's Mansion 3... What would've been an incredibly obvious Gamepad stand-in if I ever saw one I miss all the cool second screen/touch screen features we used to have. Switch has had one of the most conservative first party game lineups in all of Nintendo's history (barring a few major exceptions like Ring Fit Adventure, ARMS and Nintendo Labo) and the gaming landscape is all the sadder for it. I really hope that Switch 2 brings back some of these "crazy" features. Even if they're only optional. -
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Saw this online... Handy venn diagram of what N64 games have and haven't previously been re-released. Should give you some idea of what to expect over the coming months. -
Glad you enjoyed it @Julius. It's a very solid game. Not perfect by any means, but definitely a good time (and yes, I agree with you about the music. It's fine, but there's nothing there that I'd want to stick in my music library and listen to on my phone). Did you check out the museum you unlock after beating the game? It's really cool and shows off some beta models & enemy concepts that were scrapped! Really neat! Wish more games did stuff like this

Wiki’s list of Nintendo published products handily lists eShop exclusives separate from retail products… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_products -
Here are the highlights that I didn’t get round to posting last night… The last one is the best. Pure beauty in motion

3DS and Wii U eShop purchases to end March 2023
Dcubed replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
That’s awesome! Nice work BTW, worth keeping in mind that you can also download game updates/patches for any game on 3DS, even if you don’t actually own the game itself! If you have the SD Card space to spare, you can grab them by typing in “update” into the search bar on the eShop. -
Profound sadness

Mega Drive Mini 2 announced (Includes SEGA CD games!!)
Dcubed replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Next batch of games just got announced... Nice. -
Soo... a card minigame and a couple of extra moves... that's it? That's all that's new apart from the 5 new stages? Only two new weapon types? Well, that and the time-limited Tri-colour Splatfest (that's the only remotely interesting new feature). Wow... it's even more disappointing than I expected!

Heads up, there’s a demo coming out tomorrow… err well… today… err… night shifts make things confusing, ok!? https://www.resetera.com/threads/the-diofield-chronicle-demo-thread-press-impressions-today-public-demo-aug-10th-first-full-chapter-progress-carries-to-full-release.617544/
