It's a bit cheeky of him to say that they need to continue with M&A in such an aggressive market when they were the ones who instigated The Great Industry Consolidation to begin with. But yes, water is wet. As soon as the Acti-Blizz purchase is approved and completed, they're gonna go right back to gobbling up the rest of the industry.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Very nice. Alisia Dragoon is a nice get. Wonder if we'll eventually see the games from the Mega Drive Mini 2 make their way to the NSO service... -
Suikoden I & II HD (PS4, Switch, Xbox, PC - 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
Half of it looks good, the other half looks like a cheap RPG maker game... Not sure how to feel about the glossing up here Still, it's nice to see that Konami remembered that Suikoden exists Though this thread needs to be moved to the Nintendo Gaming section of the forum since it's also coming to Switch. -
Yeah, Japanese devs are kind of stuck if they refuse to make Switch versions of their games and want to maintain any semblance of domestic sales. The really frightning thing isn't even the PS5's hardware sales (which are still behind Wii U launch-alligned), it's the software attach rate. I believe it's around 0.3 games per hardware purchase right now... Meaning that at least 2/3's of all PS5 consoles are being sold to scalpers and flipped to be resold overseas! So the real PS5 userbase is actually just a fraction of its hardware sales!

Good stuff. Here’s my highlights… Fun as always!

Really weird that they’ve suddenly decided to drop the Yakuza branding… can’t say that Like A Dragon really rolls off the tongue well in English as a title

“Breath of the Wild” is a clear reference to the switch to open-air/survival gameplay. “Tears of the Kingdom” means… err… dropping down from the sky maybe? It’s not a very Zelda-esc title. The only Zelda games whose names have no real gameplay related meaning are Adventure of Link and Link’s Awakening, so it’s pretty out of line with the rest of the series. It’s almost like one of those fan-made fake titles.

Full length trailer.

Can’t say that I see the gameplay connection here… Zelda subtitles are almost always linked to a key gameplay mechanic… but that doesn’t seem to be the case here?

Octopath Traveler II (Switch, PS4/5, PC - 24th Feb 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Interesting that the 8 base jobs remain the same as the original. Figured they’d change it up. Anyway, game looks amazing! So glad that this game finally exists; it was announced like 3-4 years ago! -
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe (24th Feb 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
YES!!! The best Kirby game gets sweet treatment! GIMME! Cant wait to hear what they do with C.R.O.W.N.E.D -
Wow! Koei-Tecmo isn’t involved? That’s a shocker! And it… actually looks like a real Fire Emblem game and not a dating simulator with some SRPG action on the side? Well fuck me sideways! I might well actually be interested in a Fire Emblem game again!

Tales of Symphonia Remastered (Switch, PS4, Xbox - 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It DID used to look better than this. All of the HD versions are based on the inferior PS2 port (which runs at half the frame rate of the GCN original and features downgraded visuals). The extra content isn’t worth it when the core gameplay is worse than the 60FPS GCN original. -
Tales of Symphonia Remastered (Switch, PS4, Xbox - 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
30FPS = No buy. Simple as that. If you can’t make it play as good as the GCN original, then don’t fucking bother Namco. -

That minigame scarred me so much that I literally made a Flipnote about it back in the day! https://archive.sudomemo.net/watch/mgjwy5rakwmymqc53apwrvubjien -

Nintendo just popped off. They ain’t fucking around with the N64 lineup! -
Miyamoto is a liar. This game does not exist. I refuse to believe it’s real.

@Glen-i. We made this happen! Told you that playing All Star Carnival was a good idea!! Fingers crossed that S-E release a replica Arcade Controller here… All Star Carnival’s control scheme is mad fun, and FBR’s gameplay is clearly based off of it

Sony are itching for a fight with the Ninty Direct it seems! I’m up for a belated E3 today! Though sadly I can’t watch either event live, so I’ll just have to watch them when I get home tonight instead

Dcubed replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Worth noting that both games got a Wii U VC release. I wouldn’t count on a remake coming soon. -

Very interesting… so it seems that’s where the rumour came from then. Wonder if that means that the other rumours are also true then… -

LET’S FUCKING GO!!!! -
I can understand preferring Strikers Charged over Battle League, but the Gamecube original? No freaking way. That game is so utterly basic in comparison to both of its sequels that you're actively trolling if you say it's better than Battle League. That or you have nostalgia glasses so fogged that they're giving you cataracts.
