  1. Yeah, I instantly thought of Nintendogs + Cats when I watched those videos! VR versions when Nintendo? I’d be surprised if there wasn’t at least a nod towards Mario Paint in the doodling minigame; but if not? Then I’m sure that SMM2 will be absolutely loaded with them! SMM was basically a Mario Paint game anyway
  2. I haven't used PSVR, but I have used HTC Vive (the super duper high end one), Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2/CV1. Labo VR is certainly nowhere near as sharp as the HTC Vive, but I thought it looked a lot better than the DK1 and not too far off of the DK2/CV1 really (which is the same resolution as the PS VR). The big difference for me though between the fidelity of the DK2/CV1 and the Labo VR though is not really the resolution; its the use of OLED and its high refresh rate. You don't get any of the smearing and after-images with proper headsets that you get with Labo VR and it feels a lot better to move your head around as a result than with Labo. That being said though, the wires are a nuisance. I do really like the fact that Labo is totally self-contained and wireless and you'll miss that with proper headset setups. The motion tracking is a lot more robust with those headsets though; since you have external tracking devices that can detect your position in 3D space, there's just a lot more you can do. You can actually move your head back and forth and move around the room; and of course the same is true of their motion controllers. Labo VR is obviously limited in nature and in what you can do in terms of gameplay, but the general experience is surprisingly not that far off! I reckon that with some smart design, you could get some very comparable experiences (and I'm sure I'll see some of that when I eventually build the other Toy-Cons - I know that the Elephant one basically gives the Joy-Cons 6DOF motion tracking; which would make more complex experiences possible!) I'm not really big on VR as a whole (its just cumbersome in general), but I just found Labo VR to be a lot better than I was expectng really. And the Joy-cons do a better job than I was expecting, given the limitations of 3DOF. While Labo VR certainly can't compare to "real" VR headsets, I'd certainly like to see Nintendo think about putting in a 1080p OLED screen into the Switch Pro to improve the VR experience further! I'd also like to see them put out an official strap as well (Which I think they'll do. Those washers on the left and right of the headset are surely meant for a strap!? And selling the strap seperately, like the Labo Customisation Kit, would also allow them to get around the age rating restrictions that would otherwise have had to make Labo VR for ages 12 and up). Also I totally agree. I was saying as much to @Glen-i that the whole package gives me huge Wario Ware vibes! Right down to the font choices! Those videos were also horrifying awesome in how much they evoked the feel of Wario Ware too (And that VB tease is so aggrovating!! They know how much people want to see them re-released )
  3. Not gonna lie... I'd buy the crap out of Super Mario Tax Evasion...
  4. So I finally had a chance to give it an actual go this time... I’m actually quite impressed by the image quality! It looks a lot better than I thought it would! There isn’t a huge screen door effect like I feared there would be; but there is quite a bit of motion smearing when you move your head around (no doubt thanks to the use of an LCD display). Bit unfortunate, but not a deal breaker really, since it really looks fine when you’re not rapidly moving your head around. Don't go in expecting anything that's gonna rival a HTC Vive, or even a PSVR, but it definitely looks better than the Oculus DK1! Speaking of which, I’m VERY impressed with the head tracking! I’ve not had it drift off and lose calibration at all so far! It’s surprisingly good! It’s also pretty comfortable to use too. I actually don’t really feel a huge need for a strap outside of games that use two separated joy-cons! The fact that it's completely wireless is a big plus as well. I’ve only tried the tennis minigame so far, but I think the thing I’ve been most impressed by is the HD rumble! It’s sick!! You can actually throw the ball in the air, have it land on the side of the racket, roll it around and you can feel EXACTLY where the ball is on the racket!! It’s insanely good!!! It’s the most mind blowing thing I’ve seen since Ball Count in 1,2,Switch! It’s nutso!
  5. So mine arrived today... first impressions?
  6. These are actually pretty good! They're the kinds of descriptions you'd actually expect in-game, someone has put a lot of time and effort into this!
  7. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/hands-on-preview/50255/bloodstained-is-a-terrible-night-to-have-a-cursed-port Sadly it looks like the Switch version is a broken mess... ... might be time to consider getting the game on other platforms instead
  8. Fucking dickbags! Fuck them so hard! That's absolutely despicable! Absolutely unacceptable practice!
  9. Why the bloody hell Codemasters didn’t release their new Micro Machines game on Switch is absolutely beyond me... It has native 8 player support per-console FFS!! Stupid, stupid, stupid!
  10. Oh I do hope that "Bioware Magic" becomes a new running gag going forward! I bloody howled like a hyena when he put up the animation!
  11. Dahym! That's a great list! Nice to know that some people around here have taste!
  12. It's more than just a nod... All of Furi's characters were designed by Takashi Okazaki... the original creator of Afro Samurai!
  13. Looks good! Here's hoping that it scratches that Burnout itch!
  14. Well that's poo... Hope they don't end up pulling this with DOOM Eternal...
  15. Furi is awesome! Don't listen to @Sméagol, he has terrible taste!
  16. Could just use some elastic band to tape the screen to your head... Hey! Labo is about creativity here!
  17. Bit disappointed that SMO is just a small portion of the game, but I suppose it means that they were able to make an actual VR talored experience. Zelda seems to just be the existing game in S3D as it is (just like on 3DS - it's basically exactly the same as OoT3D and MM3D); which I'm very cool with! I've been wanting my S3D back ever since the Switch came out, so I'd be very happy for the rest of the Switch's library to get the same treatment! Now, can we have MK8DX VR and my ARMS Robot kit/VR kit Labo monstrosity already Nintendo!?
  18. Dammit Nintendo! Wrong games!! It was supposed to be Mario Kart 8 and ARMS you fools!
  19. Horrible luck all night for me! (Must be the VB giving me headaches...) At least I managed to keep one N-E League tradition going!
  20. It's basically the same thing as Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy. It's a standalone DLC story, sold as a separate release.
  21. The dataminers aren't really looking into 3rd party games though... They're only focusing on Nintendo's own first party titles... where Labo support wouldn't be in place yet anyway! Plus, even if they had already seen VR support in place; they might have just shrugged it off as a hold-over from the code currently used on other VR platforms... I could definitely see them missing it! Bugger... forgot about that... Still, there's nothing stopping someone from just adding on a strap... It IS supposed to be custom built after all! Hell, the VR kit might even include a strap for all we know! But yeah! Switch's greatest strength is absolutely its versatility! Always has been since day 1; and Labo is the ultimate embodiment of that concept really! (With VR being the next step; and a true testament to just how versatile the Switch concept is!) You know what I really want though? + + DO IT NINTENDO!!
  22. BTW. Was just chatting with someone and came up with an idea regarding Labo VR... ... what if VR support is actually already present in Switch games and we just don't know about it yet... Given that 3rd parties already have access to Labo support (Deemo officially supports the Labo Piano now) and that VR support has been baked into the Switch OS since the very beginning... and given that many indie titles already have VR modes on other platforms (like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes); I can absolutely imagine that the support is already baked in and ready to go...It's the kind of thing I could see Nintendo shadow dropping in a conveniently timed Nintendo Direct... ("Oh, BTW, Labo VR is now supported by ALL of these games that you can buy on the eShop RIGHT NOW!") How cool would that be?! Announce that alongside Labo VR support in titles like MK8DX, Yoshi's Crafted World and ARMS and boom!
  23. I liked Tazmania on SNES... ... what? Don't look at me that way!
