@Dcubed @Vileplume2000 @RedShell @Vanilla @Tim B @Ugh first aid and @Hero-of-Time Come on guys! Hop to it! We want a fun article for the main site and we need YOU to write it for us! ... plus we can't have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game winning the coveted title! Only YOU can stop it from happening! -
At least I got something good out of tonight...

MY AVERAGE!!!!

Ahh!! I forgot that Three Houses launches on the same day!! Crud... Its initial sales are probably buggered then Will probably do better in the long run on Switch though.
-
Oh wow! It's coming on the same day and date as the other versions!? FINALLY! Someone gives a shit! Such a welcome change of pace! Can't wait to see the sales comparisons. About time we finally got a fair comparison between Switch and other platforms with a western AAA title! If only other developers could give enough of a shit about Switch to do the same with their own games... Wishing Bethesda all of the success in the world with this! Well done you!

Agreed. MM3 is nowhere near as polished as MM2. Its rushed development does show in the final product. That being said, it does have some fab new ideas... as well as THAT boss rush at the end! Still one of the greatest end-game moments in gaming history! It's still one of the best in the series; but I'd take MM2 and MM9 over it any day. -
Yeah, you should be able to make some really good dual-type Djjin classes now. IIRC, the best end-game class for the Venus adepts was Chaos Lord (which combined Mars and Venus Djjin); so you should definitely experiment!

That's not what the article says... It says that the Switch Pro won't be as powerful as the PS4 Pro or the Xbox One X, which is not only a big DUH! but is also just a straight parroting of the WSJ article. In fact, that Eurogamer article says nothing new that the WSJ one didn't. 8GB of RAM is not far fetched at all. We already have phones that have 8GB of RAM now and the standard Tegra X2 uses 8GB of RAM. It's probably the most obvious upgrade that's coming our way. I do agree that 4K resolution is a stretch too far in most cases. I'd much rather see games aim for a consistent 1080p/60FPS first, but for the Switch games that already run at a consistent 1080p/60FPS? Resolutions above 1080p are very achieveable and a fair few might actually even hit native 4K (like Smash Bros Ultimate and most of the Wii U ports).

I honestly don't understand the point of a smartphone that you can't use with one hand. Unless everyone suddenly grew salad fingers, what's the point? Phones are supposed to be small and pocketable

I do like this idea! Never considered copying the SP approach! Would certainly be unexpected... and a great way of protecting the sticks that protrude from the unit to stop them from potentially snapping off in your pocket! Or you could just pop it in upside down... like you do with the current New3DS and its own charging dock!
-
I'm still rocking mine too! I was holding out hope that we'd get a new one announced yesterday... ... instead we got a credit card
-
Woah! That's way sooner than I expected!! April is looking RAD!
-
Oh no, I completely agree with you! Hell, that's the main reason why I mostly carry my 3DS out and about with me instead of my Switch! I'd absolutely love a Switch that I can actually fit in my pocket!! Just being able to throw my Switch in my pocket instead of needing a carry case for the console, that you then need to chuck into a bag as well, would be absolutely killer! If they could make a Switch Lite that was of a similar size to the original GBA (or even the Vita), that would be amazing and I'd buy one in a heartbeat! Though I'd probably buy a Switch Pro as well... someone help me!
-
Looks amazing! It just looks satisfying to punch someone! Looking forward to this!
-
If they use the same Joy-cons (which they will), then things like the Flip Grip will still work with a Switch Pro. I don't think we have anything to worry about there. I'm certain that the form factor will not be changing much for the Switch Pro. A Switch Lite will probably look quite different though... probably will look more like those GBA/PSP/Vita style fan mockups I reckon... I'll take an Atomic Purple one thank you very much!

Castlevania Bloodlines/The New Generation is the only 2D CV game I've not played yet! Was holding out hope for a VC release that never came sadly... Would be undoubtedly the first thing I'd play if I got a Mega SG!

Hi there. I filled out your survey for you. Best of luck to you with your project! -
Well it looks like they're going back to the simpler 2D backgrounds of the previous games, so that's a good sign that they're keeping to a reasonable scope for themselves this time... If that initial video clip of Shantae 5 is anything to go by, it looks like they might be ditching the 3D backgrounds... which should mean that they wont have to spend nearly as much time and money on the background visuals this time... which hopefully should mean that they'll be able to actually make a full game without gameplay compromises this time! @drahkon. HGH is actually unlike the rest of the games. Shantae 1-3 are Metroidvanias of the same vein as the Wonderboy/Monster World series; while HGH was supposed to be a more traditional Stage Clear style platformer; ala DKC. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but HGH was originally supposed to have a lot more levels and content than it ended up having. The game failed to hit most of its Kickstarter stretch goals; and it's very very obvious that they introduced all of the tedious backtracking to pad out the game's length (half of the game's transformations are just given to you, unlike the others that come at the end of levels; it's really obvious that they were originally supposed to have full levels of their own originally).

That's all we have to go off of, but I'm still Ret 2 Go anyway!

If the Switch Lite just has the same internal hardware as the current Switch; while the Switch Pro uses the existing Docked mode as the new Handheld mode; then support will basically be automatic. Only thing that devs would need to do would be to support the new Pro Docked mode. In that regard, it's no different from other Pro consoles; but it should be a lot easier in the Switch's case, since all of its games are already designed to support multiple specifications anyway. Switch games are already like PC/iOS/Android titles in that regard and are already not built to a fixed specification. This would just be the next extension of the possible spec targets and should be very easy to implement (just a flip of a few switches, no not that one, and some QA testing). It's possible that some developers might include "High res/4K texture packs" as downloads; but I doubt that many devs will include this on the game cards themselves, due to cost concerns. This is something that they're already doing on other consoles anyway though, so I suspect that they'd do the same here.

So... that's it? Nothing else? Why even bother if you've got nothing to really show
-
Wow! Even the video format is an absolute baldfaced ripoff of Nintendo Direct. It's not even remotely subtle
