  1. For me? It’s Kirby. The literal embodiment of happiness. Kirby is the ultimate cheery game series (well... until you get to the super grimdark ending sections of course! But you always overcome them eventually ). Even just listening to Kirby music alone never fails to lift my mood, even if only a little! @S.C.G. You know my door is always open if ever you need to chat to someone. Much love mate
  2. Excellent choices all round! They’re all great games! Which one are you gonna play first?
  3. Anyway! Here’s my amended list (poor Wario Land 2 got robbed!) Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Wario Land 3 Mario Golf The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
  4. It never actually released on PS3... That’s like saying that Starfox Adventures should be counted as an N64 game... ... that being said, the original cancelled N64 version looked way better than what we actually got.
  5. I agree, I told him that it should’ve counted as a GB game, but nope! He didn’t want to listen Twilight Princess is going to be counted as a GameCube game BTW. Likewise, Breath of the Wild is a Wii U title and NOT a Switch one.
  6. It was indeed (in fact, it was the last ever B&W GB game to be released); but there was a separate hybrid GBC version that was released on the same day; so @Glen-i counted this as a GBC game. Fun fact, I actually had the original B&W version growing up. Didn’t even know there was a GBC hybrid version till many years later!
  7. My nominations are as follows... Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Wario Land 2 Mario Golf The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages Wario Land 3
  8. https://www.siliconera.com/2019/05/10/sega-says-the-sega-ages-games-are-doing-better-than-expected-outside-of-japan/ Seems that the sales of the SEGA AGES games are doing well in the West, but poorly in Japan...
  9. https://www.resetera.com/threads/sega-mega-drive-mini-games-21-to-30-to-be-revealed-may-16th-from-19-30-hours-jst.116213/ We will find out about the next 10 games on May 16th!
  10. I don’t think they’ve mentioned any involvement from them with it. They also kinda threw shade at them when they announced Dragalia Lost; mentioning how their mobile future is no longer locked to the DeNA partnership.
  11. That’s surprising... It felt like Nintendo were done with DeNA after Super Mario Run and ACPC both flopped. Perhaps the partnership isn’t dead yet after all?
  12. Wow! It's actually alive!! And they're still advertising it for PS4!? Honestly shocked! Thought for absolute certain that we wouldn't see it resurface until the PS5 gets unveiled next year! Still don't expect the first part to hit for another 3-5 years at least though. The fact that they're still only showing off sections from the first couple of hours from the original game, even after all this time, speaks volumes about how far along this project really is. Also still not happy with the decision to drop the original RPG combat in favour of action gameplay. It has never been S-E's forte and I fully expect it to play like Kingdom Hearts, where it basically plays itself... I still can't help but feel that that decision is a huge mistake... At least the rest of the game looks on point though!
  13. Highlights!
  14. Likewise! I'm actually excited for a Microsoft conference to see what games get announced for a Nintendo console! What a time to be alive!
  15. Speak of the devil... https://e3.nintendo.com/ June 11th it is! Let's hope that Nintendo still have some cards left up their sleeve!
  16. Literally just came to post that @S.C.G! (15 hours late, but whatevs) It's amazingly well done! Wonder if they'll try to do the other Smash Bros intros next...
  17. Well I learnt something today! Cheers @bob!
  18. This is why games generally aren't really becoming cheaper, like you hear some people say. Half games, or unfinished games, are becoming cheaper. Literally unfinished in many cases. Early Access games are quickly becoming the norm; even amongst games that aren't advertised as such. Any game with a visible "roadmap" is clearly a game that isn't finished. Even Smash Bros Ultimate was released unfinished. Pirahna Plant was supposed to be in the game from the start (as evidenced by the fact that it is the only DLC character that has ever been released that has Palutena's Guidance to go along with it). Likewise, it's pretty clear that Stage Builder and the video editor was meant to be in there from the beginning, but wasn't ready in time. Likewise, Mario Tennis Aces even added additional story mode FMV cutscenes; clearly indicating that they released the game before it was finished (granted, this is a far better situation than the ridiculous BS they pulled with Ultra Smash. A game that was blatantly an early alpha version of what would eventually become Mario Tennis Aces). At least in those cases, they gave the content out for free. It's still poor form though, and it's a real shame that you can't just buy a cartridge with the full and complete game on it (unless Nintendo quietly released an updated reprint that I don't know about, like they used to do in the Wii era). Sadly this is becoming the norm. You're better off just waiting a year or so before playing new games, where you'll actually get a complete experience for less money.
  19. Err... Do we count the duck? Ducks are bipedal, right?
  20. Technically, aren't all simians bipedal? So that does indeed give Ivysaur that illustrious title (in fact, it's still the only quadruped in Smash!)
  21. Yeah, that's true as well. Reggie has always been a great E3 host; losing him is going to be a real bummer. I don't think Doug Bowser has much stage presence really; he's always come across as a bit of a wet blanket at E3 events. So I'm hoping that Bill Trinen ends up leading this year's E3 showcase myself; he's always been fantastic!
  22. I’m very conflicted about my feelings... On one hand, I’ve wanted a portable version of the DMC games since forever... On the other? This REALLY should be the original trilogy for £30 and Capcom are absolutely taking Switch owners for a ride... Help me!
  23. I'm not too excited either. Sony literally have nothing to show, while MS will likely be winding down support for the Xbone as well (only things I'm really interested in seeing are Battletoads and just what kind of support they'll be throwing Nintendo's way). As for Nintendo? I'm convinced that they've already blown their load during the last Direct and that they'll have nothing else really new to show at E3. I was expecting Link's Awakening to be their big E3 announcement (I already knew about it before it was announced), and there's nothing really to indicate that they've got anything hidden up their sleeve for E3 now. About the only thing that they could really have to announce is a new game from Retro (which is so ridiculously overdue that I actually think it ended up being quietly cancelled at this point); and Pikmin 3 Deluxe (which was supposed to be coming out in May originally from what I heard; so perhaps that's been pushed back to make for an E3 announcement?). I suppose Metroid Prime Trilogy HD is possible as well (it was supposed to release in February 2019 originally), but with Metroid Prime 4 being delayed until probably 2023? They might keep it in the Nintendo Vault for another couple of years... or perhaps they'll use it to fill in the E3 2019 gap? Who knows... The thing I'm most excited for is seeing Microsoft buddy up with Nintendo. Rare's titles coming back to Nintendo is a realistic possibility now and that is legit exciting! It's crazy to think that I'm excited to watch a Microsoft E3 conference to see what they announce for Switch, but here we are!
  24. This month's games are Donkey Kong Jr, VS. Excitebike and Clu Clu Land. VS Excitebike is the FDS version and is the first time it has ever been released in Europe! (The US got it on Wii U, we didn't!) It's an awesome game BTW! It's based on the arcade VS Excitebike (the one that's also available on Switch as an ACA title), but it has different stages, different music, an enhanced track editor and, most notably, split screen multiplayer!! Yup! It's the only (non-Excitebike 64) Excitebike game to have local splitscreen multiplayer, and it's awesome! It's actually a pretty big get for us here!
  25. Same! I can hardly believe that these games came from Capcom! (Or indeed any major AAA developer not called Nintendo or Platinum!) For all the grief I give Capcom for their mistakes, their latest releases in the last year or so have been a sight for very sore eyes! DMC 5 is next on my list after RE2 Remake, but my God! Have I SO missed this kind of game! Actual level design! No open world BS! No micro-transactions! No brain dead “game plays itself” nonsense! Actual gameplay! Wow! And in an era where I thought this brand of game design was dead and buried! (Ok, there’s the Dark Souls games; but they stick to a very rigid formula that I don’t enjoy at all) God I hope that Capcom continue down this path and really bring back actual handcrafted game design to this industry! I miss it so much! What a joy it is to actually play a real game again! (that isn’t either rubbish or a re-release that I’ve played to death) And not an open world sandbox or an interactive movie!
