For the record, I made SMAAALLLL!!!!, The Ladder and KuruKuruKururin! (I also co-designed Demon's Gate)
-
Oy! I also helped make that one! I made it WAAAYYY better!
-
How about that last one then?

Goddammit @RedShell The addition of that spring in the Smash Ball stage was absolutely inspired! Sheer mayhem
-
Highlights!! Fun races as ever! Even if I did awful this week!

Kid Dracula is a great inclusion! As is Bloodlines (though I'll probably play that on the Mega Drive mini instead). Castlevania II Belmont’s Revenge is also a nice surprise! Castlevania: The Adventure... not so much... (should've been the Wii Ware game instead...) Overall, not bad!

Mega Drive Mini (19th September 2019)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
10 more games just got announced for the Japanese MD Mini on a Famitsu livestream! Edit: US/EU equivalent list announced! Jesus Christ!! What a selection!! Contra Hard Corps was my second most wanted game; so I'm absolutely over the moon here! They've even managed to secure the rights to World of Illusion from Disney! Holy fuck! They are NOT fucking around with this thing! What a bangin' selection of games! And we're not even halfway through yet! Now let's get Rocket Knight Adventures 1 & 2 on this thing too! -
Who is the mystery robot behind the conviniently placed statue!? He JUST couldn't resist one last cheeky tease before leaving!

N-Europe's Top 10 (Voting over, check first post for results)

That's a nice, well rounded list! Some real surprise entries (and some surprise omissions! Poor Metroid 2!), but definitely a deserved No 1! Right! Suppose I can't put it off any longer... here's my SNES list! 1: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2: Chrono Trigger 3: Super Metroid 4: Donkey Kong Country 2 (Sorry @Glen-i! I do want DKC3 to win, just because its so ridiculously underrated, but you did say no tactical voting...) 5: Kirby Superstar/Kirby's Fun Pak -
It's also the part that gives me the most pause though... That's gonna really rachet up the price... especially if it's an NVME SSD like what it apparantly has...
-
The new Stage Builder looks SICK!!! It looks so much more robust than before!! (ROTATING PLATFORMS!! OH MY GOD YES!!) I can't wait for the glorious return of Barrels of Doom and SMALLL!!!111!!1 Oh shit! THE LADDER IS BACK FROM BRAWL!! We can make The MGS3 Ladder stage again @Glen-i! I'm already teeming with dozens of ideas for terrible amazing stages right now!

Another day another mini consol... wait... this isn't a console! Nor is it mini!! Yes. It IS actually literally shaped in the form of a giant Capcom logo! It's so incredibly stupid that I want one!
-
It's close enough! Cerny is the lead hardware architect anyway and there are some concrete details he's given here. It's an official announcement that was tweeted out by Playstation themselves... what else do you need? Here's a tweet from AMD to emphaise the officialness of this announcement... What? You needed a name as well? It's "Playstation 5"! Wow! What a shocker!
-
Well that came out of absolutely nowhere! Glad to hear that its fully backwards compatible with PS4! The raytracing stuff is all gravy really, but the BC is the real kicker! 3D audio (presumably Dolby Atmos) is also really cool and I'm glad that its apparantly a big focus with the PS5! SSD storage is also a big surprise; that's surely gonna cost a fortune!? Now there's officially no reason to buy a PS4!

Well, Nintendo themselves admitted that Zelda BOTW wasn't really optimised for Switch at all and that it was a very quick and hasty port from Wii U. Also that game is two years old now and Nintendo have a lot more experience with the Switch hardware; so there's probably a lot of scope for optimisation... I'm sure it'll be absolutely fine; they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't think the experience would be good! What I'm really interested in seeing though is if they feed these optimisations back into the normal Docked experience... Would be nice if they could bump up the resolution to a full 1080p; like almost every other Wii U - Switch port did Haven't had time to build anything else yet (or even any of the other Labo sets! I have all four sets now, but the Labo VR goggles are the only one I've had time to build so far). I should have some time to do some building today and tomorrow though; so hopefully I'll get the chance to have some fun with that! I'm pretty concerned about how I'm actually going to store all of this cardboard stuff though! (especially the Robot Kit! )
-
Yeah, I've not really stumbled onto really great videos that are geared towards Labo VR outside of a couple of Virtual Boy vids TBH. It's actually annoying how few videos there are of 3DS games in VR format! I've only found one and it was terribly done! I wanna see what 3DS games would look like with the Labo VR!!! That being said? Here's a sneak peek at what Breath of the Wild will look like in VR!

The reason why they don't allow cloud save transfer in the first place is to stop people from cheating by duping their save files and avoiding suffering rank-downs when they lose a match. Nintendo (stupidly) decided to save that data client-side instead of server-side within the game itself; meaning that people could cheat if cloud-saves were enabled. With the local transfer though? There's no way to duplicate the save data; since it gets lost from the source system during the transfer. So you can't use it to cheat. The same reasoning was put in place for Pokemon Let's Go as well. Cloud saves are blocked in order to prevent people from cloning Pokemon.
-
None at all. They're just responding to a problem that they created when they blocked certain games from supporting cloud saves. The grand majority of games already allow you to move save files from one Switch to another anyway. This is just for the handful of games that don't support it (like Pokemon Let's Go and Splatoon 2).

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20th 2019)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in General Chit Chat
This is horseshit fanfiction. Palpetine being alive actively desecrates on the ending of the original trilogy in such an offensive way that I refuse to acknowledge it as anything other that horseshit fanfiction. -
Ahh... so THAT's why he left Nintendo! He was absolutely desperate to post on Twitter!

There really aren't a lot of examples of this kind of remake/retelling out there... A list of eligible remakes would basically consist entirely of the following games on all platforms... SNES: Super Castlevania 4, Castlevania: Dracula X (wow! SNES actually didn't truly get an original Castlevania game did it?) GBA: Metroid Zero Mission, Sword of Mana GCN: Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes DS: Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals Wii: Punchout!!, Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth 3DS: Metroid: Samus Returns Wii U: Star Fox Zero (If you were to include non-Nintendo platforms, you could also extend that to the recently released Resident Evil 2 remake, Romancing Saga: Minstrel Song for PS2 and Castlevania Chronicles for PS1/Sharp X68000. Really not much else though.). You might be able to count Final Fantasy 4 DS on that list as well; since the battle system was completely overhauled and plays out almost totally differently to the original SNES game; though that's more of a borderline case since the out-of battle gameplay is fairly faithful to the original... But yeah, that above list is as exhaustive as I can think of. They're all technically remakes, that reuse the original story and setting, but are actually basically all brand new games. BTW: @Glen-i I'm shocked that you picked DKC3 over DKC2! That's wild! (Mad respeck for giving DKC3 some much deserved love! ) Anyway, suppose I've gotta think of a list... Oh man... this is gonna be hard... Might have to take some time to think about this one... -
That port of Afterburner to the TG16 really was absolutely incredible! It's actually way better than the Megadrive version! The TG16 had absolutely no business running the Super Scaler games; those ports were amazing! SEGA in the late 80s/early 90s were really weird in how they put their games out on competing systems... It really wasn't until the SNES came out that SEGA really stopped with them and went all guns blazing against Nintendo.

Oh snap! Youtube VR videos work with Labo VR!!! (No headtracking support yet, obviously), but the 3D effect does indeed work (mostly) as intended! Depends on the video mind you, some aren't formatted well, but that's the nature of user-made videos... Edit: Virtual Boy games (in Youtube VR video form) actually look really good in Labo VR! Very sharp and clear (in contrast to the video included in the Labo VR Kit, which was super blurry). The resolution seems to be a good match for Labo VR, and pretty close to the real thing (outside of the chromatic abberation, which is sadly unavoidable with an LCD display). I'd be very happy to be able to play VB games on this thing! Now make it happen Nintendo!!

That is absolutely horrifying amazing @RedShell! It’s a damn shame you can’t share your creations because I’d love to scare the crap out of surprise some people with that!
