  1. What I mean is, if I went up to a general member of the public and asked them if they liked Björk I would more than likely be 'greeted' with either a blank stare or just 'No!' as I've found people seem to be quite dismissive of her despite her well-deserved critical acclaim, I just put it down to many people not even giving her a chance. But yes, despite her brilliant music... as a person she is indeed a complete twat! :p
  2. Went out to see The World's End with my brother, his girlfriend and my other brother, film was good, went to Pizza Express after plus Wetherspoons for a quick drink before catching the last bus home; was a good night.
  3. Björk... :p A bit of an exaggeration perhaps, but outside of a few individuals on this forum I struggle to find many people who actually like her music.
  4. Ask @canand as I'm pretty sure he bought the majority of stock in the UK.
  5. Annnnnnd here's the official N-E review for Shantae! Click away! : peace:
  6. Well here it is, N-Europe's review of Earthbound! Click the banner and enjoy.
  7. Well, if you were looking to buy the same setup as mine in today's money, the receiver at least seems to be going for a reasonably good price on eBay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-STR-DH800-7-1ch-110W-Home-Cinema-HDMI-AV-Receiver-What-Hi-Fi-Award-Winner-/281143267726?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Home_Cinema_Receivers&hash=item417571d18e £127.90 including postage As for the speakers... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KEF-surround-sound-speakers-/321174071621?pt=UK_AudioVideoElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_HiFiSpeakers&hash=item4ac7776945 ^Those are £100 starting bid, worth the money if you can get them for that and persuade the seller to post them. There are a few on eBay at the moment, the last ones seemed to sell for £179... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kef-1005-2-5-1-Surround-Sound-Speakers-with-Stands-/261246227676?pt=UK_AudioVideoElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_HiFiSpeakers&hash=item3cd37d14dc If you wanted to buy the latest versions of the ones I have then it will probably set you back a lot more, so you can save money by buying them second hand, so it might be worth looking into. Of course I'm just using my setup as an example but it gives a pretty good indication of price I think. Anyway, hope this helps.
  8. Well... something like that anyway. :p For example, I've bought cheaper 'surround sound' setups in the past but they don't seem to be any substitute for doing it properly, buying a separate receiver and then the speakers. I've had my setup for a good few years now, basically this... And these... They did cost a few hundred at the time, but years on and they are still going strong, only needed to have a capacitor replaced in the sub, but aside from that, never a problem, just brilliant sound.
  9. Think of it as a life-lesson for your child, it's like the circle of life... sort of. As an aside I didn't know you could kill them but I did think about throwing a Pikmin or two at one 'just to see' but now that I know the truth, things will never be the same; all butterflies must die for the good of Pikmin-kind! :p
  10. What's your budget? You could get surround sound for less than £100 which might not last you very long/won't be too great or you could spend up to a few hundred and really transform your listening experience. It all depends on what you're after.
  11. Ah, that's a shame in that case I'll risk it for a while longer, try and play the fuck out of the games I really want to complete and then look into trying to repair it in a couple of months when I have more time.
  12. Well all I can say is, I really hope the PS4 is better constructed than the PS3, I always assumed that I'd be able to enjoy playing my PS3 for many years to come but going by what has been said in this thread and in those repair guides, I'd be lucky if my console lasts the year as it already makes quite load fan noises while it's turned on. What I don't understand is why would it be too late to repair it when it gets the 'YLOD' ? if you can repair it before it gets to that stage then surely you can repair it after it reaches that point... I'd rather not open up my NTSC launch model PS3 unless I have to. :/
  13. Happy Birthday! Serebii I hope you have a great day. Until Next Time, See Ya
  14. You know it's the right thing to do... *strokes sealed copy*
  15. It's actually pretty convenient having the Game Pad just 'there' so that you can scroll through the map any time using the touch screen, very intuitive... also I love the fact that you can view the whole map as you last left it before you actually land, meaning you can plan ahead more, these features might not be the 'huge' selling points that Nintendo would have you believe from the back of the box but they do enhance the game a lot. I've only played a couple of hours on this so far, I'll be waiting until Sunday to actually sit down and play it properly so that I've got everything else out of the way first.
  16. I've had a few drinks tonight, but I donm't really feel drj unk at all... I suppose I must be at least a little bit though as I seem to be partially losing my ability to type properly... ... or not. Hmm I must have sovbered up already, kind of, you can tell that I reallt don't peroperly drink that often... it's probaberly for the best. :p
  17. If anything I like Nintendo for not 'messing around' with how they name their games as they are very literal in that sense. Super Mario Bros - they are brothers, one is called Mario and they are super. Metroid - name of the main creature in the game, also an amazing 'fictional' word. The Legend of Zelda - the Princess you rescue is called Zelda, the hero is called Link, this is a life-lesson for some people right here. Super Mario Kart - no explanation needed here. Excitebike - a game about bikes, exciting! Nintendogs - this is a genuinely brilliant play on words, you pick up the box, see the title and you instantly know what it is. Pilotwings - flight-based game, the name reflects this. Punch-Out!! - boxing game, probably the most iconic to date. I love Nintendo games!
  18. I hope you all have a great time! I've been to one N-E meet before and I'd have to say that I'd recommend it, worth going at least once.
  19. It has arrived! But I won't get to play it properly until later... work. At least it's here though, the years of waiting are finally over! : peace:
  20. My favourite character from the 'Zleda' games? Gotta be 'Lnik'...
  21. Ray was in Sega Sonic the Hedgehog Mighty was in Chaotix
  22. I actually only got around to putting some proper play-time into this today, mostly due to Earthbound which I've progressed well in but am nowhere near finishing; but being that I'm reviewing both titles I figured that I should at least dedicate a few hours to Shantae as it's only fair. My... what an absolutely charming title! I have always known that this game was something special for quite a while but I didn't realise just how much so until today. Why haven't I played this yet? *searches on eBay* oh yeah... that's why, because the original now sells for almost as much as Earthbound. It's not hard to understand why though, as it's a rare example of brilliance seldom seen in a lot of games today bar of course WayForward's own recent efforts, so I'm very glad that this has finally been released as now Shantae will really get her chance to shine with all of her games available in once place hopefully within the year!
  23. My retail copy of this has been shipped! Yes I already downloaded Super Luigi U, no I won't be unsealing it, for me this is purely being kept as a collectable. Am I mad? Slightly perhaps. :p
  24. Oh shi... only just saw this, I'll try and join now. Just finished filling my inventory with stuff, brt.
  25. Sorry, forgot about this... any time today should be fine if you're free?
