Congrats ReZ! -
Last week I picked up a boxed PS1 with a few games for £16. This week I got... An unboxed Ps1 with just the leads for £3 Both Gran Turismo 1 and 2 for 50p the pair Freak Out and Tenchu: Wrath of Haven PS2 games for £3 the pair Ninja Gaiden, Group S Challenge & Star Trek: Shattered Universe for £3 all three Not a bad couple of weeks, but nothing really stellar either, still...

It's a really great game, I'd advise playing it on Normal but not worrying about continuing, every time you die in the game it will ask you if you want to continue, when you do it automatically starts you off from exactly where you died and you can do this as many times as you want which is perfect if you just want to play the game although it will affect your rank but it doesn't matter that much. : peace: Besides it's one of those games that you can go back to, replay any stage you like if you want to improve your grade so it's pretty flexible really.

This arrived for me as well today, played about 2 hours so far of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and I'm really enjoying it.

I didn't realise there was that much of a stigma attached to downloading Pokemon at Game, I usually just walk right up to the desk and say... Me 'Hi, are you still doing the Pokemon download?' 'You know, the one for 'insert legendary PkMn here' Game 'Yeah, give me a sec...' 'Ok it should be ready to download now' Me 'Cool...' *downloads Pokemon* Game 'Have you pre...' Me '...ordered Pokemon X & Y? Why yes I have' (on ShopTo trolololol) 'Kthxbai!' Never had any problems.
-
Just to clarify I'm still buying it, the 3D battles at least will surely be stunning.
-
Suddenly the 2DS releasing alongside Pokemon X & Y not only makes sense but it actually sounds appealing for anyone just buying the system for only those games. :p Next thing we'll be hearing is that stereo sound is limited to in-battle only.

Day fracking one! I love me some Phantasy Star and I'd basically given up hope on PSO2 ever getting localised/released properly over here so this will do nicely just so long as it isn't gimped in some way.
-
Correct, we do get discount on Tesco direct... so long as you order it on the account of whoever is the employee - I really don't think it would allow you to register the same discount card on more than one account - assuming they have registered their card for use online then that should be fine. I definitely wouldn't advise trying to add the discount card to your own account though, the card could get withdrawn if the company suspects that it's being misused.

Another pointless remake... yay?

^ At least some of it is actually warranted though...

My thoughts exactly @Blade... It's a Zelda game... in this instance one of the best, now in HD with a few refinements, so what's not to like? The price is right, this isn't just some 'spit 'n polish' job with a 'HD classic' badge slapped on it like so many budget releases on other formats but a proper restoration of a classic game which will become the default version which everyone that has a Wii U will want to play, it's a lasting tribute to the original and a chance for those who missed it the first time around to bask in its brilliance. Overzealous? Perhaps... but personally I can't wait to play what is easily one of my favourite games ever all over again in all of its cel-shaded, HD, 1080p glory! : peace:

I'm not saying it will happen or trying to jinx it or anything but I was just trying to prepare you for the possibility; chances are this time tomorrow you'll be blasting your way through Killzone like a man possessed! : peace:
-
Oh watch out, that happened to me with a game and it never turned up, it has pretty much always been day before release if pre-ordering... having said that though it will more than likely turn up tomorrow.
-
I'm sorry to hear that @martinist...

Tempted to pledge... but, why are they bringing Shantae to all consoles suddenly? I'm still trying to decide if this is a good thing or not, obviously more people get to experience the game which is good, though I quite liked that the series had only appeared on Nintendo platforms so far. Either way this will almost certainly reach its target of $400,000 with relative ease I would have thought, it's already above $30,500 with 29 days to go!

So is this sale just for today or does it last a week or two?

Thanks for the clarification... a) When the Wii was created Nintendo were clearly moving into not only an innovative area - as is standard for them - but also unproven territory, motion control had never been properly tapped into for use in gaming so this was an exciting time for the company and a rather unnerving one for us as gamers; until we all tried it of course... it was at that point that the difference was clear as this was not just a console made exclusively for existing 'gamers' but it was a console that would broaden the definition of the word as because the playing field was now effectively levelled 'anyone' could be classed as a gamer just by picking up the controller and 'having a go' but it wasn't just that as anyone could do that with Nintendo's previous consoles if they had bothered, with the Wii people actually wanted to try it who had previously had no experience of games... that was a ground-breaking moment. b) People get older, the majority become more cynical towards gaming so they find it 'easier' to just jump on the 'this company is for kids' band-wagon, especially if they have kids themselves... 'oh that's a great console for the kids... but I like to play on my Xbox because the only game I play is COD' ...the reason they will only play this one game is because they resign themselves to the fact that they don't have much time, so they buy a console for one game, if the other console - Nintendo's - doesn't have that particular game or that game presented in the way they expect - the Wii famously got 'gimped' versions of multi-format games - then they aren't going to even consider it; this has only really been an issue since the Wii I feel as all Nintendo consoles before seemed to have a decent level of interest throughout their life-cycles. c) As aforementioned, the Wii was genuinely new but with the Wii U it seems to the general public that it isn't as 'new' as the Wii but this is partly a marketing issue - yes Nintendo is to blame, blah blah etc whatever... this isn't a thread about having a go at the console - essentially they can't gain that same feeling again, at least not in exactly the same way but honestly I've seen first-hand that if you put someone in front of the Wii U who genuinely didn't know that the console even existed and just show them what it can do, in a short space of time they are usually pretty amazed by it all... but because most people are barely aware of the console this amazement isn't reflected in sales. Yes the Wii did very well, there are various franchises that Nintendo can take from that era and carry them over to the Wii U such as Wii Fit U, Wii Party U etc which we have yet to see, but they also have an opportunity now to prove themselves to their original target audience - us - and they are actually doing this... slowly but surely, we've already had a good handful of exclusives games, The Wonderful 101 is a fantastic example of an original IP, we get a HD remake of one of the greatest Nintendo games of all time very soon in Wind Waker HD plus there is much more yet to come which is going to be too amazing to properly fathom right now. Nintendo has the console and the games on the horizon, it just needs to make them shine brightly so that everyone will hopefully get a chance to bask in their glorious sunlight... ... complete with HD lens-flare of course.

I've always thought of Nokia phones as rubbish, I suppose this is a good move for Microsoft but really it just makes me dislike them even more... ever since Windows 8, the introduction of Windows phones and recently the unveiling of the Xbox one user interface they seem to have this desire to put their crappy user interface on everything. If that's not reason enough to dislike them then I don't know what is. At this point it's looking like the 360 is the last piece of Microsoft hardware I'll ever own.

Where there are Nintendo games there will always be interest. To play Nintendo games, you need a Nintendo console... this will never change. Nintendo make games for gamers, this has always been true and always will be regardless of frequency of releases. These games would not be the same on anything other than Nintendo hardware. In the case of the Wii it was a brilliant console with a simple concept let down only by lack of HD and certain developers treating it like a toy. But in the case of the Wii U we have a brilliant console capable of HD, the general public fail to grasp the concept of the gamepad or even that it's part of a new console, this is partially Nintendo's fault though. I really don't know what else there is to say? All the threads created recently always seem like pointlessly retreading old ground... no offence to you @Jamba as you're a top guy but can we have a little more clarification on what the discussion in this thread should be about please, as I feel like otherwise I may have missed the point and others might do the same; I just don't want to see this turn into another identical thread so if you could further explain - perhaps only for my benefit - then that would be appreciated, thanks. : peace:

^ I didn't really like that review but I get the point... it's essentially an 8/10 game that you'll enjoy while it lasts but is nothing ground-breaking, that's fine as I never expected it to be. Now decision time, Xbox 360 version or PSN version... having the original to play again for free is tempting but has the original already been available to download on PSN? If it has then I'll pass but if they have made it specifically available just for this then I'll consider it. Is this remake purely 2D though just like the original? If so then I might as well stick with the 360 version as I have a fight-pad which I use for all my arcade titles/fighting games because the directional pad on it is second-to-none!

Knowing what Capcom are like we'll probably get all the Megaman X games in Europe at the same time just like they did with all the iterations of Street Fighter II with a special deal if you buy all of them... :p What a glorious day that would be! : peace: Anyway... *goes back to writing reviews*

The end of an era - particularly for me - but by the gods it's definitely time! : peace: Considering that nearly all the games on the Wii VC are slowly getting re-released on the Wii U and 3DS VC services, it's only natural for this to happen so that these platforms can be more easily focused on. For me it will be a relief not to worry any more whether there will be any more games released on the Wii VC or not.
