A few day ago this game was 'amazing' spent the best part of two days playing it... ... now it's just another game on the 'multiformat console' that I'll play when I'm on there and maybe, hopefully finish someday soon, inbetween everything else. :p Until the online comes out that is and then I'll be all over it again.
-
So I finally got around to finishing this most wonderful game last night! I can honestly say that I loved every moment of it...

Burnin' Rubber It was the first game I really remember playing and getting properly into when we got our Amstrad 6128+ comouter back in the day although the unit itself could load from floppy disks it also had a cartridge slot on the side of the keyboard where the cartridge for this and the basic program went. Recently I discovered that you could buy an Amstrad console that plays just the cartridges - of which they made less than 30 games - so I bought one and relived a part of my childhood. Dat theme tune! :awesome:

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate movie coming to Japan
S.C.G replied to Wii's topic in General Gaming Discussion
'Based on Sega's videogame'? They could at least get that part right and give Platinum Games the credit they deserve! Anyway, no one in their right mind would pay to see this - but then it is being released in Japan - as for over here? They would be better off just shoving a dvd of it in as a pre-order bonus for Bayonetta 2... better still they should go all out and supply it in a CD case at least then people would have the option of using it as a coaster. This is a really poor example of 'anime' and is a blatant cash-in. -
I have a silver one for sale, £125 including first class postage if you're interested, the VIP console code that comes with it has been used but the console itself is brand new, only turned it on a couple of times to update the firmware - I last switched it on months ago - and to download some free games while they were on offer. Anyway, drop me a PM if you're interested and we'll talk more tomorrow/later. : peace:

True enough... it's still fun though! In fact it seems like we ended up getting the best version of the game overall as I heard that the 360/PS3 versions had issues with them, the Wii U version seems to be rather polished obviously putting the voice chat issue aside but yeah I do agree, in its current state it's probably better as a four-player local game. Who knows though, perhaps they will patch it? If they do then I would say you have no reason not to get it. Being honest I might have held off too if it wasn't for me being sent the review code but the pros still outweigh the cons as I was still really grateful to receive it as they have done a superb job updating two arcade classics that I never even got the chance to play. : peace:

I know it's the principle of it but... don't you tend to spend around 80% of the game in battles anyway? Personally it's not a deal-breaker for me but I'm just thinking that overall it doesn't sound like that big of a deal... ... if they bring out Pokemon Z in a year and a half however with full 3D support then, errr... that would be kind of awkward. :p

So did anyone else end up getting Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara last week? I ask because I'm reviewing it at the moment and was going to jump on the online mode in a bit and while I could just play with random players, I thought it might be fun if up to three other N-E players would like to join me? If anyone has the game and wants to play tonight then give me a shout. : peace:

@Iun that's a really nice piece of creative writing.

VC Weekly 259 With a dedication to Hiroshi Yamauchi. : peace:
-
And here it is...

Today I'll only be playing games which had Hiroshi Yamauchi's involvement, so I'm currently playing Earthbound again which he was the Executive Director for. But I will still be playing Mario Kart 7 later. @lostmario

Will echo my post from the other thread on the Nintendo boards, besides the man deserves two threads, he was a legend! (I'm reposting in the assumption that this doesn't get merged, if it does I'll delete this repost) --------------------------------------------- RIP Hiroshi Yamauchi To the man who made (Nintendo) the success that it still is today, who never compromised when it mattered regardless of naysayers at the time... ...we salute you! : peace: He once commanded the company whose name literally translates to 'Leave luck to heaven' and now we leave his soul to the very same place that decided his fortunes.

Seeing the last few seconds of that trailer where it shows one of those 'things' next to Wizeman from NiGHTS made me think, why didn't they just use the bosses from that game in the first place instead of having them as DLC? :p Would have been a lot better, plus they could have shoe-horned it into the story somehow. The bosses don't look quite as bad in context but they are still rather poor designs.

It's a 'high' 8... ...but more importantly the review is great! Thanks @Ashley for being honest... : peace: ...now everyone please, no more 'hate' or reasons to slate. Wind Waker HD is a triumph, so put down the pitch-forks... ...the majority of us will still buy it of course! :p And now to bed for me, for it is late... ...I look forward to the next debate. As it's just a few months... ...until Mario Kart 8!

I've played GTA V for most of the day, its been pretty damn awesome so far. But now... sleep.

I don't think anyone was expecting them to orchestrate the music, I'd definitely expect it for the next new home console Zelda though.

What makes you think that the audio won't have been improved? Of course it will have, the game will be able to take advantage of uncompressed linear PCM just like every other Wii U retail game surely? Just checked, it definitely does... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=671081 Naturally you'd only noticed the difference if you have a receiver that can decode it but I'm sure they still will have overhauled the audio.

It's GTA, most certainly open-world (the largest one yet) it has those 'sports games' you mention actually in the game, from the footage I have seen even these 'mini-games' have more polish on them then some actual dedicated sports games. As for 'roaming around' the navigation is handled really well, if you just want to do the story missions and nothing else then you could quite easily do that without going off and seeing the world but then you'd be missing half the point of the game. :p So in answer to your question, yes it is 'GTA' but it is better than the previous games so it's 'more than that' in one sense... ultimately though you say that you like great stories and enjoy great gameplay, therefore I am baffled as to why you think that this isn't the game for you. Make a quick £5 profit by selling the game on or get more than your money's worth in enjoyment, it's your choice. : peace:

Game installed! It took roughly 13 mins 37 seconds. :p

Just got my Palkia today, probably the only thing worth going into GAME for these days... honestly it's full of casual idiot 'gamers' who barely know what a good game is. :p [/rant] Giratina in a week and a half then!

Quick! Somebody tell @Hero\-of\-Time! Fracking finally!
