You're lucky to have bought the first CPU batch with the latest sockets. If you upgrade your BIOS to the latest version, you should probably be able to have a 6000+ run in it. No need to update your GPU, going from a 6150 to 8400 won't at all improve if you're not gaming or watch a lot of HD content.

You're better off buying a Radeon 4850 for your graphics card, for two reasons: - It's way faster than the 8800GT, it's almost as fast as a 9800GTX - Your motherboard doesn't support SLI, but does support CrossFire, so you can expand it better later by just adding another card It's a few quid more, but you won't come close to exceeding your budget. It's really worth the money For the rest, it's a great setup. Hold on, it's only 3 pounds more expensive in the same store.

Don't how anybody else would dare posting on the interwebs with a name as inviting as this one. Luckily I'm apparently dyslectic and partially blind when it comes to user names. But I like it!

Tough one really, it's a really demanding thing you're asking from your PC. For the processor, you should go for a quad core. The Core 2 Quad Q9450 should do best, but you should go for a Q6600 if it's too expensive. For RAM, you should get at least 4 GB. Make sure you get either DDR3 memory or 1066 MHz DDR2. Kind of depends what fits with your mainboard. For game design, memory bandwidth matters a lot. Either buy a higher end Quadro or a GeForce GTX 260/280, or (cheaper) a Geforce 8800GTX like Moogle said. Maybe a Radeon HD 4870 will do nicely as well.

Tomb Raider Anniversary on Wii apparently was a good game, so I've high hopes for this one. Screenshots looking bad is a common issue. Probably looks far better in motion. Anniversary didn't look too shabby either.

Ah, I forgot about this game... Shame it's been delayed, but a nice title to add to my most wanted list.

Wooh, third parties are really stepping up to fill Nintendo's void now. Looks great.

They wouldn't, the Wii has almost twice the processing power and three times the memory - it could handle way larger areas than the GameCube using the RE4 engine, just like MP3 could handle way larger areas on a modified Metroid Prime 2 engine. The number of on-screen enemies never seems to get anywhere bigger than it did in Resident Evil 4 either. The destruction of doors and the likes was also featured in RE4.

True in some cases, but not all weed smokers are stereotypical. Even so, I don't see why you would ban it. If you're stupid enough to fuck up your own life with weed, you should be free to do so. It should be completely your loss. Those people wouldn't be stopped screwing up their life with banning of weed, and even if it would eradicate use completely, they would find another way.

Check out the gameplay videos on GameTrailers... The only new gameplay elements I spotted in two of them is an improved inventory popup screen and flying bat-like enemies. For the rest the gameplay looks 100% identical to Resident Evil 4, it's not even like there are more zombies on screen or anything. I wouldn't be surprised if they just ported all the game mechanics code RE 4 had straight over. It doesn't even look incredibly much better than Resident Evil 4. It's HD, the animations are very fluent and the PS360's pixel shaders make it all look very well lit, but by no means does it look incredibly advanced. RE4 pushed last gen's hardware way harder than RE5 does now. The big difference between RE5 and RE4 seems that the area is really more of a city - it has a more complex and diverse geometry, and you are less confined to small spaces like in RE4. Ironically however, this was a weak point of the GameCube hardware (games like Need for Speed and True Crime apparently looked worse than the PS2 version because of it) and apparently the one thing the Wii hardware has improved the most on, with bigger disk space and far more memory. I really think there's a good chance RE5 is coming to Wii, given Capcom's recent poll, and now these comments. It really seems like a properly portable game - those new gameplay elements are nothing the Wii can't handle. They already have the engine, they have the audience, and they have a Wiimote. They could even take out the co-op gameplay as far as I'm concerned.

Awesome, awesome. Got bored with it on PC because I felt like I should play it on a couch, staring at a PC, and now I can! And not a port! Great stuff. GT preview (sorry for the artefacts): Apparently it's a Dutch production. Go us!

I think Miyamoto will retire somewhere halfway the lifetime of the Wii2. The way he's developing games nowadays it seems to me he's getting bored with developing the usual classics he used to make... There's enough talent (involved) with Nintendo to make up for it though - Eiji Aonuma and Masuhiro Sakurai seem to be very talented, and they're still quite young. Not to mention the entire Nintendo Tokyo team...

There are really many good games coming out actually. There just aren't a lot of fantastic games. Good games: The Conduit Mushroom Men: Spore Wars Animal Crossing Fatal Frame IV Mad World Call of Duty 5 De Blob SimCity Creator Samba de Amigo Tales of Symphonia 2 Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Fragile Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Cursed Mountain Overlord: Dark Legend Sky Crawler Shaun White Snowboarding Lego Indiana Jones/Batman (these games are awesome) Guitar Hero Disaster: Day of Crisis (if coming out at all) Though not all of them will be out this year, each of them is giving me (sorry for being like Solitanze) a vibe that they will score 80%-ish, though none of them is going to be a classic. There's really going to be enough to play. And then there's still Pikmin 3, which I think is going to come out a lot earlier than is expected. Also, I think we might see a Resident Evil title quite soon, but more likely next year. Furthermore, I demand Nintendo to finish/kick/pipe money into/pipe Miyamoto into the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers project. It was looking far, far too awesome to get cancelled. You'll notice there are relatively few sequels on that list, so that's a good thing hopefully.

Devil May Cry is an awesome idea on Wii Darkjak. Wouldn't even mind if they polished up the old PS2 engine, the gameplay would be awesome.

The Sun and Daily Mail shouldn't be taken serious. I don't even live in Britain, and I know that... Even if it does get banned, you're all free to import it frome here.

Lovely style, no question. I wonder how the gameplay remains interesting.

The fact that they screwed up in the presentation while they obviously practiced their little show beforehand, shows that it isn't "too automatic". It's not going to be a hard game, but the game needs a level of challenge to be fun. I don't think someone like Shigeru Miyamoto will have missed that detail, small as the challenge may be.

All right mister picky, let me rephrase - People should do what they want as long as it doesn't hurt/affect/annoy other people. I'm completely against public smoking, but if you want to smoke weed on your own room, you should be able to. Freedom should exist to the maximum amount socially enjoyable.

Can't say I like it very much at this point. Maybe it'll grow on me. Seems much too long too. More Metallica songs have this problem, but this doesn't seem to compensate with incredible awesomeness.

Works fine over here. I've heard we have lower percentage of drug users than most European countries, though I can't back that up. Banning doesn't stop people from using it, and legalising it makes it less exciting to use it. I've never smoked any. To be honest, I don't see what's against legalising it. People should be free to do what they want.

Obviously you don't know what this game is about. There's actually a mode where you learn to play the drums in Wii Music because it's too hard. In the E3 presentation there were some obvious screwups too. This game isn't completely automatic.

Everything that is wrong with the world...on one DVD!
DCK replied to Gizmo's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Haha, this is hilarious -
Yeah, well, that's just the way you name it. Maybe OoT was a bad example, but the Wind Waker could use more dungeons. I don't think it's very Nintendo-like to admit their own mistakes like that, mind.

Can't really judge it in that quality. At least it's metal again, not the lame rock of the last albums. It's really not as heavy as any of their 80s stuff it seems, but oh well. I quite like that recurring riff they start the song with. It's featured in the Death Magnetic previews as well. Here's the tracklist of Death Magnetic: Another The Unforgiven there [/captain obvious]

Most people can actually make cake. Most people can't actually play multiple instruments. Baking a cake isn't hard. Learning to play an instrument is hard. Just like learning to play proper tennis. That's the whole point, just give some fun stuff to do for people who want to jam around without much effort.
