  1. Not sure. He'll probably get back to it as it's running his trophy completion percentage but it's very rare for him to drop a game like that. I got it as part of PS+ but never touched it. I've read impressions from a few people that the dark tone is why they didn't resonate with the game and dumped it early on.
  2. This is what a mate of mine done. He's loves to 100% his trophy lists, even if he isn't enjoying them, but he just couldn't get on with this game at all.
  3. Indeed. Strong 3rd party support and the general strength of the brand has been carrying it the past year or so. Apparently 2025 is set to be a big year for the console, what with all of the 1st party eggs finally lining up. They'll need it because I imagine the Switch 2 will be dominating most charts/sales/discussions next year.
  4. Came in the topic hoping for a re-release of the NES Batman...leaves disappointed.
  5. Donkey Kong Country icons are now available.
  6. Having watched the latest trailer, I'm still not sold on the game. It's yet another Zelda title where I'm not really that excited about its release.
  7. Zero and Azure are the 2 recommended games to play in the series before you start Cold Steel.
  8. PS4. I'll be playing Trails of Zero not Cold Steel.
  9. Last week, I decided to tackle another game on my 2024 Pledge List and I finished it last night. I loved the original game but I don't think this one manages to match it. I still really enjoyed it though. I just found there to be way too many systems in the game, all of which seemed a little confusing. I didn't look into what half of them done and so I ended up playing the game without using things like ninjutsu and the magic systems and instead just played it like Dark Souls, rolling/dodging and hacking away. It wasn't until I started going for the platinum in the post game where I finally delved into these things. I really should have looked into them sooner as it would have made things a lot easier. I did enjoy the standard battle system though. The range of weapons on offer allows for so many different play styles. I mostly used the axe and spear. The axe was slow but powerful and playing this way reminded me of a build I had in one of the Dark Souls games. The spear was a little faster and allowed me to keep my distance so I can learn the enemy movements and patterns. Once I was more comfortable, I would then move in with the axe. The way I played the game was I would go through a mission on my own and then use the Quick Match option to join and help others online. This meant that I would get to experience the level by myself and then go help others, whilst also gaining more experience. It was a fun way of grinding my levels but also felt good helping out other players. I also came across this fella.... This is why he dropped out of the presidential race. Dude was too busy playing Nioh 2. The game does a good job of offering a hand if you are struggling. A few missions have NPCs join you on your quest and you can also summon help from random players who are online or those you have dropped an item that allows an AI version of their character to be summoned. Some of the people I encountered whilst helping others where hilariously overpowered. I think the max level is 700 (I finished the game at around 120) and so seeing some of these players pop up and melt bosses health bars was always quite funny. Most of these people were using a no weapon build and instead would just using fists and magic. One of the NPCs did cause me a little trouble when I tried to escape... So, yeah, great game but I preferred the original. Still well worth a play if you like Soulsborne games or you just want a game with plenty of customisable options that allows you to play the game how you want to play. With that done, another game is off the list.
  10. I've still not watched the first season. I should really get around to fixing that. Man, people who haven't played the games are gonna be up in arms with what happens in the second season/game.
  11. So, this popped up today. This would certainly go hand in hand with comments made last month...
  12. Monolith Soft are needing to upscale. This doesn't really surprise me. I imagine they have been spread pretty thin over the years, what with lending a hand on a lot of other Nintendo titles. Plus, games are needing more time and manpower to make. It is heartening though to see them recruiting, while a lot of the other companies are shedding staff. Makes a nice change.
  13. You should get back on it. It's great. I may give the whole lot a rewatch.
  14. Looks like The Orville is finally coming back. I wonder why it's taken so long to get another season off the ground?
  15. Understandable, especially if you are favouring your PC. No interest in Astro Bot? May be worth holding on to for that, before flogging it.
  16. I take it putting up more shelving or buying more bookcases is not an option?
  17. I would but I'm also tempted. Think it's only the 2nd time it's been on sale.
  18. Not one for @Julius. I disagree with point number 2. I think I'm much better at games now than what I was as a kid. One of the points about having too much to do is spot on. I had this yesterday where I got in from work, had to mow the lawn, do some weeding, clean the bathroom and then tidy the house. It was hours before I actually got any gaming done after work. The final point is a good one and is why when I do play an online game, I pretty much play on my own/with random players. Trying to get people together for a gaming session is just not possible anymore for me. Gone are the days of playing the likes of Halo 3, Gears of War and Monster Hunter until stupid o clock in the morning with my mates.
  19. The game release has been pushed back a little bit.
  20. Yeah, you can't skip any stages when the option appears. I suppose it's like when playing one of those Mario games that gives the ability to be invincible if you die too many times. It's just giving players who struggle the chance to keep moving forward. The caveat is that you won't get the secret boss if you use this option.
  21. Another late night platinum. It's an indie game that's been on my wishlist for a while and it was recently reduced from £9.99 to 94p. Obviously it was the right time to snap it up. It's a pretty straight forward platformer/metroidvania type game that lasts around 3 hours. Pretty basic but fun enough.
