This will be @Hero-of-Time's favourite thread. Anybody other than me interested in this?

Fair points. Developing those games is not as easy as it sounds, though, as you have to account for possible fuck-ups in level/world generation, enemy interactions, item interactions, etc. Testing must be a right pain. There are games that use this mechanic as an easy way out, and those devs can fuck right off, but games like Binding of Isaac, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Enter the Gungeon and hopefully Moonlighter get it just right. Indeed, but the good games of that genre always give you a way to succeed either way. And then skill and adaptability are important to overcome some bad luck. I do enjoy thought out stages/levels, too. For the same reason as you: I grew up with them. You are probably older than me, though, and in turn have a longer history with those types of games) which means I'm not as closed-minded () opposed to randomness in level generation as you

Always wanted to ask: Why exactly don't you like rogue-likes?

Love how during the "Real Time Hair Rendering" a bald dude shows up By the way, did I mention that I'm fucking excited for this? Downloading right now, will unlock at midnight. I took tomorrow off for Moonlighter...that's how excited I am

I'm interested. I need to get back to the first one, though. Started on the highest difficulty and the grind is unbearable, even for me Will probably start Rainbow Moon again soon on my Vita but on normal difficulty. Rainbow Skies is one for a sale during next Christmas

I'll be rooting for Liverpool tonight. Come on, lads. DO IT. If Real wins I will blame your odour. Nivea...pff.

Seems like Moonlighter won't be out next week on Switch. Didn't know that, sorry... Anyway, here's a trailer for another game I'm looking forward to:

Wohoooo. Online co-op? Yes, please. Looks like a day-one buy for me
-
I just pre-ordered Moonlighter for 18€, so I got that going for me. Congrats on your purchase

Oh boy, I keep forgetting that this game is coming out this year, too. I can't keep up But you're right. If it turns out to be a good game the Spider-Man brand will do the rest.
-
Yeah, and it seems Sony will continue to create and support those types of games. That's insane. Will be interesting to see if The Last of Us 2 can sell more.
-
But it's not...there are women in the game. WOMEN.
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Nice choice. Are you enjoying it? Where are you at? The music is awesome, isn't it? TELL ME. I should play this again sometime.
-
Easily my most anticipated game after Dragon Quest XI. Can't wait for next Tuesday Hopefully it'll be released at midnight.
-
Nope, can't be arsed. Reached chapter 3 but I just don't want to play another Uncharted for...well...ever. It's been great but it's over for me

The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]
drahkon replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
Yup. Pretty awesome. One Piece is in that horrible "snail pace mode" again...come on, I want to see Zorro again -
Looks like some people in the gaming community are going ape-shit about how women and black people are in this game. It's not "historically accurate". Kotaku has a great article - or rather rant - about this and I fully agree with the author.
-
Oh fuck, this is out tomorrow? Damn...think I'll go with Moonlighter as Detroit is too expensive for me right now. @Hero-of-Time I expect some first impressions
-
Alright, code is gone
-
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (i.e. the 8-bit spin-off) is here. Well, at least for Steam. Console codes will be available soon. As I only asked for a PS4 code I got a temporary Steam code. As I can wait for the console code: anybody interested in the Steam one? First come first serve. Post here and I'll PM you
-
Yup, same here. The trailer is pretty cool but the "gameplay" looks heavily scripted. No season pass, no pay-to-win lootboxes (only cosmetic, which I personally don't care about)...what's the catch EA? I am fairly interested to be honest. So far, Battlefield V is ahead of CoD. I think the respective betas will nudge me into the right direction.

Well...it is a perk

It was either you or Magnus who'd post a gif of Neo

Looks like I will be responsible for the program for students coming from abroad to study at our university (i.e. welcome events, provide information, provide general assistance, parties, build a team that will help with the work, assign tutors for the welcome week, etc.). The one who has been responsible for that for the last 18 months wanted to talk to me today and our "meeting" started with him saying: "Hey man, nice to see ya; here's the deal: I want you to be my successor." I was a little flattered, to be honest, because he's only known me for about 6 weeks now and thinks I'm the one for the position.. Anyway, I think I'll do it. The work will collide with my exams, so I need to improve my time management but I'm sure I'll be able to do good work Gonna be my first real honorary post (not sure if that's the correct word...).

But Kane will score all your goals even if he doesn't touch the ball. Perfect fit for a captain
